Why it had to be March??? Well the positive thing is that it gives us more time to collect more money untill then.

Here's my latest story:

I went to the LEGO store today but got so caught up in identifying minifigs (new series) that I forgot about the "Juniors pirate set" until I had already paid...

On my way out I remembered, but I'll have to get back there tomorrow (ok, this might give me one of the additional giveaways for the extra purchase).

The minifig I am trying to find is the new king (just great). Unfortunately he is hard to find.

What about the Goblin fig??Is it hard to find??Hopefully not He's my favorite from the whole line.

Ok, it is a bit aside from the topic, but since you've asked:

The Goblin is not so difficult to find, as you have three roundish things: head, hatpiece (with ears) and the bag.

(and then the massive sword). It also seems that there are enough Goblins in a box.

Today!!!

So today I got the junior pirate set (10679).

It is actually ok and also usable for "non juniors" like me.

What seems to be new (at least for me):

- Pirate flag

- Treasure map

- Treasure chest in black

- Pirate torso

- A wall with an integrated window (so so)

- A tan round brick (with a spare part in it). Not sure how to reuse that one.

- A barrel in dark blueish grey

- Red bandanna

- A light green base plate

It is the old pistol and the old saber. And the old fish.

So far so good.

And then they told me that the other sets would come in April (not March).

The 2015 sets are on fleabay now.

That impatience tax on them is high... I think I will wait until they are available at retail!! lol

Well the flag and the map look a bit kidish and silly(I mean look at that skull) but I have to agree that the torso,new bandana,the black chest,the shark(you can never have too many sharks) are usefull.Can't wait to get it.

Yepp the map is simple ... but NEW!

And silly is fine with me.

The new bandana does not look good on the pirate head. I think I prefer the old one.

About the shark it's kinda annoying that Lego still hasn't updated his eyes,I mean the new alligator has printed eyes and it fit's him perfectly.I hope Lego wont forget the shark.

I disagree. The old crocodile looked much better and I appreciate the fact the new shark is similar to the original, but adds the ability to place it on a baseplate.

I think the shark is "ok".

But the old agent series had big sharks that could eat whole minifigs. That was cool.

Somehow, they seem to have disappeared...

Well i have to disagree,comparing the new aligator with the old one it takes only a second to decide which is better and that's the new one.But this of course is my opinion.

Got the junior set today, good set. My kids loved it and I have to say I like it also. I think I will get another of it, good parts.

Agree with Captain B. the old bandana is better.

Not to start a fight, but this is LEGO, not PLAYMOBIL or DUPLO. They're supposed to be "blocky".

Sure, they look more "real-to-life," but that's the problem. This is LEGO, not real life. They may be closer to real life shapes, but the curves clash with normal LEGO shapes, which are, by nature, "blocky".

Thanks for the comparision. I think I like the old. It is not as threatening. New one has that Godzilla I'm going to cook you look.

I have a bunch of the old ones. I guess the new one can be their boss alligator.

Seeing them side-by-side, I do see now why you like the new one. It looks much better here than in the pictures I had previously seen. Maybe it's just the nostalgia talking.
