SMC Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 add beorn bear to 79017, will it be unlikely to get more than one animal mould in a set? I don't need another Eagle as I have 3 bet guess we have not got them in a hobbit set yet. Quote
wesker Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 That indeed sounds perfect, but i would change the Erebor part No Kili, Fili and Bofur... for me at least that wouldn't make sense. and why did you choose the random Ori and Gloin? I think an Armored Ori is the last thing i want :P but those are of course your choises! They're inclusion makes sense if Erebor's design and play features are based on scenes from both the second and third movies. Like how the Death Star covered both ANH and ROTJ. And if not... well since when has screen accuracy mattered that much to Lego with character selection anyway? Either way Kili and Fili should both be somewhere in the next wave solely because of their importance to the story of the third film. We already got all 13 dwarves in the first wave. Rather than get all 13 again or waste slots on the pointless characters like Dori and Bifur who spend the whole movie in the background not saying a word, they should stick with the dwarves that actually matter. Floundie Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I put Ori and Gloin because I needed two random dwarves. Maybe Dori and Oin instead? As for Fili and Kili I see Erebor as the only set they can be put in if Lake town is filled up. Yes the set can be based on events from DOS, but with BOFA figures. I believe in the movie all the dwarves will end up at Erebor eventually so It makes sense to me. Quote

There's a point there, but like Wesker said maybe add some Dwarves that are more in the Spotlight. if you both are right and it will be featured on both BO5A and DOS then i would like to see it like this: (btw i expect like 9 figs) Blue Coat Bilbo BO5A Thorin BO5A Balin (Someone noticed he cries in every movie? so sad!) BO5A Dwalin BO5A Kili BO5A Fili BO5A Bofur BO5A Nori BO5A Bombur (He talks with Bilbo on the overlook inside Erebor, for me that was important) And of course good ol Smaugie Quote
Themadpatter Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Dori is more prominent than the majority of dwarves in DOS, as he say things at Beorns, Mirkwood, barrels, Lake town and is also noted as the best fighter in the company by official guides Quote
Hammerhand Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I agree that Dori was more prominent. It seemed like most every scene with the company featured him somehow, especially once at Erebor. I thought it a bit odd, and wondered if there was a reason he was shown so much (not that I'm complaining.) He may not have been talking in every scene, but he was up front in a lot of the shots, so I would expect him to be in the Erebor set. Plus he's one of my favorite dwarves. Quote
Steph 104th Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 He has a great minifig but he is my least favorite dwarf Quote
kevkipo Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) He has a great minifig but he is my least favorite dwarf Why that so? mine is Ori its just a little kid that you want to smack a cookie in the face (Sorry for all the Ori fans ) Edited May 10, 2014 by kevkipo Quote

I think a lot of that in the movies is not so much the character Dori as the actor Mark Hadlow, who by all accounts seems very charming and personable and possibly has the most history and longest standing relationship with Peter Jackson than anyone else in the main cast. You might notice that Hadlow is pretty much the go to guide on all of the assorted behind the scenes videos included as bonus materials. Especially the stuff about the actors learning to be dwarves. kevkipo Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 My favourites would probably be Bofur, and Thorin i just think they are awesome Quote
Hammerhand Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I don't think it's been posted here yet, but the Hobbit videogame all cut-scenes is up on YouTube. Kind of fun to see all the characters in a lego version. Kind of odd, but I noticed the orc who goes to kill bilbo/thorin in the warg attack/tree scene has the CMF sumo wrestler's hair piece. Quote
