Darkkazmo Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Hello every one, This is a contest that I'm currently hosting at FBTB, but after talking to Jipay, and in order to promote some building around, we decided to re-post it over here as well, and hopefully to follow it up with more contests that might strike your interests.... I had this idea of introducing a series of new concept vehicle contests based on the OT Star Wars movies.. I just simply called them the OT New Concept Vehicle Contests, where we the LEGO customizers try to be creative, innovative and competitive to produce some fresh new versions of the actual movie elements that we all loved and adored through out the years. This idea came to me after reading some of the trends we all hyped about (and made fun of) when we knew that Mr. Lucas might continuously keep modifying the OT movies with newer special versions Quote

Darkkazmo Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 Now the contest has officially closed! Thank you guys for taking the time to participate in this creative process. And all I can tell you that there is some great work in there, and I salute for it... The judging will start as soon as my team is ready for it. It may take a bit of time (A week or so, but we'll keep you updated). Great work everybody. :-D Quote
Darkkazmo Posted April 4, 2005 Author Posted April 4, 2005 Well, the judging is almost over, and we all are just waiting for the final scores (after the additions and subtractions)... And I can tell you this, it was hard judging those babies, every entry had it's own philosophy, construction methods, design lines and concept! I salute you guys, many of you had evolved drastically, and if you keep at it at this rate, I predict some major talents will rise above the rest and turn some major heads. The more you build the more your skills will be polished, as long as you try hard to find and work on your own styles... Bravo to all, and I'm really proud to help you out to discover and bring out some of your hidden talents with the help of these contests, my mission here is still young and at it's first steps, and I hope we all grow together as builders and friends with this outrageously expensive hobby. ;) Quote
Darkkazmo Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 Well, the results are finally in! Remember, that we are four judges and every one of us had his own way of looking at things when giving the scores, and the winning entry had the most accumulated points. So... The big winner here in the minifig scale is: Mike Psiaki. (The prize winner) Second place: Schism. Third place: ApophisV. As for the MINI scale, I felt that I would give away a small complimentary prize for the best one made, and Pepa-Quin's was the chosen entry. The prizes are SW EPIII sets: In the minifig scale: $ 14.99 Droid Tri-Fighter set # 7252. In the MINI scale: $ 6.99 Darth Vader Transformation # 7251. It may take me few weeks to get the sets and ship them to you, so Mike and Matt, please PM your addresses. And of course CONGRATULATIONS. :D Now, I will post my own personal top three entries: 1- Huffy 1968. Best resemblance and clean construction. 2- Mike Psiaki. Best color scheme and style. 3- Pepa-Quin. Best overall construction and abstract design. Again, it was very tough to decide what was the best one, but somebody had to win this, so we had to rely on the numbers. Congratulations to all for pulling out some very decent stuff, and hope to see more of your amazing MOCs in the upcoming contests. Cheers Joseph Quote
