Pulp Detective Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 your saying that if the sets come with the winter wave we'll get them by November? sounds a little early to me, would that be the official release? Usually in countries like USA news sets tend to be released earlier so that my based assumption and as I can remember the same happened with the 2009 Pirates. Quote
Blakstone Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I found these on the work computer today, all prices are in NZ dollars and I think probably a couple of the smaller 'Soldier's Arsenal' type sets are missing, as well as any exclusive sets. Release date April next year, although our computers are not always reliable with release dates. 17.99 NZD - Shipwreck Defense 39.99 NZD - Soldiers' Outpost 39.99 NZD - Treasure Island 59.99 NZD - Soldiers' Fort 179.99 NZD - The Brick Bounty Don't have time to convert to approximate EUR/USD/GBP prices right now. My initial speculation is that the Soldiers' Outpost and Fort will be connectible in some way. I know that the US gets sets early sometime, but it is useful to remember that the retailers catalog apparently says April. I bought we will get them in December. March is a possibility though. Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I have a feeling that photos will be revealed this month....:-) Quote

Pulp Detective Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Roughly but still interesting description, makes me excited about the upcoming sets But cmon Blockbeard??It kinda sounds silly,I prefer Brickbeard instead. Quote
Zeya Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Could be Captain Brickbeard again and just a bad translation. But Lego is wise to the fact that minifigs move product, so my money is on a new captain. Probably all-new minifigs. The part about "warships of the King" is interesting. I wonder if there will be a set for that. The leaked set lists didn't seem to indicate a "coat" ship... Quote

Blockbeard does sound silly, it would be interesting to get a pirate captain without beard in his name. Quote
Robert8 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 the warships of the King lurk This sounds pretty interesting.... Captain Block Beard This doesn't Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Unless we see otherwise, I'm guessing that "warship" is more of a generic term, resulting from the translation. So, probably no Armada. Captain Blockbeard. Well, it's nice to see that they're continuing on the naming tradition, if nothing else. Although I think my captain's name would have worked better overall. "All shiver in fear, of the mighty Bleybeard!" Edited September 5, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
egg roller Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 One may postulate since LEGO Pirates core demographic is 7-12 year old males, the LEGO Group intends upon recycling similar set ideas every 5 years, because after 5 years that "generation" of children is no longer in the core demographic so the same ideas can be re-used on the next "generation". I very much hope I'm wrong about that! For better or worse, I think you may be right, or close. At times, we as AFOLs, can lose site of the fact that TLG is a business first and foremost. What you describe is a pretty sound business strategy. Until they believe that the kids in that demo's taste has changed, then we may get pretty similar sets. Hopefully that doesn't stop them from producing worthwhile interesting sets! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 5, 2014 Governor Posted September 5, 2014 Until they believe that the kids in that demo's taste has changed, then we may get pretty similar sets. Hopefully that doesn't stop them from producing worthwhile interesting sets! As The_Cook noted in an earlier post, the LEGO Group is already doing that with Castle and City, although they did do something more original with the Forest Fire Fighters sub-theme which was actually proposed by a LEGO Ambassador. So I'm hoping our Design your LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme Ambassador Project provides the LEGO Group with a similar inspiration/motivation for Pirates in the future. Quote
David Thomsen Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 "All shiver in fear, of the mighty Bleybeard!" I can't believe I actually just laughed out loud at a Lego pun... I was a bit confused by 'smooth', so I put it into Google Translate and looked for alternative interpretations of the word 'haaien'. Apparently that bit could be 'raft', which makes sense. Also 'Block Beard' could be 'Sketchpad Beard'... yeah I don't think that's likely either. If they have an exclusive 'Kings Warship' I hope they release it at the same time as the rest of the sets, and not much later, like they did with the Imperial Flagship. No one has said anything about the 'dangerous creatures' yet. I wonder if they just mean the usual sharks and crocodiles, or if this theme will have brick-built monsters. Quote

I wonder if they just mean the usual sharks and crocodiles, or if this theme will have brick-built monsters. I was wondering what they'd be also. We did get a Kraken in 2009, in addition to the crocodiles...If you can count a dark red octopus as a Kraken. Edited September 5, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote
Pulp Detective Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Well when I hear "dangerous creatures" I imagine new molds like the shark we got on the 2009 set(I mean the ship). Quote
Blakstone Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 There might be a new sea creature mold but it does not appear to be the focus of any set. It is not reflected in any of the set names. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Yea unforunately Btw I got an email from a Toy shop here in my country in response when I asked about the new Pirate sets and they said that there will be 5 sets so I guess that makes the list official. They also told me that the sets will be realesed on March at least in my country. Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 From the above description, it makes me think that there is potential for multiple waves. Of course that could be dependent on how well this initial wave sells. Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) I wish they re release the 6286 as a big pirate ship in their 2nd wave since we gonna see normal size ship innthe coming sets LEGO: Please make this Legendary ship.. Edited September 6, 2014 by VintageLegoEra Quote

BigHobbit Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 It would be really cool (albeit unlikely) if Lego would release pics on September 19th--Talk Like a Pirate Day. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Yea I was thinking the same, that would be really cool but as you said yourself I doubt it. Quote
