efferman Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 Dafgek, the female towball pins are online Ingmar, buying lego will stop first when iam 6 feet under or my wallet is totally empty. Saberwing, maybe a part which can fit in the new outriggerbox and use it as extendable part? bj51 i have not ordered these rim yet Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 (edited) Cool, thanks!!!! Order them when the buckets are online and my Actros is nearly finished, won't be needing them sooner. Edited February 13, 2016 by Dafgek81 Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Ingmar, buying lego will stop first when iam 6 feet under or my wallet is totally empty. I know, I was just kidding... Quote
efferman Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 the telescopic boom is on a good way i think. But the outer box is still left Quote
aminnich Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 I'm guessing it will be pneumatic? Could a gear rack one be done or isn't that possible? Basically the 42043 outrigger but with another casing and the middle part would have gear teeth on the sides. I don't know. I wish my CAD program is working Quote
efferman Posted February 13, 2016 Author Posted February 13, 2016 theoretical a wormgear driven extension should be possible Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 theoretical a wormgear driven extension should be possible Would This also be useable as a three stage outrigger?? Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 this should be possible But it is a telescopic crane part? Looks nice. When you have it, love to see it used on a crane. Quote
efferman Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 i think the boom design is final Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Could be the image angle, but it seems a little big/bulky for this crane. Is it pneumatically driven? Or can it be made pneumatically driven, with the new 1stud wide v2 pneumatic cylinders? Quote
efferman Posted February 14, 2016 Author Posted February 14, 2016 i have ordered the telescopic parts five minutes ago so i can show you the real life dimensions in roundabout two weeks. And we will see how the 1x11 cylinders work with them. Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Hi Effe, do these little fellows have Friction Ridges Lengthwise? I think, they have to stick in the other part very hard to avoid needless play. Quote
rehnskit Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 What about creating some bigger knob gears that works with the old one. So you can use them for gearing up and down. And create a differential made only with different knob gears. Is this possible? Quote
efferman Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) sorry for answering so late. Tripletschiee The female towballs dont have frictionridges, but they fit without much play. rehnskit, i will make a sketch to get a idea about the dimension edit: a knob 6 would have a diameter of 4 studs. a pretty large Diff this would give Edited February 21, 2016 by efferman Quote
rehnskit Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Big sounds good. So if I understand you correctly. It might be possible to build a big differential with only Lego parts. That would be really nice. I been looking at your Torsen differential. How much rpm/torque can it take? And how much does all of your other gears hold against high power? As I understand your material is stronger then the material Lego is using. But can't you make parts in metal for example differential and gearboxes? But maybe it would be to expensive... Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Tripletschiee The female towballs dont have frictionridges, but they fit without much play. Would it be possible to make thes female fellows also with an axle instead a pin? Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Rehnskit, metal is to expensive and has some size limitations. for the torsen diff you should ask Sariel, he has made a test with it. tripletschiee, sure it is possible, Do you would order some of them? edit: the knob 6 is online Edited February 26, 2016 by efferman Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Hello Efferman, I would like a part to fit to front axle truck rims. It's the ring that protects the nuts from the hub against damaging. It should be something like the 4185 pulley wheel, but without the centre. Just the outer part with the holes. So it has to be fitted on the rim with the 1 1/2 dbg pins. Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 tripletschiee, sure it is possible, Do you would order some of them? Yup! Would be my first custom parts ... Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 ok, then i will make some btw Quote
Cumulonimbus Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Hi efferman, I want to order your wheel covers for the 42030, but I can't choose between the two options: the standard "white strong and flexible" or the "yellow strong & flexible polished". I have ordered your Unimog rims in "white strong and flexible" before and painted them myself, so I understand the finish of the standard material. Now I'm curious about the colour match and finish of the "yellow strong & flexible polished" material. Do you (or anybody here) have a picture of the quality and colour of that material, maybe compared to TLG parts? Thank you in advance. Edited February 26, 2016 by Cumulonimbus Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 order in pure white and search for a matching coulour. the shapeways yellow is in my humbly opinion much to thin. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Hi Efferman, Would this crane section fit on my Actros crane? It is a bigger scale as you know. And can single pneumatic cylinder lift it. Here is a link to the original crane: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=618399 It is made out of old bricks and plates, so it is a bit heavy. And how is the clamshell bucket coming along?? Edited February 26, 2016 by Dafgek81 Quote
