Eraman Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Wow, it's an interesting topic and amazing parts. Congrat! I hope some official lego designer read this topic and use some ideas:) It will be good to see some of this parts in official sets Quote
Tommy Styrvoky Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 here is a interesting idea for a part, Make a watertight compartment for a battery box, IR receiver (probably will need a transparent cover for receiver ) and 2 motors (2 xls or 1 xl and servo. Have outputs for the motors, and allow for easy access to battery box switch. I think that this part would be useful for boat builders because then you wouldn't have to worry about PF parts getting wet. The only problem is to get rubber rings to seal outputs and the main compartment. Quote
efferman Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 to expensive! for this it would be neccessary to have the sames size of three of these boxes Quote
rm8 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 damn, why they are available in polished white? the problem is that the Pieces are to small for polishing. sorry for this mistake. for the 24 tooth 2m diff you have not get this message? it has the same internals, so you will probably get the same message when you contact the people at shapeways and ask if the can modify your order in non polished white and flexible They checked 24 tooth 2m diff in white flexible POLISHED, and it is in production now. Very interesting: why 20t was rejected and z24 was approved?!:) Quote
efferman Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 very strange, it has the same internals. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Hello Efferman, Have a question. Could you design a newer style rim for the old 3739 rim used on the old 8862 backhoe? I am hoping to build the Actros 4150k crane/tipper truck by Brickforge.de, but I do not like the old rims and tyres. Could you design a rim like the 32020 or 86652, but with the same offset as the 3739 rim. I will have to find some third party tyres for it. And could you make rims for driven and non-driven axles, like the real life trucks. The driven axle has a lager center because of the internal gear redution. Christian Quote
Dafgek81 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Hi Efferman, I also have a question about the 2 segment bucket you designed, how big is it, would it fit the truck I mensioned that is shown on brickforge.de? Christian Quote
efferman Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 you want a truck style rim as a replacement for this? if you want use third party tires i have made these rims https://www.shapeways.com/model/1853515/fulda-ecocontrol-rim-front-axle.html?li=my-models&materialId=6 https://www.shapeways.com/model/1853637/fulda-ecocontrol-twin-tire-rim.html?li=my-models&materialId=6 they are made for these tires which have the same diameter like the old 24x43 for the bucket, can you give me a link to the actros? Quote
Dafgek81 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I will try to get you a link. So those rims are about the same size as the old style rims? I think this is the link to the Actros, The MLCAD can also be downloaded there. http://www.brickforge.de/mocs/actros.en.html Quote
efferman Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 the rims are 2mm more narrow and the have walls to hold the tires on the rim, but the main diameter is the same. after at the actros i can say that the two segment bucket on shapeways should fit to the crane Quote
Dafgek81 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Hello Efferman, Thank you for looking in to it. Glad to hear that they would fit. Chrstian Quote
Dafgek81 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Hi Efferman, I also have a question about the high tilt bucket i asked you to dsign, could you make a rendering of how the pneumatic or actuators are mounted on it, like in a complete assembly? Quote
efferman Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 lower crosshole on the bucketholder to the crosshole at the bucket Quote
Doc_Brown Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi effe, I'm really interested in buying these. But they are a little pricey, would they be cheaper if you offered a 4 pack? Thanks. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Really? Oh sorry, the sliding u joint. http://www.shapeways.com/model/2006141/u-joint-with-slide.html?modelId=2006141&materialId=6 Quote
efferman Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 seems the shapeways page was down, so the picture was not working done Quote
olaf9198 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi efferman, I have just taken a look at all the parts, and I like the driven steering hub small. But with the normal female cw joint, I am sadly missing a half stud for connecting these wheels properly http://brickset.com/parts/4297210. Or will these rims fix it? https://www.shapeways.com/model/1785769/six-hole-rime-for-49-5x20.html?modelId=1785769&materialId=6 Quote
Doc_Brown Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Thank you very much! I can't wait to build an off road crawler now, should work just like the real thing. Cheers! Quote
Black-Build Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Efferman, can you maybe (if you have time) design parts for a kind of TRAXXAS E Revo suspension? Quote
efferman Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 black build, have you a link or a picture? today ups has knocked on my door Quote

Black-Build Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Some parts to build suspension like this: http://www.margewebshop.nl/i/1733_img8.jpg For big scale monster trucks (1:10) just like the E-Revo. I found this suspension very hard to make out of lego... Edited July 16, 2014 by Black-Build Quote
