TheItalianBrick Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 the italian brick is right. most of them is buildable by standard bricks and the rear axle which i have posted some posts above is really far away from lego. but the arocs from lego is on the Axles more an M.A.N. Kat 1. no offense it is a great chassis which markus kossman has built, but an arocs has leafsprings or air suspension and this is something where iam be a crazy guy And btw, why not lego give ideas for new parts? the new turntable or the clamshell buckets, are they inspired by the community or do they have them in pipeline for many years? every year lego is publishing a bunch of new parts and using them in some models in a massive way to make the models possible. do you preach a lego designer "build it with classic lego parts, everything is possible with it" ? Efferman In a way I do agree with you....but we all know how much it would cost to realise all the people's wishes! Ok leafsprings are something we would use a lot, but some people asks for parts they only need....and in small quanityty! This year we got longer pneumatics...next time we will get something else! :sweet: Quote
efferman Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 yes, some asking for new parts which are a little bit strange, and even when i have them uploded to shapeways they are never ordered. other things i have made only for myself, are ordered many times in relation how much they cost. It is a border which have everyone have to decide if he jump over it. Quote
Richard L aka Scooby Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I am guilty in this to, i have a budget each month for buying sets and from that budget i'm saving some money to order at shapeways (efferman's designs) some amount of parts in the near future. And the savings not grow quickly some times. But i will order parts in the very near furture. Please don't shoot me Efferman! Quote
efferman Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 today some parts are arrived fortunately i have fromn them only ordered a single part of them because they had some dimension problems. On the diff the two pins which are holding the center bevel gears, are to thin to hold the gears in a proper way. the ball adaptor has a to large inner diameter. both problems are fixed now in the shapeways files now to the victorys the U-Joint with 8z gear works perfekt And the wishbone fits perfect to the frame support. nearly zero play between the wishbone and the ball. And this without beeing to sticky. Quote
Siegfried Meyer Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi Efferman The wishbone is probably the best design, well done and If i could i would incorporate this in every large moc I'm still going to build. Of topic do you know if shapeways ship overseas? to South Africa? Sieg Quote
efferman Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Shapeways is shipping with UPS and i think UPS delivers on nearly every place on this planet when you pay the price. Quote
Siegfried Meyer Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 when you pay the price. Cool So Shipping fees are going to be more than Product think I should move to Europe Quote
Dafgek81 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 This Will look cool on the rear axles of trucks to. And also on the Arocs if it fits. Quote
efferman Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 for the 42043 the wishbone is much to large Quote
Dafgek81 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 So, it must shrink a bit. But would look cool. And also like your spring and axle design for the Arocs. Quote
gevans12 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi efferman, I saw on one of the arocs threads you were talking about a custom outrigger, is that something you designed yourself? Quote
Nevercallmebyneme Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 OMG I want that. Give me it. I want it. Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Give it to him !!! :D :D :D Effe I will make more section boom... What is your Idea to realize that? Max... :) Edited July 9, 2015 by MaxSupercars Quote
gevans12 Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 yes it is my design It's an awesome design, what's the cost to have them manufactured? Quote
efferman Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 actually 9.17€ for germany max supercars i have ideas, but they are expensive Quote
TheItalianBrick Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Effe I will make more section boom... What is your Idea to realize that? On a truck (same scale as the Arocs) I have a Palfinger foldable crane, 3 sections boom, plus 2 sections on the JIB!! so 5 sections!! Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Where can see your solution? Thx... Max... Quote
TheItalianBrick Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Where can see your solution? Thx... Max... Well the crane is ready but waiting for the new pneumatics so then I can complete the moc and show to people! To be honest using lego parts there is not too much we can do fo achieve thin sections....so it's nothing complicated really...but I'll show you! Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Yes, I have counted with that, that sections could not be thin... But did you use sections that are placed co-axial like in 42009 or they are placed one the side of other... You can send me PM if you want not spam this topic... Thx... Max... Edited July 10, 2015 by MaxSupercars Quote
efferman Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 i have made a second type of the outrigger. in opposite to the first one it is fully to motorize. Quote
MaxSupercars Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I see a lot of similarities with 42009 solution... small LA... Max... Quote
Nevercallmebyneme Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Hmm... which version of the outrigger part do you think would look better on the sides of a tank mounted MAC gun as a loading and firing effect? Quote
efferman Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 i dont know, iam not interrested in weapons Quote
