2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion

Two questions:

1) Why do certain parts (monkeys; tricorns) seem to go out of vogue with Lego? Do the molds break? Do they revile certain pieces? I've always found parts attrition so confusing.

2) Has there been any word or whisper about a possible allied ship with this pirates revamp? I've always been a red coats person, myself, and 6271 the Imperial Flagship was -- despite my having owned many larger vessels -- probably the best 'pirate' themed item I ever bought (though 6277 get an honorable mention. The Imperial Trading Post was too cool).

I would really like the monkeys to return - there must be a reason for this - if the mould broke they could make another one I guess - or even an updated version of the monkey - or several different kinds of monkeys...

Well, Compared to other Themes, i feel lego made it more worse when it comes to Pirate Themes. Other themes, you can see there is a place of improvement year after year.

Monkey, coins, the design,...etc....

They must make something like the 10210 the imperial flagship or from the 80s and 90s one

Another look at the exclusive Pirate set in the August Store Calendar. He appears to have this head which hasn't been in any Pirate sets yet. Pretty sure those are the new style chrome coins.

I'll admit I'm pretty excited for that pirate exclusive. A new print is very welcome, and you can never have too many sharks. I might try to get 2 of these.

As for the repetetive heads in this pirates line, I just bought my own to replace doubles and give more variety.

I love the new face print with that black beard. It's only been in one set. Love that torso print, especially the skull with bones detail.

Ha, the skull detail is pretty cool but it blows away my plans to give this guy a tricorn and make him a dock worker rather than a pirate, like the guys from the Imperial Trading Post.

I have ordered mine this morning. You can´t order it directly you must have a VIP-Account and when you buy somethin which cost 55 € or more you get this set for free. I ordered another chess set and a hand of bricks and now I am waiting for my new pirate vip set :)

I just found someone how allready sell the promotion VIP set on Ebay.

That torso is exceedingly nice - I love the little treasure map holder on the back. The rest of the set is nothing special however, so I'm not sure it will be worth tracking down on the secondary market as there's nothing on S@H at the moment that I feel inclined to pay full price for just to qualify for this freebie.

Buying things for the sake of getting this freebie probably aint worth it. I needed some parts so I place a pab order I would have placed anyway - sooner or later - so this set came in handy - best thing in the set is the shark IMHO

In the US at least they seem to be offering bonus VIP points on the Brick Bounty that same month...looks like I'm going to get that one earlier than expected. :D

I do not see the problem of worthing. Buy the Chess-set, buy 1 Brick and you get the Promoset. Sell the Chessset (Ebayprieces higher than on Lego.com). At the End you have this: -54,99 Chess - 0,10 A Brick + 59,99 Sell Chess at Ebay - 6,40 Ebaybill - 1 Paypalbill = -2,50 €. As you see the priece for the promoset is 2,50 € and you get 54 VIP Points. I am not sure but 54 VIP Points are 2,70 €. Therefore you can say. You get the Promoset and 0,20 € for your pocket.

That's just my assumption,since there are long gaps between each pirate theme so yea I figure we wont get another wave for quite some time.But I really hope I'm wrong and we get another wave next year.
