When they left Lake-town I thought several of them had the guard uniforms on. By the time they got to the mountain they had mostly stripped down or were in rags. Either way, not exactly the most amazing prints to do for minifigures. Especially when their beards cover most of them up. Now if they were decked out in armor ready for the Bo5A that would be a different story...

I'm still not convinced that the Erebor set is supposed to only contain new versions of Bilbo and the dwarves... Just the mere thought of a 130$ set without any exclusive minifigs is incredibly silly, even with Smaug included  The only options I can think of are Thrain and/or Thror, those two would kinda make sense (obvious anachronism aside ). Dain II is included in the Bo5A set (according to Bigospedros), so he's out of the question and regular Iron Hill dwarves don't quite fit :sceptic: So the only new characters I manage to come up with are Thrain and Thror who both have long abandoned Erebor and never returned... Has TLG ever released a set where one of the included characters has been dead for more than 100 years?

They could take the oppertunity to include Thrain the broken. He's supposed to be in the EE of dos, and we know lego prefers making EE only characters as opposed to A featured main player x]

True  I for one would love to see them (especially Thror) in minifig form  However, as long as we get Bain, Alfrid, Dain II, Bolg, an Iron Hill Dwarf soldier and a Mirkwood Elf soldier, I'm satisfied. Everything else would the cherry on top of a truly awesome cake

It's really surprising that we haven't gotten any info from Nuremberg yet.

I don't think any licensed sets were there (other than the Star Wars Ghost reveal).

From what I can remember from the Hobbit book, didn't Thorin Oakinshield and his band of travelers went back inside and armed themselves with the best armor and weapon from Smaug's stock of treasures?

If there is a Battle of 5 armies set, I hope they include an armored Dwarf warrior and an armored Elf warrior (like the one from the Second movie Desolation of Smauge, the gate guards that were slaughtered by the orcs)

kevkipo: I agree. When I heard there was an Erebor that was the scene that jumped to mind as well! (When the gold burst out of the --throne? Statue? And draped the dragon in gold!)

Awesome :D at least 2 people agree with me

Have you guys seen all the new pictures on Chima? City? Even the Simpsons!

And where are we! the Hobbit fans! left alone :sadnew:

There are photos from the toy show but I don't see any Hobbit sets in them. Perhaps we will have better luck at New York.

And what photos they are. Look at the massive Chima robo Mumakil-type elephant and the phoenixy dragon thing. If these parts don't end up in official Middle-Earth sets, at least there's some MOC potential for some dream sets.
