BrickBob Studpants Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 And here's Galadriel: @deskp: It doesn't look that much like Arwen's face IMO, so the upcoming minifig might look like that I was expecting her to have Elrond's hairpiece in yellow/tan since it matches pretty well Quote
kevkipo Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Theres lots of gameplay videos from the game on youtube now. The only Characther I've seen so far that i think is directly from the upcoming sets is the Witch king. Galadriel I really doubt is taken from the sets. in game she got yellow Elrond hair and what looks like Arwen's face Witch king picture imminent: The reason I think hes from the sets: 1 The crown is FAT, lego dosent really make thin molds, but the videogame sometimes does. 2 All the print is new. NOT from lotr game. 3 It looks really good - It should be noted that the crown does not look like it does in AUJ, but They used the wrong crown in that movie. - Am I sure it's the real deal? obviously not, but lets speculate! I can't see the picture? And here's Galadriel: @deskp: It doesn't look that much like Arwen's face IMO, so the upcoming minifig might look like that I was expecting her to have Elrond's hairpiece in yellow/tan since it matches pretty well Oh now i see it :P Looks nice! wesker Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Love the new Galadriel. Much better than the plain one that was in the LOTR videogame. Hopefully this is the version we'll be getting in the set. Now if only we can get Eowyn... Quote
Robert_88 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Using the same mold for Galadriel makes sense. The Witch King looks good! (but I still want the LotR version) ;) Quote

deskp Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) There might be a very sneaky peek at Elrond new (3rd) armor in the hobbit game. Reports on preview footage of TABA says Elrond is in gold armor. Reports from toy fair said Elrond was in gold armor. The videogame shows Elrond in a new armor. I assume this is the TABA set one. But they only give use small glimpses, presumably they forgot to change it out, after adding in all the new LEGO designs to begin with. Edited April 6, 2014 by deskp Quote
Floundie Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Okay, I gotta stop checking here and spoiling everything from the game. But Galadriel looks good. I thought they might use Elrond's hairpiece, and I like it. Gold Elrond makes sense because the toy fair report said he looked most like the polybag version. And witch king looks nice! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I've just seen the screenshot of the Witch-King and indeed, he looks at least 2 million times better than the LOTR game version I'm so glad they got rid of that horrible nose, now that looked really dumb He does remind me of Emperor Palpatine however... deskp Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) Any Sam minifgure "It's your Sam" Assuming youre talking about lotr Sam? https://www.flickr.c...157639070449966 Anyways there is another thread for LOTR lego talk __ Bolg in the game looks very bad. I would rather have no physical Bolg than getting that. And I'm reasonably sure lego won't be producing this version atleast. reminder what movie Bolg looks like: Edited April 6, 2014 by deskp Quote

deskp Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Now we're waiting for Bain, Alfrid, and more of smaug. With a potential to see if they out in an unique orc army at dol guldur. Quote
Floundie Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Okay I can't say I really like that Bolg. I think a molded head that fits over the orc shoulder pads would look a whole lot better. Maybe he looks like that because the folks at TLG didn't have enough time to finish his design in time for the game. Other than the weird head though the printing looks really great. Again, he looks good in white but it would looks so weird with tan Azog. Quote
TheWorldAhead Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Concerning Galadriel's hairpiece: I'm pretty sure it will be a new mold, combining the waviness of Arwen's hair with a circlet similar to Elrond's. That's because I don't think it's so easy to recolor those specialized rubber elements. I could be wrong, but I don't think there's ever been one of those special hairpieces repurposed in a different color (the Saruman/Gandalf the White distinction was just a bit of grey printing)--so if a new color demands a new piece, it might as well be a more Galadriel-perfect mold. A propos of "new color," I REALLY hope her hair is tan-colored, not that ridiculous new dandelion-yellow that, IMO, ruined so many minifigures such as Legolas, Luna Lovegood from "Harry Potter," and Willie and Elsa from "Indiana Jones." At least Thranduil's was better. Also, with the dramatic increase of double-sided capes in the past year and a half, Galadriel could easily have one that is white on one side and grey on the other. So, those are my random thoughts on the Galadriel minifigure. I cannot wait for that smallest TABA set! Quote

Fully agree, with a molded head, like the one of Azog, they could make a decent minifig for Blog as the printing and the shoulder armor is pretty nice. Quote
azog15 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) I really hope that is just a bad angle of Bolg Cool new look at Smaug! Edited April 7, 2014 by azog15 Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Hm, I'm not sure what to think of that picture of Bolg... I'll reserve judgement until we get better pics For some weird reason, the face in this particular screenshot bears a striking resemblance to Frodo's scared face: Quote
kevkipo Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) http://youtu.be/5WXGyWcd-bY Here you can see Bear Beorn better, You can see that he's defenitly a new mold. He has a big MohawkAnd Scars around his eyesat 2:20 Btw Edited April 7, 2014 by kevkipo Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 @kevkipo: Thanks for the link! Interestingly, they mashed the scenes of Bolg bringing his message to Azog and the latter meeting with Sauron... Probably because of the "you promised me his head" part What is that red part beneath Bolg's mouth supposed to be? That looks really weird Quote
deskp Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 What is that red part beneath Bolg's mouth supposed to be? That looks really weird its supposed to be his blood drool, but they did an awful job, he looks like he has a swollen lip or something. Complete lack of finesse. Quote

But Beorn looks good :D do you guys think we will get him in a set? Quote
Cammo Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I don't really mind the design actually. The only things I would change are some more wrinkels/scars around his mouth and change the unscarred eye to black: Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I dunno if somebody post this information beforme me, but on brickipedia is this kind of info, that 79018 set is called "The King under the mountain" and it will be the "first" set with Smaug. Also it contains 858 pcs (but we already know that) so it will probably depicts Bilbo´s scene with Samug in treasure room, and there will be probably the main throne of Thror with arkenstone. So probably Smaug will be only evil character in there, there should be some skeletons, treasure chambers, pillars, etc - (I expect design as Mines of Moria). To figs - Bilbo probably in blue coat from lake town or with mithril coat. Thorin, and 4-5 dwarfs with new printing. To Bolg: head design is really terrible, those plates should be inside not outside his head, face is complete mistake. So I hope that this Bolg is only for videogame not for sets. :) BTW smallest set form TABA will include only 2 minifigs acording to brickipedia: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/79015_There_and_Back_Again_set Galadriel and Witch King Quote
Cammo Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Is it confirmed that we'll only get these 4 sets? (I silently hope for a unannounced set à la Diagon Alley.) Quote
