Cammo Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Are they even on display in Nürnberg? There aren't any new set descriptions since the London toy fair. Quote
Darth Punk Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Well so far there have not been any reports from any lines at Nuremberg, only pictures. The fair does last until Monday so there is still plenty of time. TLG,would very well be waiting to unveil sets later in the show especially if there were finished. Quote
kevkipo Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) I am just focusing on New York right now i don't care about Nuremberg anymore! maybe this weekend we'll hear some news Maybe... but every day i go to school im just thinking, One step closer to pictures, One day closer to NY Toy Fair it's weird to say but i can't concentrate anymore, TLG has let me down, they have let US down. Now my expectations on BO5A: Minifigs: Bard (maybe) Dain II, Bolg, 2x Iron Hill dwarf , 1x Orc warrior, 1x Elven warrior (Sad but true i guess), and Beorn (Also maybe) They could also add 1x Makeshift Lake-town soldier, but i doubt it (Personally i would love a few Makeshift soldier's over Elven warriors, i got a load of those!) i just hope for the Iron Hill dwarves Building: 1 big Dale Building (i think a tower), 1 small Dale building, Rock pieces (don't want that but knowing The Lego Group...), action feature will be Bolg jumping from a Dale tower or something, i think it will be Dale buildings because we saw a few BTS in Dale, i just like Dale, it just looks nice even all burned down :3 As you can probably tell i am a huge Dwarf fan! Mahtion Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 True there is still a small hope that we get some set info but at least New York shouldn't disappoint. Maybe the reason for the lack of hobbit stuff is due to the incomplete prelims? A lot of the other lines like Chima and Star Wars had complete models and I think a lot of them are releasing in the summer. Hobbit on the other hand is set for October and I think the models and figs are just not produced yet so Lego needs a little more time before New York to showcase them. I like your BoFA but take out Bard who could go in Laketown again and Beorn since no one saw a bear and only one dwarf warrior. More elves we're at BoFA than men and humans! Add Thrandui in armor carrying two swords and an eagle and maybe warg. Everything else sounds good including the two Dale buildings which would look great in a beautiful terra cotta color but then partly grey and black from being blasted from dragon fire and ruined for almost a century. I am really excited to see the color choices in this set along with more snow pieces! Quote

Have you read the book? or do you mean no one saw a bear at Toy Fair? And who says there where more elves at BO5A? i read there where a LOT of Dwarves, Oh god no more Thranduil! One set with him is enough, I really dont see any good points in adding him again, and i agree with the Warg (Maybe in black?) but i am not sure about the Eagle More elves we're at BoFA than men and humans! Men and Humans? i think thats the same :P Lego have made a great new bear mold so if we don't get Beorn I will be upset Yup Edited January 30, 2014 by kevkipo Quote
deskp Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) i agree with the Warg (Maybe in black?) Doubt lego will make wargs in more colors, if they do, black is such a wrong color for the wargs, they could do one in the other brown color. The grey warg was a mistake absed on concept art, lego merely fixed that in MEA Edited January 30, 2014 by deskp Quote

Black Warg My toughts on the Lake-Town set Minifigs: Bain, Kili, Bard, Tilda and/or the other sister (forgot her name), Fili, and maybe Alfrid Buildings: Bell tower with Windlance, shooting function on the Windlance, Bell tower like the other Lake Town designs and maybe a part of the Town Hall, Black arrow will be spring loaded Edited January 30, 2014 by kevkipo Quote

In fact Bilbo stays in Thranduils camp throughout the aftermath of BoFA. Now if you go through the book you will see mention of Thranduil's army being larger than the all the other armies expect the goblins, wargs and giant bats. I know Beorn is important in BoFA but I was mentioning the lack of a bear model mentioned at Toy Fair in London. Lego could still add a bear but who knows at this point since we have scant details. I for one would like a bear form Beorn but I would also like a Thranduil due his equal importance in the original narrative. I would also like all of the armies to be represented! “As soon as the host of their enemies was dense in the valley, they [Elves] sent against it a shower of arrows … a thousand of their spearmen leapt down and charged.” “… many are gathering hither beside the birds … Already a host of the elves is on the way …” “… Dáin and more than five hundred dwarves, hurrying from the Iron Hills …” Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 They were shown at the London Toy Fair, so there's absolutely no reason not to display the sets at the NY one as well After the usual disappointment the Nuremberg Toy Fair has shaped up to be in that regard, I really hope we get to see something spectacular at the NYTF After all these years I still don't get the policies at both the Nuremberg and the London Toy Fair. I mean all three toy fairs happen within a month, so why have three different photography policies? Quote
Deathleech Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Now if you go through the book you will see mention of Thranduil's army being larger than the all the other armies expect the goblins, wargs and giant bats. Yup! The elves number over 1,000, the dwarves 500, and the Lake-town men around 200-300. Of course the goblins(orcs) trump all of them. There are over five times as many goblins as there are humans, elves, and dwarves...combined. That's why I am always wanting a bunch of orcs in the army builder sets. People are like oh we already got orcs in other sets, but if you are trying to re-create the scenes on a smaller scale it just looks wrong. 13 dwarves, Thranduil, Bilbo, Bard, Gandalf, Mirkwood Elf Guard (from the polybag), 3 Mirkwood Elf Scouts, and Beorn so far vs Azog, 2 Goblin Town goblins, and 6 Gundabad Orcs. That's over 22 good minifigures vs 7 bad and who knows if the goblins will even appear at the battle, or if Tauriel and Legolas will be there? Buying more MEA doesn't help either since the elf to orc ratio is wrong. About the only option for building a larger orc force is BrickLinking all the orcs Edited January 30, 2014 by Deathleech Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 @azog15: Of course, but if that was the case, why would they have shown the sets at the London Toy Fair? I don't think New Line/WB/MGM/PJ have issues with TLG spoiling anything since they also seem to be fine with the earlier release date (October) If they were that concerned about spoilers, they would have prevented TLG from showing the sets and would have told them to postpone the release date to December Quote
Deathleech Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Yup, and most of the sets, or at least half, seem to be based on DoS which will have been out for over six mounths by the time the third wave hits stores Quote

And it is only day 2 of a 5 day show. Plus they could just be showing the sets only in private meetings due to restrictions placed on them. Film studios I think are even more controlling than TLG. Deep breaths. Quote

So far we have only heard from 2 sources that have been at legos booth. I think the "poblem" with lack of info is that noone interested have gone there yet. Once people who cares goes to see we can get confirmation weather hobbit is there or not. 3 lego specific websites went to london toy fair. so far zero has gone to nuremberg.
