By this time I should have had all the pirate sets... But it seems it may have been lost :( My only hope is that my local postal servicepoint finds the parcel on Sunday when they go through it all. It says in their database that the parcel has been delivered to the receiver, which would be me. I haven't got it, so there must be something wrong in the system. I don't have much hope though.

Surely, your post office will have to replace what they lost!

I'm not sure how it works :( There's a lot of money at stake though. And I don't think I'll be able to afford to buy those sets anytime soon again... And then it would be like paying 200% of the original price for the sets D:

I'm fairly sure that unless they can prove that they delivered the package to you (which they can't), they'll have to reimburse you for your loss. Stand your ground.

Good news! They found it :D There had been a mistake in the system. So I'm picking it up tomorrow. :)

I'd like to thank the people mentioning Bricks & Pieces for opening my eyes. Instead of wasting a lot of money on a ship I don't much like, I instead decided to simply buy the unique torsos and heads from The Brick Bounty - along with an assortment of other interesting pieces from other sets (mostly torsos, heads and hairpieces). I got a lot of nice minifig parts from themes I would otherwise not collect (like, for instance, some really nice Superheroes hair that I can use for my historical setups) and often the prices weren't much higher than getting the pieces on Bricklink (sometimes significantly lower!), and with much lower postage costs. I even managed to score some pieces from licensed figures that I wouldn't have thought possible to buy this way.

I couldn't get the new pirate cook's legs, though. But it's the torso and face that really make him anyway, so I'll live. And I got me some old-style red and white bandanas instead of the new ones, so it's actually a step up. I was also too cheap to pay the premium price for the new pirate captain's hat, so he'll have to settle for one of the old ones. pir_laugh2.gif

Very excited for this order. pirate_satisfied.gif

That's exactly what i'd like to know.

Bricks and Pieces is not available in every country. Change region to Germany/English for example and search again. You will find it next to broken bricks. Than change region to your own, if it will disappear it is not available in your country.

So I was researching the other pirate sets as we are now considering getting one of each. On the Lego website, the product description for the Soldiers Fort indicates that the set comes with two cutlasses, a golden cutlass, a musket, and 2 pistols. Upon looking at the photo, I could not spot the golden cutlass. Thinking that it was perhaps stashed unseen in the treasure chest, I consulted the instructions from the website, and lo and behold, the parts list does not indicate a gold colored cutlass. The cutlass is the sword, right? I wonder if Lego considered making one and then changed their mind but forgot to update the product description. They have occasionally made golden swords in other themes, but not in the current pirates theme to my knowledge. Has anyone else noticed this?

I hadn't noticed this but you're right, it says two cutlasses and a golden one but it has three non-golden cutlasses. I imagine if you pointed this out to Lego they'd send a free golden cutlass for false advertising. pirate_laugh2.gif

Actually, it says exactly the same thing in the Brick Bounty description! I guess the Governor and Admiral were supposed to come with a golden cutlass.

Anybody hear anything about them doing a minifigure blister pack for Pirates? They seem to do them for the rest of their in-house brands but I haven't seen any word of one yet. Might be a great way to build up some bluecoats.

To everybody who wants to buy the chess set. The set is sold out in germany and it looks a bit like it will never come again. You can t order it. It is only a possibility but maybe TLG just made amount X and will never produce it again. If it is still available in your country buy it, before someone else do it. I am very glad to own onepirate_classic.gif .

I just called TLG and the lady there told me they have just received new information from the shop division.

Turns out this set has been intentionally withdrawn from shops because of some error in building instructions. This will be fixed and the set will come back to stores more or less in September.

This is the reason it shows up as sold out. So no need to buy for inflated prices if you're willing to wait :)

^The error with the misaligned black/white squares is well known, and involves a simple 90 degree rotation to correct it. If that's the error in the building instructions mentioned, withdrawing the set for almost half a year seems a little drastic.

Good catch on the Brick Bounty! I just sent a message to the online site about it to perhaps give them a friendly nudge to tweak the product description. In the message I confessed that no one is probably buying the set in hopes of getting one. Now, I kind of want a golden cutlass! It would not make a good weapon in reality because gold is such a soft metal, but it would look good in a treasure chest pirate_satisfied.gif

Very interesting. If indeed the mistake is the alignment of the black and white squares, that certainly is a harmless error and incredibly easy to fix. It is surprising that you can still order it on the US site despite the long wait.

Don't count on them ever fixing their product descriptions. I've been hounding them for months to fix the product description for the green baseplate. It still has the wrong picture and claims to come with the original green color.

Nice!.. So I guess this release should be kept MISB as a factory error release for big bucks in the future? (j/k) lol :)

And now you can buy two and still say you are not buying the same set twice.. Oooh the possibilities ;)

Jeg er helt sikker. It looked like the same catalogue as the one I have at home, but on the last page it has the pirate sets and it says "Nytt i mars". So they must have updated the catalogues. I didn't take one so I don't have pictoral evidence. But that's how it is. Hopefully they'll turn up in a few days.

Not sure if you've noticed, but it looks like they're a BR exclusive here in Sweden. Both the ship and shipwreck defence cost MORE than buying direct from S@H, whereas treasure island and the soldier's outpost come in at 200 kr cheaper.I've not been to a physical store to check it out yet, but prices are listed on their website.

Thanks for the tip! I checked their Danish website and lo and behold: the sets were listed there as well, as exclusives. I guess that solves the mystery, though I can't understand why LEGO couldn't tell me that when I asked.

Oh well, I guess this means that I might as well just take advantage of double VIP points and order it directly from their site - as my hopes of ever getting them at a good price in BR is slim to none...

If they plan on a second wave, when will that be announced? Typically that is.

I'm just hoping for a blue coats ship and a larger pirate fort. I have the two pirate sets in this wave, and would like something a little more impressive in size.

Aren't there three pirate sets in this wave? Although I guess the two smaller sets are like one set split in two...
