Legoman123 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 SDCC 2014 by the earliest... Well that's an awful shame. So basically July at the earliest. Quote
TheWorldAhead Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Slightly speculative, perhaps, but do you all reckon that we'll get this version of Bilbo in the large Erebor set? http://3.bp.blogspot...on-of-smaug.jpg Then if we could just get an Ian Holm flashback "Old Bilbo" for the There and Back Again Blu-ray exclusive, I think we'll have every conceivable wardrobe option for Mr. Baggins! Quote
Floundie Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I think the blue version will be in Erebor, but hopefully we also get him in armor too. Btw, we got a glimpse of the blue version from the game trailer: And on a TABA blu-ray exclusive fig, I find it unlikely since DOS will just have the Legolas polybag. A visual dictionary could definitely include old Bilbo though. Edited March 10, 2014 by Floundie Quote
TheWorldAhead Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the picture from the video game; somehow I missed that! As far as a Visual Dictionary is concerned, I wonder whether that's possible. I still don't understand exactly how the LOTR and Hobbit themes are officially related, and I'm not sure whether they could be put together in one DK book, or if the licenses would restrict each theme to its own book, in which case there might not be enough material to fill a single book...yet. Isn't that the same costume that the blue coat version was based on? The one that came from the blu ray release of the first film, I mean? Speaking of blu releases... Is the Legolas poly identical printing to the Mirkwood Spider or different in some way? Quote

In theory he should at some point be wearing the Mithril shirt in TABA. It would be nice to get a torso with that at some point. Quote
The-Daryl Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Same printing. Thanks :) Debating buying this or just renting and waiting for the extended version. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The sale started Sunday, the 9th. Well, poop. Looks like I need to make a trip! Quote

Only Sinner Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Well, poop. Looks like I need to make a trip! Don't forget to pickup a copy of DGB for eighty bucks! Of course, Barrel Escape is a cool set with great parts, and $25 is a genuine steal. I'm getting one too. Quote
legofreak86 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The Daryl the one in the first film blu ray release was based on a scene only in the extended cut involving Bilbo going to the market whilst trying to avoid Gandalf. If memory serves he was paranoid that Gandalf would return to try to convince him again. Quote

deskp Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Around what time did set info/pictures from DOS start leaking? I think it was october or later. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 @azog15: It was October 18th Hopefully they'll reveal more than one set at SDCC, but that's just wishful thinking Quote
kevkipo Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Around what time did set info/pictures from DOS start leaking? well that was off course in July with SDCC, and then like Deskp and Lego-Freak said: October 18th. But if they are going to launch the sets in October then let's look 2 month's back? that will be July. just like the December release 2 month's back then it was October. So Lego-Freak got me thinking... maybe we'll see more than one set at San Diego? Quote

If we look at the past reveals, Bag end and Lake town both turned out to be (arguably) the best sets of their respective waves. I don't know about you, but a giant Erebor playset with Smaug doesn't sound like something that could be one-upped by... another Lake town? I doubt BOFA would.. Quote

The past two reveals were also the second largest sets in their respective waves though, not the largest. I would tend to agree Erebor would be the set shown off because they would want to show Smaug, but who knows with Lego... Quote

The other sets can't tip Smaug, I tought SDCC was in July instead of August? Quote
Floundie Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Your totally right. The other sets can't tip Smaug, I tought SDCC was in July instead of August? It is, I thought you were talking about when we will see finalized pics of all the sets. Since that was October for wave 2, two months earlier would be August. But we still don't know for sure if the release hasn't been pushed to December. Quote

Seaber Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Did we ever find out if we were getting Bain and/or Dain? I remember there being a bit of confusion in one of the reports. Quote
