Hey all,

As requested by some, here are some pictures of my ship that I am making from scratch. I would buy some hulls but then there is not really a challenge in furnishing a pre-built hull anyway.

The cannons are frally for an outside view, as I am yet to find a bricklink shop that actually sells cannons, so no luck there. For the captains cabin I'm thinking of using red flowers on the outside for a decorative design, and red criss crossing fences as railing. I shall be making some blood red sails out of fabric and putting two rotating cannons on top.

Mr. Maniac,

You should check out the Index of MOC Cannons for ideas of alternate cannons when one doesn't have enough.

If you wanted your cannon in the index, just take a better pic of it when your parents get back if you'd like.

It's really difficult to have a plated hull. I had the same trouble with my Dame du Loup so i want with a 3x3 facet built hull. Look forward to seeing this completed; hopefully it works out.

Hey what country are you in right now? Someone might be able to find some cannons for on BL.

The most pertinent of which: is this going to be a pirate or privateer's ship? And is there a sovereign nation?

What type of duties will the ship be performing?

What type of crew is she gonna have?( a rag-tag bunch, or a bunch of uniformed dudes)

It's a pirate ship, hence the colour scheme, it's the same as most of my vrew, and it's going to be non-stop pillaging!

And I checked the index, and I have none of the parts required for the cannons there either, and I have been browsing for cannons for some time now. I'll just order them from the US.

The HMS Bloodlust!

Although there's a slight discrepancy with the HMS since it stands for His/Her Majesty's Ship which would mean the vessel was commissioned by a monarch. So technically the captain would be a privateer, although he would still be a pirate to the enemy nations.

And a black/red color scheme can never be bad!

Now I try to find a suitable name for the ship.

Maybe "Sea Devil" or "Dark Pearl" :-D.

I live in the UK, and one of the best shops on briclink is in my hometown! I've already ordered from them but they don't have anything really piratey though :(

I think these stores in the UK with shooting cannons or cannon base may have some piratey elements ;-)

My favorite name for a pirate ship is the Queen Anne's Revenge *y* .

Nice ship so far. The way your hull is designed reminds me of the ship below that is in the ship index. I really like the way this builder finagled the Lego plates to have some super nice lines.

I also like your cannons spacing.

If she has 12 cannons when done she will be a brig sloop.

What era your ship be in? And what waters your ship be pillaging?

Yes I did, it would be good if other used it aswell because then it would be a known association.

I really like the blood lust, but I was thinking about that name because of th red bow, sort of reminded me of a bloody blade.

Pillage away! But Red and Black was used by the French during the golden age of piracy frequently! And both myself and boneparte have been partial to that scheme for Imperial ships ourselves!

As for the name--

Though I think 'Hateful Shark of the West' is uhhh... neat... I like Crimson Blade a little better... never can go wrong with the ol' Adjective-Noun combo punch.

One other famous 'Crimson' name I can think of... 'Crimson Tide', which I believe is a title to a submarine movie that came out in the 90s. Maybe it lacks a little originality, but it might fit with the ship!

You may also wish to give it a name in another language. Like I have a Spanish ship that I wanted to Call 'Revenge' so it is called the 'Venganza'

Yup, so it's UPF Crimson Blade now, otherwise I'd have no other excuse for the red bow except for lack of bricks.

No I'm afraid not, and I don't have an infinate amount of money for bricklink but I will order some when I do.

But she is nearly finished! But when she is I will most probably will make a whole lot of changes to make her better looking and more functional, with working anchor and rudder.

Can do. It's nearly done, I'll probably get it finished tommorow, but can someone please give me a full sized template for sails? I've lost the only sails I had :'-( But I'm making some nice blood red ones :skel1:
