deskp Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) ^ but bo5a will be the main attraction of the movie. People will recognizze it without the main characters. Beorn set wasnt even based on the movie. That said, I think 2 main characters is enough in that set. But I kindof think it'll be Legolas in his travel clothes, since we're getting Tauriel in laketown (presumably) and Legolas is more popular I think. The worst thing that could happen to this set: Gandalf, Thorin, Azog, Bilbo, More of company Imagine how Glorious a Gandalf-free wave would be! Edited April 11, 2014 by deskp Quote
Seaber Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 My PS3 copy of the game comes with an exclusive armoury dlc for PS3 and PS4 only. Do any other systems have exclusive stuff? I seem to remember only PS3 had the Faramir and Barrow-wight pack for LotR. Quote

Floundie Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 But maybe the Beorn set is for TABA? as he's going to free Gandalf? I think it's a deleted scene from DOS where Beorn goes to investigate at Dol Guldur. Quote
Mahtion Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I hope Lego will not put legolas anywhere in wave 3. His clothes are barely different than LOTR, Lego would just reuse or update the print. Much rather have armored Thranduil who will do a lot of fighting and will be memorable. We just got legolas in a movie combo pack with a useless polybag. No more legolas! Quote
deskp Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 But maybe the Beorn set is for TABA? as he's going to free Gandalf? A certain council would disagree. Quote
Mahtion Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 ^^ yeah Galadriel doesn't need Beorn to save Gandalf! Quote
Floundie Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I thought it was funny how the black arrow in the game is a flick fire missile with a spike on the end. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how it turns out in the set. It would be cool to get one designed for the new spring loaded launchers. Quote
kevkipo Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I've been playing the game alot, and i just love the Orcrist. It is such a missed oppertunity that we didn't get him, it just pictures Thorin! it could have been in a LOT of sets: Attack of the wargs Mirkwood Spiders (for Leggy) Lake Town (I know it wasn't there but the whole set scene wasn't there so as thorin is in that set...) Goblin King battle (It could have been lying in a barrel) Mirkwood Elf army (The Elves could have used it as multiples, as elven swords) So much missed oppertunities Hopefully Brickforge or Brickarms will show up with an Orcrist just like the Glamdring they did R.I.P Orcrist Quote
Mahtion Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Yes, that was my biggest dissapointment with Hobbit Legos. Orcrist was such a great and unique sword mold. More mistakes lego used with this theme, it's just wasted potential like missing Gondor in LOTR or a Balrog or Witchking. Quote

I can't see Lego thinking it would be a good idea to instruct us to make flick fires pointier. "Hey billy look at this" "Ow! My eye!" Granted those new spring missiles aren't exactly the height of ocular safety. Although I suspect most of them launch themselves into vast uncharted corners of the room never to be seen or heard from again, within minutes of unpacking. Quote

Yeah I don't think this guy would appreciate one of these to the eye: It does look okay though. A simple but effective design. Quote
bachamn Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Hopefully Brickforge or Brickarms will show up with an Orcrist just like the Glamdring they did Glad you mentioned that, I had no idea anyone had made any accessories to accompany the LotR themed LEGO stuff. Found it on Brickforge, and also the 'Wizard's Staff' which appears to be modeled after Gandalf's staff in the films. Edited April 12, 2014 by bachamn Quote
Mahtion Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 I suggested that brick forge make an orcrist in their message board. I don't think they listened but I hope someone makes one. The closest I found to orcrist was the falcata or kukri knives. Quote

kevkipo Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Btw guys, These soldiers are gonna be fighting in BO5A Quote
Alfadas Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 That fig looks amazing! Can't wait to have a few of them. They will be in the sets right? Otherwise I would be very dissappointed. Quote
deskp Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Btw guys, These soldiers are gonna be fighting in BO5A Well kindof, the lake town people put on gear and use weapons found in the Dale armory. Lego won't be producing them. Edited April 12, 2014 by deskp Quote

deskp Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) How do you know? The design in game is not made by lego. And why would they make another helmet thats 90% the same as laketown guard helmet. waste. If they were gonna make these guys that would have been the helmet mold they would make, and then recolor it for Laketown guards. Laketown guards can have helmets without the fishtale, but Dale soldier cant have a helmet with a fishtale. Edited April 12, 2014 by deskp Quote
