Alfadas Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Are we certain this wave will be the last? If not, there could be more great sets with more great figs, right? For the bo5a set I really much want Iron Hill soldiers, don't really care about the rest of the figs. Quote
bachamn Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) mirkwood ranger(one that isnt crap) I'm assuming you meant the Mirkwood Elf polybag figure or one of the elves from the MEA set? I see absolutely no problem with either of those figures; just curious why you would think either is crap? Edited March 26, 2014 by bachamn Quote

For the bo5a set I really much want Iron Hill soldiers, don't really care about the rest of the figs. I too want the Iron Hill Soldiers! We've had enough Elf, But other figs would be good too The ones like Dain, New Company dwarves, Bolg, Bain, New Bilbo etc And no sadly, this is the last wave Quote
Floundie Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I really don't want any more elves... I'd much rather have Iron hill dwarves and the main characters we're missing. So pretty much as kevkipo said. Alfadas, we don't know for certain but it's certainly very likely this wave will be the last for the middle-earth theme. Best but unlikely case scenario we will get another wave of LOTR. I don't see why we would need another Hobbit wave, all three waves have covered pretty much everything major from the films, there's only minor scenes like the Trolls that missed out. Quote
Alfadas Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Yeah, I was afraid this would be the last wave , but this get's me the opportunity to complete the collection, at least from the Hobbit. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) I know this technically belongs in the game thread, but since the set version will assumably be based on the in-game one, I'll post them here anyway (credits go to brickipedia) Can't wait to see more Edited March 26, 2014 by Lego-Freak Quote
Fives Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 FINALLY! I've not been posting for a while due to the apparent lack of real news, but here we are! Smaug looks much better in these images than in the video game cover art. I'm very satisfied with this. Quote
Floundie Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 WOW that looks awesome!!! I'm glad we finally got a proper view of his head! Quote
kevkipo Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Is that from a video or something? I sure wanna see it! IT LOOKS FANTASTIC! There's also a picture with Thorin's key And this Anyone knows what scene this is from? Quote

I see absolutely no problem with either of those figures; just curious why you would think either is crap? MEA one. The leg print is wrong, the torso print isn't right, and on top of that they reused haldir face once again. --- Smaugs crown still seems to be wrong still... And I find it a bit dissapointing they don't print more details. Anyone knows what scene this is from? It's the unearthing of the arkenstone. The videogame does it a little diferently than the movie ;) Quote

Okay :) i found it weird because Bofur wasn't even there :P Quote
Floundie Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) I guess that proves the arkenstone will just be a plain trans blue tile. Or is there printing? Edited March 26, 2014 by Floundie Quote

Darth Caedus Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Assuming that Dain and Bolg and perhaps Alfrid are coming in the TABA wave, and knowing that we're getting Bain, Galadriel, Witchking, and Elrond, I'd love for a Hobbit CMF series to be (in the impossible reality where that happens): 1. Thror (w/ Nauglamir chest) 2. Thrain (regal not insane) 3. Lindir (figwit) 4. Fimbul (deep brown orc) 5. Narzug (cornrow orc) 6. Mirkwood Elf Border Patrol (medium armor and faceshroud) 7. Mirkwood Elf Armored Warrior (prologue of AUJ) 8. Erebor Soldier (prologue of AUJ, with spear and shield) 9. Braga 10. Girion (with sword) 11. Sauron (fiery FOTR prologue style form) 12. Iron Hills Dwarf (armored) 13. Rivendell Knight 14. Dol Guldur Orc (armored) 15. Twilight Nazgul (generic, not Witchking) 16. Man of Dale (prologue of AUJ) Edited March 27, 2014 by Darth Caedus Quote
deskp Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) 7, 12, 14 might happen in bo5a set. atleast one of those should be expected in that set. 6: Those are the palace guards. 7: The prologue elves are also the bo5a elves. Edited March 27, 2014 by deskp Quote

Darth Malgus Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 At least there is some traction in this series going forward. Hope for some LOTR news sooner or later, either way. Quote

kevkipo Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 It's next year or never.. Indeed. But let's talk about that on the LOTR page On other news the Lego The Hobbit game is only 10 days away :D We'll get a lot of figure previews... and Smaug! I hope the biggest set has the Forge... that would make a great action scene! The Throne and the Arkenstone are a great addition too! I wish i could go a few month's ahead in time and see the sets, then take pics and show them to you lads Quote
Godless-Mimicry Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 We'll get a lot of figure previews That's not necessarily true. Look at the wealth of figs in the LoTR game and look at how many exist in reality. Many of the figs in the game have differences to the real thing also. Even where locations are concerned, many locations that are kits were still graphic produced in the game, such as the Black Gate, instead of being brick built. The difference between the Hobbit and LoTR of course as well is that the Hobbit doesn't have nearly the wealth of characters, even in the films. Most of the characters added to the game will never see a real-life minifig. Quote

The wave 2 lotr figs was mostly the same as we had seen in the game. this is another situation like that, thats all Kevikipo meant The video games always makes locations in non-lego its how their style works. I thought he was under the impression that things bein present in the game indicated a minifig would be produced. As for the locations, that was kind of my point; that the games aren't necessarily don't necessarily tie in always. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 well there is always the bonus level that has locations made out of bricks.... But that might not be added yet as there still is film 3.. Quote
