Did we ever find out if we were getting Bain and/or Dain? I remember there being a bit of confusion in one of the reports.

Word is, we get both.

Sorry if I missed this, but is Smaug confirmed to be part of the large Erebor set, or is it still unclear? I can't imagine TLG putting the giant, fire-breathing antagonist in anything less than the flagship set, but you never know.

Also, if the Erebor set is the interior of the mountain (treasure chamber, forges, throne room, and so on), and NOT the outside, I imagine that minifigure selection will be fairly limited, so we might finally get some of the Dwarves in new costumes. I think Fili and Kili are fairly certain for this wave, because they play a memorable role at the end of the story.

@TheWorldAhead: According to the people who attended the LTF, Smaug is in the Erebor set  Fili and Kili are definitely important to the last part of the story, but I hope they won't take the spots that belong to other, new minifigs  If they appear at all in the final Hobbit wave, I'd expect them to be in 79016 (the Lake-town set) instead of 79017 (BO5A). The latter hopefully includes characters we haven't seen before (Bolg, Mirkwood Elf soldiers etc) while the former is rather limited minifig-wise (Bain is confirmed though, but there aren't that many options for other new characters to be featured apart from Alfrid and Braga). Their inclusion in 79018 wouldn't make any sense since they don't even get close to the mountain (at least during the events of DOS).

Really nothing is confirmed. The people who attended the London Toy Fair had little to no interest in the Hobbit and they weren't very knowledgeable on what was or wasn't in the sets. Add to it most of the stuff seemed to be prototypes or stand ins and it's hard to say for sure what we are getting. It SEEMS like Smaug will be in the big Erebor set and Dain will be in the $60 Bo5A set, with Bain in the $35 Lake-town add on set. Other than that nothing was really reported...

I still need 5 dwarfs, I know, it is bad, but will Oin, Gloin, Ori, Nori and Dori be included in the sets? Or at least a few?

All of those seem unlikely to be in any of the new sets.

If you live in the U.S., Toys R Us is currently running a sale on Barrel Escape. You can get it for $25 which is almost 40% off. It includes Oin and Gloin.

Can't you just go on Bricklink or eBay?

Hobbit - witch-king set

* my suggestion - make the twilight ringwraith full glow in the dark NOT only the head , or maybe a transparent white would also work

Hobbit - lake town

* my suggestion - maybe instead of dain ironfoot u could put the " bolg " minifigure

Hobbit - battle of the five army's

* my suggestion - include a bear form ( Beorn ) , lego never made a lego druid so ... start now

Hobbit - lonely mountain

* my suggestion - as someone who is keeping sets in display i would preffer a brick -built Smaug , but if it does end up a mold , then could

it have some articulation so it can be used as both ground stance and flying stance

Have you read the posts? we don't know what part of the witchking does or does not glow. Transparant white is a no no for Lego

Hobbit - lake town

* my suggestion - maybe instead of dain ironfoot u could put the " bolg " minifigure

Dain II is not featured in any way in Lake-Town

Hobbit - battle of the five army's

A "Druid" ? What?

Hobbit - lonely mountain

* my suggestion - as someone who is keeping sets in display i would preffer a brick -built Smaug , but if it does end up a mold , then could

it have some articulation so it can be used as both ground stance and flying stance

It will be molded... and Lego would never make a big thing without it having articulation

I found your post a bit weird, i think you haven't found all the information and speculations about the sets?

read some pages trough. im sure you'll find your answers

Dain is said to be in BOFA set according to FBTB's London toy fair report. I would guess bolg would be in lake town as if Smaug only appears to be in the mountain set then the lake town set which has been said to be three buildings including the bell tower (I assume that is the tower the crossbow launcher thing is on in DOS). If they wanted a villain for that set then I could see it being bolg as he is the only villain who has set foot in lake town in the trilogy so far. I could see that set including Bain who has been confirmed, maybe bofur (lake town), legolas, Bolg, casual tauriel, one orc and bard. I like the sound of all four sets especially Erebor as I haven't got all the dwarves yet and it would be best to get them in their newest variations. I would guess we would get Thorin and the other dwarves who entered Erebor in DOS and DOS Bilbo. Hopefully soon we will get some new info.

A "Druid" ? What?

Beorn is never specifically said to be a druid in the films or books, but based on how druids are usually portrayed in other fantasy he definitely has the characteristics of one. He has an affinity to nature, can communicate and control animals, and can shape change into an animal himself. About the only thing he is missing is being able to cast magical spells.

I still don't get how they could put ANY villians in Erebor (aside from Smaug). None are in the book, and none appeared in DoS.

Because thats waht lego does, Thranduil in that set, palpatine in that set and queen Amidala in that set.

Its a way to make minifigures people want.

No other Villain aside from Smaug will be in Erebor...

At least if they are movie accurate!

I think It's quite reasonable to expect only 4 figs in Lake Town, only Mirkwood army had a $35 price tag and more than 4 figures. So then these are my choices: Bain, Alfrid, and Bard's daughters. Bolg can go in the BOFA set, that way there's an important character for Dain to fight.
