Alfadas Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 That would be my dream set yes :) 2 Iron Hillers and Dain, what could go wrong? But you have to give the Elven fans something you know... Yeah, you are right. I wouldn't mind an elf or two, if it wouldn't replace Iron Hill dwarfs. Maybe instead of 3 orcs, 2 orcs and an elf? That could work, right? We keep the dwarfs fans happy, and make the elf fans happy. Or, include the elves in other sets. But I guess we will have to wait till the pics of the sets are released. Quote

That would indeed work, as 2 orcs are the standard 1 elf, 1 dwarf and 2 orks. No way, in a 60 dollar set? 1 dwarf? We need Dain and Soldiers do you know that? Quote
LegoThomas Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 No way, in a 60 dollar set? 1 dwarf? We need Dain and Soldiers do you know that? I just wanted to point out, that we need more orks ( a lot) than dwars and elves. Like uruk hai army 2 good vs 4 evil. Quote

It would be a great WASTE to put in more Orcs, in the slots of Dwarf Soldiers that we don't even have seen. Orc's are in a LOT of sets, We need more Dwarf and less Orc in these sets. and i think a lot of people on this Forum agree Quote
wesker Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Yeah the last wave gave us plenty of orcs in three sets - two of which were cheap enough to buy multiples of. The priority should be with the dwarves. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I agree, the only Orc we really need now is Bolg Even though the Orcs that we got in the last wave were not really supposed to be soldiers, they could easily be turned into ones by giving them already existing helmets. I don't think TLG would "waste" a mold on a new Orc helmet when there's plenty of other new molds in that wave that need to be dealt with (the Witch-kings crown, Bolg's metal plates, hopefully Dwarven and Elven helmets and of course Smaug). BTW, I've been looking for new clues across the interwebs and needless to say, it was pretty much in vain The only new bit of information I found is a site that claims that 79018 includes 866 pieces, i.e. 8 pieces more than previous sources reported: http://www.speelgoednl.nl/lego-79018-hobbit-lego-the-hobbit-set-4 Hooray... Godless-Mimicry Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Just to throw my hat in the ring, I'd prefer more Dwarfs and/or Elves than Orcs also. Quote
deskp Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) Cant we get 1 of each + Dain? Lake-man, Dwarf soldier, Elf soldier, Orc soldier, Eagle + Dain ironfoot? Then throw Bolg in for good measure. Edited April 11, 2014 by deskp Quote
Floundie Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I think 9 figs is reasonable, so I'd want: Dain, Bolg, Dwarf x2, Elf x2, Lake-Towner, Orc x2. Now how many sets I'll buy, I don't know. 85 bucks is steep for an army builder. Btw I compiled lots of pics of Bolg from the game so you can see his back printing and whatnot. I think i'm starting to like him. I noticed he has boot printing. And his mace design is really cool, good thinking using Ninjago pieces. Though I suppose we'll end up getting something cruddy like Azog's big black club. I honestly think he's a good fig on his own, but not when compared to Azog. Quote
wesker Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 9 seems a little too much. I don't think the number of minifigures will change much compared to previous waves. Would be nice to have that many though. My predictions on what we might see: Dol Guldur (3 minifigures) - Galadriel - Elrond (gold armour from game) - Twilight Witch-King Lake-Town (roughly 4 minifigures) - Bard (new costume from game) - Bain - Bolg - Tauriel (new costume from game) or Legolas. Wouldn't rule out getting both. Battle of Five Armies (6 minifigures plus 1 molded creature) - Dain - 5 soldiers (Orcs/Dwarves mostly) - Beorn in bear form Erebor (6-7 minifigures plus 1 molded creature) - Bilbo - Thorin - Smaug - A couple of the more important dwarves (Balin, Kili, Fili etc) - Possibly Gandalf and/or armoured Thranduil (reusing Elrond/Galadriel's hairpiece in tan) Quote

If it turns out to be a main character heavy set, 6 (Like Dol Guldur) makes sense. (Dain, Thranduil, Thorin, Azog etc.) But if it's an army builder like Mirkwood Army on a larger scale I can imagine 9 figs would make more sense, a 50% increase from non army builder sets at that price point. I hope you kinda see what I'm saying. Quote
Mr. Cube Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 That Bolg´s headpiece is nice and it could be very useful for custom orc armies, but I would prefer molded Bolg similar to Azog. Quote

