here is an other point of view

Very nice! I think the axle might need to be a bit longer, though. If the hub connection is 1 stud thick where this axle goes through it, there might not be enough of the axle protruding on the other side for a wheel to stay on securely.

the crossaxle section is exactly one stud long. when two are placed together the center of the two balls are 5 studs away from its opponent. i have choosed this to make later a high torque diff.

dhc6, something like this?

Yes, something like that would be perfect. I'm not sure how the steering would be done though. Perhaps the pin holes could be placed vertically instead? I think the ball should also be pointing either up or down to increase turning radius.

These are some really nice drawings you are creating.

thanks daniel

this position is for unsteered axles. rotoate it 90° and it is in position for steering

wich uses are these?

btw, the turntable has arrived. very solid and uneven, so i hav to grind and polish a bit. the tooths of the gear hast to be grinded too, because the 8 tooth fits not perfect on it

indeed, maybe the reason is that i have choosed the cheapest quality. A higher surface quality would cost roundabut 30 percent more. and yes i will make a video

edit:

now the frame is the limit and not the turntable

I am glad you made it in real life! If you were to get the cost down, I would love to buy one. Also, would you be able to a turntable with a locking feature like that on the same scale as the current turntable? That way there would be a strong turntable for smaller creations too.

i think many afols would buy one if it would be cheaper. With 61 euro including tax and shipping it is pretty expensive. but i think without mass production in a mold it will stay expensive.

a smaller turntable with this stability should be possible, but i have to think how.

edit, a cutted view of the optimized turntable

ok, then i have one. the gap is neccessary for assembling. if a standard part prevents moving inwards this solution should be stable. opinions?
