Brick Fiend Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I am not here to create any enemies, the information is from the site that has the list of the trailers for the Blockbusters of 2014. Maybe they derived the information from the one ring.net My apologies for any misinterpretations. No need to apologise for something you haven't done. Thanks for sharing the information. Quote

Maybe they derived the information from the one ring.net My apologies for any misinterpretations. Why are you apologizing Steph 104th? This is a forum. All previous 80 pages have pretty much been filled of speculation. Anyways . . . I agree with you, theonering.net , or any other sites online that we most likely wont see a trailer until July. Quote
kevkipo Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I am not here to create any enemies, Where did you get that from? You just shared something you tought was important? and maybe your right! Maybe it will launch on July 20, let's just wait and see... Quote
Steph 104th Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Sorry, i obviously misinterpreted your original post Anyway is anyone here heading to Comic Con, I don't live in the states so I wont be able to attend but it will be nice if someone could give us a proper description of the sets and their minfigures. Apposed to what we already know as well as the not very descriptive descriptions on the internet from people who have already seen them. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 @Steph 104th: We usually get a few official pictures (last year's were all CG though) and a couple of pictures taken by attendees I think FBTB provided a few last year, perhaps they'll do it again But based on the last two SDCCs, we don't really expect more than one set to be shown. We believe it'll be the Smaug set due to its iconic nature Quote
kevkipo Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Anyway is anyone here heading to Comic Con, I don't live in the states so I wont be able to attend Same here pal, sometimes it gets a little bit lonely in Europe All the fun stuff happens in "Murica if you ask me attendees Attendees wink? Are you going Lego-Freak? We believe it'll be the Smaug set due to its iconic nature YUSH! Don't worry we don't need a discription, like Lego-Freak said we get pictures by attendees and CG, I believe with LTC we also got a MTV review? Do i remember correctly? EDIT: would you look at that http://www.fbtb.net/2013/07/19/sdcc-lego-the-hobbit-lake-town-chase-revealed/ And here's what the picture(s) looked like: While typing my post i tought hey, wasn't the Lake-Town chase set a big spoiler too? Maybe they will be showing the second largest set of wave 3? but then again it would show Dain... Meh i dont know :P Edited June 19, 2014 by kevkipo Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 @Kevkipo: I'm not attending myself, I just like to use smileys I still think it's unlikely that the Bo5A set is going to be the one getting revealed (despite being the second-to-biggest set of the wave) because the Smaug set makes more sense marketing-wise Bag's End and Lake-town were probably chosen for two reasons: 1) they represent iconic/ important locations and 2) they were the biggest spoiler-free sets in their respective waves. The Goblin King Battle and the Dol Guldur Battle both wouldn't have made much sense as would the Bo5A set (despite appearing in the eponymous movie). According to the Toy Fair reports, 79018 seems to based on the final scenes of DoS, so it's both spoiler-free and iconic Quote
deskp Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 You would imagine everyones gagging to bank in on smaug, since last year noone could show him. Quote
Faefrost Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Let's not forget that the sets they use for the reveal also tend to have the most and the broadest visual appeal. Bag End and Lake Town are nice complete feeling settings and scenes unto themselves, whereas much of the rest tended to be more scenery with Minifigs. I think the best option for that this time will be Smaug. Quote

Bag End and Lake Town are nice complete feeling Yeah, and that's kinda also why i tought of the BO5A set, i expect it will look like Dale? But i guess your right with the biggest! i love to get a peak at those minifigs! and of course Smaugie! Im glad it will not be the Dol Guldur one... You would imagine everyones gagging to bank in on smaug, since last year noone could show him. Yeah, people are zooming in on Smaug like a bee to honey. But i have high expectations that we also get a MTV review this year Quote
Shroffy123 Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Do you think TLG will create a warpig mold for Dain Ironfoot? Quote
kevkipo Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Do you think TLG will create a warpig mold for Dain Ironfoot? Well i would that, at first i had my doubts And you know what's funny? i came here to post this! Well if that will be a mold... NICE Quote
Fives Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 kevkipo, that looks like fan art. Knowing how PJ tends to design some things that disregard expectations (Beorn, the goblins), who knows what the boar could look like (I mean, its Middle-Earth. Animals don't always look the same as they do here). Quote

Steph 104th Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 It's true origin can be traced to Peter Jackson. It is one of millions of sketches he had his design team create in preparation to making this trilogy, he instructed his team to sketch out every detail of the book. This could be seen in the collectors edition of The Unexpected Journey s behind the scenes. Don't get your hopes up though, hoping that he will look like that, because as earlier stated this only concept art. For example Dwalin origionaly had a mowhawk. Quote

Well he technically does have a mowhawk, it's just his younger version that has it. You can see it in the first Hobbit movie when they are battling at Moria (I think) Quote

You can see it in the first Hobbit movie when they are battling at Moria (I think) Yep. It's real clear in the flashback scenes. Of course there is a difference between preliminary character art. Which changes and evolves as they fill the roles and they see what works best on the actor, and concept art for what are ultimately FX. I am sure whether or not we see War Pigs depends heavily on effects, budgets, and ultimately whether or not it just looks silly. While I am normally a pessimist, if the pigs make the movie, I would not be surprised to see one or more in the sets. It's the sort of thing we fans will buy a set just to get. Quote
Blakstone Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 While I would like a warpig, I doubt LEGO would justify the expense of them. They were able to reuse the wargs in the second wave. Instead all of that budget likely went into Smaug. If we were going to get a warpig, someone would have seen a stand in at the London Toy Fair. Quote

Oh i dont want him to have a Mohawk, he indeed would look too much like Dwalin i want him to look a little bit younger and a little bit like Thorin! Nope, it was made for the game Armies of the third age. I looked it up again, your right i found it on a WB forum with the post titled: Armies of the third age But you never heard me talk about that being for the movie! I said it would be nice if we got a mold for that. Quote
deskp Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Oh i dont want him to have a Mohawk, he indeed would look too much like Dwalin i want him to look a little bit younger and a little bit like Thorin! Maybe he has some mowhawk in a more Beorn style, where he hasnt shaved off the rest. Its interesting that theres basically only 1 character we haven't seen what looks like yet. Quote

But wasn't he also talking about tattoo's on his head? or maybe that was in the beginning when they changed it to Dwalin. To me that sounds logic Quote