It's a dutch site... can't trust those people here :P one site claimed an Eagles nest set... for LOTR! I think we can all safely say that at least 2 or 3 dwarves are a MUST have in the BO5A set, Dain and 2 soldiers and you'll have me satisfied Quote

The club looks great indeed, too bad it's apparently impossible to replicate it in reality since there's no piece I can think of that can connect the shurikens the way they're connected here A small bar would probably do the trick, but even the shortest one (3L) is too long for that @kevkipo: The speculation that was going on back then was hilarious And it gets even better: 79007 is still called "Eagles Nest" on brickshop.nl (http://www.brickshop...agels-nest.html) @Gibbon: You're probably right, that would work too Edited April 11, 2014 by Lego-Freak Quote

And when lego do boot printing, the whole leg is colored like the boot, and the fflesh is printed on, wich leaves you with the back of the leg the same color of the boot. Theres also the thing that movie Azog also wears boots, but lego didn't give him boots. In the DC game msot figs had added, boots, why would the game add boots to Bolg and not Azog? Also his metal head piece in the game, does not connect around the stud, wich means it would be fragile, or if its rubber it could easyly loose it's shape and not fit on the stud anymore. I just don't think the videogame Bolg is something we'll see in a set. Laketown set: Tauriel, Bain, Bard, + Laketown guard and or an Orc (if they make new armored orcs they could put one in here, tauriel was figthing orcs in laketown after all, and and this would give people a way of increasing their orc army, and it would be more popular putting in the new armored orc than resuing the hunter orc again). The videogame shows us figures from the 2 smaller sets, but nothing from BO5A or Erebor (except smaug) I'm thinking they didn't get access to the figs from these 2 sets yet, or they are purposfuly keeping away uintill the dlc. Lego won't make any new dwarven helmets for sure. The iron hill dawrves will have the same helmet Gimli has. We can be pretty sure about that. Why can we be pretty sure about that? Quote
Gibbon Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Why can we be pretty sure about that? I would be more than surprised to see a new dwarven helmet coming out specially for the Ironhill dwarves. Lego is not quite good at offering a wide range of new pieces to make the fans happy. If you check the screenshots from the video game you could see the dwarf guardian having a Gimli helmet in a different colour (I know that it is Erebor and not Iron Hills but it doesn't matter to much). I really think that we are going to have the same for the Ironhill soldiers. I just don't think the videogame Bolg is something we'll see in a set. I really hope that you will be right about that, I do not want Lego to disappoint me with this weird Bolg fig. Quote
Godless-Mimicry Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Not only that but the Dwarf soldiers in the game has Gimli's helmet but in silver. Quote

And I agree with you about that version of Bolg not appearing in a set. It just doesn't quite live up to the standards of other Hobbit minifigs. Quote
deskp Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Okay, I may be wrong but as far as I can tell he has the same mace in the film as in the promo pictures of old design Bolg. Yeah you are wrong, new design is all metal and had like 4 edges, old was 3 metal edges and had alot of bone on it. Quote
legofreak86 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Call me crazy but judging by the pricing I wouldn't be surprised if the BO5A set was based on a notable scene from the movie and not a pure army builder. I may be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw ruins of dale, an eagle, bear beorn with Thranduil (armour), Dain Ironfoot, 2 orcs, Gandalf with rad's staff and sword (maybe with scars to mix it up a bit), 1 elf soldier, 2 dwarf soldiers. Then Lego fulfil their apparent need to include main characters in sets so kids understand what is going on ( I was in a Lego shop yesterday for a while and I saw more than a few turn their noses up at the beorn set) most of my younger friends (10-16) at the swimming club I compete in couldn't even recollect beorn from the desolation. I would think Lego would have to shove at least one well known to kids character in and If like in the production blog they see Gandalf and thranduil fighting in dale in the film they will probably remember them best in that scene. Just a hunch. I reckon lake town will be: Bofur, Bard (blue jacket), Bain, Bolg, Kili (armour taba), Fili (armour),with the wind lance tower. Dol Guldur: Witch king, Elrond (armour), Galadriel with Dol Guldur ruin part. Erebor: Thorin (Taba armour), Bibo (Blue Jacket and mithril shirt?), Balin (armoured?), Bombur (armoured), Gloin (armoured), Dwalin (armoured), Dori (armoured), Nori (armoured), Ori (armoured) and an exclusive king thror minifigure set I'd imagine as people have said is like the forges, mine carts, the throne walkway and of course Smaug the dragon. That's the way I can see it going.
