Hrafn Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 weavil, my software is not cracked. i have to learn a new job, because my leg is damaged permanently and i cant do longer my old job. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. To stray off-topic briefly, if physical therapy is an option, I recommend it. It's slow and painful, but it can bring huge results over time. Quote
nikolyakov Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Can you make a center crankshaft piece for radial engines with more than 6 cylinder? Especially for odd numbers like 7,9? Quote
efferman Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) bbqqq did a turntable with 5 blades ... for a helicopter rotor/swashplate ... can that be updated/uploaded to shapeways? Thread is somewhere within the Technic subforum, but can't find it. Edit: Found the thread http://www.eurobrick...pic=90047&st=25 as head something like this? swashplate will follow 5 star von efferman auf Flickr nikolyakov, something like this with 7 holes? jovel Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 A 20 tooth ( thick ) clutch gear would be extremely useful. Quote
efferman Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) i think i have seen this on shapeways https://www.shapeway...ts&materialId=6 the five star head is on shapeways https://www.shapeway...ls&materialId=6 edit: and the swashplate too. works with the 8856 whirlwind rescue swashplate stator https://www.shapeways.com/model/1737736/swashplate-swashplate-for-5-blade-helicopters.html?li=user-profile&materialId=6 Edited February 25, 2014 by efferman Quote
nikolyakov Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 nikolyakov, something like this with 7 holes? Current pulley wheel or model team wheels is not enough travel for pistons but they work. I think you should increase the diameter for 7 cylindir and center must be pin hole for current crank pieces. Quote
efferman Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) is it this what you search for? diameter between axleholes is 5 studs. i can make a working 7 cylinder to test it if you want radial engine crankshaft plate von efferman auf Flickr Edited February 25, 2014 by efferman Quote

efferman Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 thanks guys, the rehabilitation starts in a few weeks Exactly! I wanna see a test if possible. could take some time, i have just realized that all the standard parts which i had actually made are in the wrong scale to make the engine Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) here is a picture of the 7 cylinder, video if wanted is possible sternmotor von efferman auf Flickr i forgot https://www.shapeways.com/model/1740443/two-segment-bucket.html?li=user-profile&materialId=6 Edited February 26, 2014 by efferman Quote
DrJB Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Very nice ... now need a volunteer to design the heptagon (7 sides) structure that'll support all of this. Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 no problem sternmotor von efferman auf Flickr Quote
timslegos Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I really would like to try the turntable but I am worried that it wont end up working out... tim Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 i would try it myself, but actually iam a bit short of money Quote
timslegos Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 What type of finish would work the best? I would think the polished would allow for smoother rotation, but it might make the mounting points too weak. tim Quote
efferman Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 i have ordered one in strong and flexible estimated shiping date is march the 7th. please wait till i have tested it btw, i have new parts online https://www.shapeways.com/designer/efferman Quote
skylinedan Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I,m interested in hearing how the turntable performs as well, I,m currently building a Terex Demag crawler. so far it,s gonna be about 5 feet tall, the LEGO turntable is working, but with it being full R/C it turns a bit hard. Considering how much I go into this build so far, another 50 bucks will be a drop in the bucket. Quote
efferman Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 the big turntable works good under load, the medium i have first to test Quote
skylinedan Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Yeah, I,d need the big one for this monster, lol. Counter weight alone weights about 2 lbs, I got a bunch of stuff ordered from LEGO. soon as it and my BL order get here. I,ll have a better counter weight made. Hope to have it done in the next few weeks, and then I can do a official photo shoot. Quote
nikolyakov Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 no problem sternmotor von efferman auf Flickr Impressive! Thanks for your efforts Quote
Doc_Brown Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Man, these parts look so cool! Great job inventing them. Quote
ritztoys Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 efferman, Thanks so much for creating this custom part, the axle hole needs to cleaned up of the "flashing", left over from printing. A small square profile ' needle file ' will take care of the problem, looking forward to installing. Quote
ritztoys Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Sweet, the axle hole is to tight? Yes, efferman there was some left-over printing material inside the axle hole, nothing too difficult to fix Quote
