deskp Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 A very good dragon. But it Looks like it was not mountable. I need to sell my hungarian horntail... There are studs on it back u can put figs on. Only a single row though it seems. Quote
Floundie Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks the connection between the wing and ball looks really flimsy? Quote
deskp Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks the connection between the wing and ball looks really flimsy? nope, but keep in mind things are morphed in the cg. Quote
coolguy2323 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Oh my bad, I thought you meant a reveal of just one set from the wave like Lake Town was revealed. What do you guys suppose the sneak preview is going to be? The third film will be DLC in december. I know, I'm not paying full price, and then 15 more bucks for a video game. I'll wait for a sale/complete edition. Quote
The Awesomnator Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 One more day! Just one more day! Quote
Shroffy123 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Only one more day, but try not to get your hopes up. Quote

Right, I can understand that, but I really think the third film will be a free download. It would be rude to make parents pay twice for their kids to have the full game. Quote
jonwil Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Iron Man villains have that milkish white look too. So I guess that works. Fun play value for the kids. I know my daughter loves the glow in the dark stuff. GITD printing would be neat too. I know they did that with Monster Fighter stickers. IIRC some new rule in the EU or something forced them to stop using the glow-in-the-dark pigment they were using for the Monster Fighters stickers/prints. No idea if TLG has a different (and presumably OK under EU law) pigment they could use for that. Quote
just2good Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 I'm here to announce with a heavy heart that the new Hobbit sets won't be shown in public display at the 2014 NYTF. They're completely excluded from the press release. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Seriously??? I hope they're at least shown in secrecy so we can get some proper descriptions If that's not the case, we'll have to wait for 4-5 months till something gets revealed at SDCC Edited February 16, 2014 by Lego-Freak Quote

With the movie release pushed back to Christmas New Line and WB will keep a close clamp down on toys and other reveals until at least late summer. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Not surprising. With the movie release pushed back to Christmas New Line and WB will keep a close clamp down on toys and other reveals until at least late summer. It's still surprising to me since the sets were definitely shown at the London Toy Fair (even though with preliminary designs) Great. Just great. My interest in this year's NYTF instantly dropped by 95% (the remaining 5% being reserved for the other licensed themes ), and here I thought my disappointment at the Nuremberg Toy Fair couldn't be surpassed. How wrong I was Quote
Shroffy123 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Told you all not to get your hopes up. Quote

They're completely excluded from the press release. If they are going to do a reveal would it even be in the press release? I know people had their hopes up but it shouldn't be that much of a surprise based on last year. Quote
Floundie Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) I know people had their hopes up but it shouldn't be that much of a surprise based on last year. What happened last year? Both waves of LOTR were at NYTF. Anyway, looks like this thread is going to be dead until July. (If we're lucky.) Edited February 16, 2014 by Floundie Quote
Fives Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Unfortunate news. At least we got the video game cover art which gives a sense of what Smaug will be like. That's better than nothing. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) Smaug looks amazing! He is just awesome looking! No lego hobbit at NYTF? That is just the worst. I was really hoping to see the set Smaug came in! Edited February 16, 2014 by TheLazyChicken Quote
Darth Caedus Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I can live without images, as long as we get minifigure lists. Quote
coolguy2323 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Really? They gave the freaking Lego Movie 17 sets but LOTR does't get 1? And then they don't even show us the few sets the Middle-Earth theme will be getting? Very dissapointed. Quote
Sasaki Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I remain 1% of hope to see if there's any exclusive hobbit/lotr set to be revealed, or else I guess we would have just more time to get more current sets/ minifigures :) and patiently wait to the next summer's toy fair :D Quote
Ardelon Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The first 2/3 of this year is pretty poor for history sets. No castle (the battlepacks are a nice exception), LotR, pirates (even though its their 25th anniversary), wild west (not sure if TLM sets should count) or CMFs, and now no pics of the Hobbit sets till SDCC, it seems. I guess the past few years years were too full for our own good, with Castle, LotR/Hobbit, a good amount of CMfs, LR, and what not. Well, heres looking forward to the end of the year. Quote
Alcarin Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 As I expected... I hoped for 1 set to be revealed but I expected 0..... So thats it until what? SDCC :D I can sleep and not buy LEGO at all this year.... No Castle, No Pirates and most importantly no LOTR..... a poor year but a happy year for my wallet..... I can finally pick up Pirate Ship Ambush then this year Quote
