Saruman was in the rather cheap Wizard Battle set and doesn't look different in the Hobbit/LotR. No way he'd be a polybag. It would be VERY cool to get Iron Hill dwarf soldiers as a polybag though.

If the Hobbit sets were shown in London and in Germany, I would totally expect to see them at NYTF. A good buddy of mine is going and he will have a full Lego report with pictures if possible.

I must say, the Hobbit has gotten a really good rep of sets in my opinion. I am totally happy with what we've gotten so far. I just hope that in the end, LotR will as well..

Well, Gandalf was in the cheap Gandalf Arrvies as well as Wizard Battle, and he got a polybag... Though I would guess thats because hes a main character. I would actually expect Thorin or Bard in a polybag, for the same reason.

And a Dwarf soldier polybag seems likely, as weve already gotten a Mirkwood Elf and a Lake Town soldier.

We could also get an orc polybag, we haven't had a villain in a poly bag for since Uruk-Hai in LOTR.

I hope you have good news from your friend Atreyu once New York Toy Fair occurs. It would be great just to get a detailed description of minifigs and sets if pics are unavailable.

It seems Lego likes to give us 2 polybags per wave, if they decide to do them at all (they skipped any for the second LotR wave). So far every time it has been a main character (Frodo, Gandalf, and now Legolas), and a soldier-type (Uruk-hai, Mirkwood Elf, Lake-town Guard). I don't think a dwarf soldier would be impossible to see, though a nice orc polybag would also be great. I really wish Lego would give us two soldier polys for the last Hobbit wave, but I am sure we will get a Bilbo or Thorin or some other character. That is, if they do them at all.

If my second wave split theory is correct we might not see any polybags for the third Hobbit wave. The third LotR will have them though, explaining their absence in the second wave. If Lego had intended only two waves per theme and split them when it was announced there would be a third Hobbit film, it would of made sense they only had a set of polybags for each wave. Rather than make two more polybags to accomdate the split waves, they probably just gave them to us for one wave and left them out of the other.

New York you are my only hope! :cry_happy:

I must say i have fait in it, They where at London and people saw them! if Lego does not want anything spoiled by any of the sets

Then why show it already! I mean they know people are going to explain what they did look like to us right? We quite know how they look like by description already!

Why not show it then? i just think they will show it, and if not they still have to show the set(s) about DOS! The one with Smaug and maybe in Lake-town with Bain leading the Black arrow to the Windlance!

I have a good feeling about this Lads

It would be cool if it was a dwarf this time, and it would make sence it could because the polybags so far have surrounded somehow has armybuilders for the big fights. Like the hobbit bags have been Mirkwood elf and Lake town guard ( And gandalf and Legolas as main characters) a dwarf bag and Thorin or similar would be great choice for the wave 3. Better would be as you said 2 soliders but that won´t happen because it would break the TLGs (or some licence) pattern .

About the Legolas bags, i think they will only be available in some countries in Europe (like the Mirkwood and Laketown and others will never be sold in markets in Europe)

We have had them in Finland, i have picked up about 50 of them but they are all gone now... great seller

The polybags are odd in that they can be very hard to get them all no matter where you are but still not as bad as blue coat Bilbo

As long as i get conformation that were getting a Bolg minifigure, i'll be happy.

No kidding! Your name is Azog15, and i guess you will only be happy when you can see your son popping up ;)

For me i would like some news on anything Dwarf: Like Dain (BO5A) Thorin, new clothes dwarves, Iron Hillers, Erebor (Off course) so yeah...

Soft soft dwarven plastic

Is there an appeal of the Legolas poly that I'm missing? I google'd it and it appears to be a super generic torso that we all have and with Legolas head and hair. Paired with a simple handful of bricks. What am I missing here? If this is what it is, then who cares where it's available? That's not meant to sound as sarcastic as it looks typed out :)

Polybag collector lovers care :P completionists etc :D

I have collected only Mirkwood Elf Guard polys and now Lake town Guards, I have no interest in legolas that I got from Mirkwood Spiders. I suppose its a cheap way to get blonde elf hair pieces?

If you are right Deathleech about the split is it really that difficult for Lego to make extra polys? Or does it go through the extensive development and production cycle detailed in the interview?

My suspicion poly bag will be Dol Guldur Orc and Dain/Thorin.

Second guess Iron Hill Dwarf and Bolg/Azog

I doubt the polybags take the same amount of time to produce as a normal set, but I don't think Lego cares enough to make any extra. The polybags generally have super spotty distribution and are viewed more as promotional items rather than big money making stand alone sets it seems.

So in that case promotional items are good for the final Hobbit film. It would be odd to keep the polys for LOTR unless they really wanted to get people excited for its return in 2015.

There is no reason not to see the sets at NYTF.

Exactly

There are plenty of reasons.

But there are also many reasons who point to them being there!

I hope for a Bolg too, but if I have to MOC him, it will be relatively easy. He's just a normal Orc with a thing (brain tumor?) in his head.

It's not funny to make jokes of Brain Tumor's!

It's a metal plate and you know that! if you want to be a little kid and make fun of a very bad disease then go somewhere else!

If someone in your family had Cancer you would talk a little different!

Nothing really wrong here, it's just a part of speech. People say things like "he practically had a heart attack" about all sorts of things and other such examples. Something will always be personal to someone. Best to let it slide and not to show your age. Sorry in advance moderators, I shouldn't moderate. :)
