oracid Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) But these are new ones, are'nt they ? I have not seen them before. Could you add 2 of 13 and 2 of 15 ? As the series would be complete. And would it be possible to have them in yellow? I like yellow. My English is not very good. When I say soft, that's the adjective I would use for a tire for example. SNIPE Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Yeah this is what I was thinking but I guess it will be too weak. Quote
efferman Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 yellow is really thin. it has nothing to do with the lego yellow btw, the frontaxle setup of the arocs would be roundabout like this Quote
oracid Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Ok, if yellow is not good I will try blue. But what about the 13 or 15 beams long ? Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Did you also become 3D printed parts from Shapeways so lovely packed? :*** Max... Quote
Dafgek81 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 The light gray part in the middle, where one side of both leafsprings are attached to, is this an existing Technic part? Quote
efferman Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 two times this part and a 3l liftarm. it is part of the load leveling which the arocs have in real life it alows the axles to follow the ground without compressing the springs Quote
Dafgek81 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 And that hub you are using, does that fit the standard rim from the Arocs? Quote
efferman Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 No, i have to integrate the counterpart into the rim. Quote
Nevercallmebyneme Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) I wish I could get instructions for some of these assemblies. Also, how wide does that come to in studs? Edited July 6, 2015 by Nevercallmebyneme Quote
efferman Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) the chassis will have the same width like 42043. and this has 19 studs. The distance between first and second axle has 2 studs more on my chassis. This fits better to the real arocs. btw, full ackermann and the same from an different angle Edited July 6, 2015 by efferman Quote
SNIPE Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 (edited) Actually, those alternating beams are pretty much fine because you can have 2 holes 0L apart by putting one beam on the end of the other to double the lengh, and to have 1L just space the beams apart by 1L or use a longer lengh beam. Fixed pins or axles are not a good idea for those who suggested this - too cumbersome and less compatible with different axles/pins/bars - unlike a pinhole which can do all three. Oh yeah and studs Edited July 6, 2015 by SNIPE Quote
efferman Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 changed it to the original arocs steeering mechanism. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Nice, when you het your hands on the Arocs set, are you putting in This modification? As I told before, I ain't a good builder. So need something to copy with instructions or step by step building pictured. Quote
efferman Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 let me first see what these axles costs. Quote
Nevercallmebyneme Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 19 is too many for what I was thinking about. Quote
efferman Posted July 7, 2015 Author Posted July 7, 2015 indeed, a set for one axle will cost in germany 43-44€ https://www.shapeways.com/product/RL4A7HKJF/axle-driven-and-steered-19w Quote
Dafgek81 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I can feel my wallet bleeding money already!!! Would love to see them all fitted on the Arocs. Can't buy it till next February unfortunately Quote
Richard L aka Scooby Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Wow, Efferman, this is very nice i will defenetly buy them after i bought the Arocs ofcourse. Quote
TheItalianBrick Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Althought I like what you do...I think this will standardise all the trucks from now on! One thing is to create a single different part, one thing is to create a all chassis for a truck! Cm'on guys....use your fantasy and creativity....all these things can be achieved (99%) using normal LEGO parts... Edited July 8, 2015 by TheItalianBrick Quote
efferman Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 the italian brick is right. most of them is buildable by standard bricks and the rear axle which i have posted some posts above is really far away from lego. but the arocs from lego is on the Axles more an M.A.N. Kat 1. no offense it is a great chassis which markus kossman has built, but an arocs has leafsprings or air suspension and this is something where iam be a crazy guy And btw, why not lego give ideas for new parts? the new turntable or the clamshell buckets, are they inspired by the community or do they have them in pipeline for many years? every year lego is publishing a bunch of new parts and using them in some models in a massive way to make the models possible. do you preach a lego designer "build it with classic lego parts, everything is possible with it" ?
