Heroica RPG - Quest #95: Missing Wares

[Flare]

Benji dons a set of armor, and motions to Regulus to do similarly. He is not quite sure what Mizuki will want to do, since the suits won't exactly fit her feminine form, but Benji quickly finds something in his satchel to let her borrow. He quietly offers for her to borrow his Trickster's Mask of the Gender Swap.

[Tachyon]

"Thanks......." Mizuki took off her Death Mask and swapped it with the Trickster's Mask of the Gender Swap. Donning a set of armor, she signaled for the rest of the party to go down the stairs.

[Flare]

Benji follows He-Mizuki.

QM Note: I guess that's one way of putting it

The party, with two part beasts, and the third female, somehow manage to disquise themselves, although they could only hope their act would get them very far. Going down the steps, they see three more guards, one facing the opposite direction, appearing to leave the room. The guard nearest them, and apparently the same as the one talking to them prior to heading down the stairs, looks confused, but soon speaks.

"What are you doing down here? Isn't your post still up there?"

[Flare]

Benji looks at He-Mizuki, expecting "him" to speak.

QM note: If none of zakura, flare, or TBW (Which I extremely doubt ) post by midnight, I am liable to just move the quest on as if no one responds to the guard.

[Tachyon]

"Oh, uhh didn't you get the memo this morning ? You didn't see the time to change shifts this morning ? Apparently the higher ups want us to swap more often, so that we're actually going to be aware and more proficient at our job." Mizuki said, while thinking, "This is the worst excuse ever..........Totally not going to work."

[Bricksandparts]

The first guard looks at Mizuki in disbelief, but the blue-shirted guard responds.

"I think I heard something about that, but I didn't realize that had been taken into effect yet. Did Delvin change the schedules?"

"Maybe, I didn't realize that though. You go up there, I'm gonna go check the shifts." The original guard responds, apparently motioning the party to follow him. Without much choice, unless they would blow their cover, the party follows the guard. They go behind the staircase whence they came to find another parallel staircase heading one more floor down. The door in the current room is closed, so if the party was to eliminate the guard, now would be a good time, however, doing so may have consequences, yet also benefits.

[Flare]

Benji indicates that they should follow him to the leader.

[Tachyon]

Mizuki nods, and signals to the party to patiently follow the guard, until he reaches his destination.

[Bricksandparts]

The party follows the guard through the door, leading them into a hall with two doors, one to their left, and one to their right. Someone else is in the hall, however not dressed like a guard. Soon another, similarly dressed man walks into the hall from the right door.

The red-shirted man speaks up as the group advances.

"What are you doing here? You know working here must be very cautious and you aren't supposed to be here. What is it you need?"

"We need to discuss our shifts with Delvin." The guard replies.

"Shifts? What are you talking about?"

The guard shrugs, and motions to the party to respond. As the party is about to explain, a guard rushes into the hall from behind them, shouting.

"Alert! There are intruders, be on the lookout! There are at least 4 dead already!"

The guard the party was following draws his sword and runs back into the stairs.

"You see? If you hadn't been fighting like the..." The guard says, rushing down the stairs to the next floor.

What does the party do?

[Flare]

"Now I think it is even more important that we see Delvin." Benji says to the man with a sense of urgency.

"Don't just wait around!" the red-shirted man says, expecting the party to know which way to go. Would they head through the left or right door?

[Flare]

Benji walks into the right door, hoping that the others will follow (and hoping its the right one).

[Tachyon]

<b> Mizuki follows Benji, dragging Romulus with them.</b>

[Bricksandparts]

"Where are you going?" The man asks suspiciously. "I thought you needed to see Delvin?"

[Flare]

"Oh, sorry. I haven't been over here in a while." Benji says in a convincing manner, and then leads the party through the correct door.

[Bricksandparts]

The party heads into the left door this time, finding themselves in some sort of office.

A burly man stands across the table, engaged in a short conversation with a guard.

"Just make sure the antedotes and the formula get out safely, we can't risk this operation going to waste." Says the man behind the desk, presumably Delvin.

"If we are being attacked, whoever's here probably knows-" The guard replies.

"Excuse us." Delvin says, looking at the party. "What is it you need? Aren't you supposed to be out there? Wait, just help this imbecile deliver the supplies alright?"

How will the party respond?

[Flare]

Benji looks at He-Mizuki. Should they help the guy with carrying stuff, and then hijack the things, or should they stay and bring down Delvin, the head of the organization?

[Bricksandparts]

QM Note: I need input from someone at this point...

[Flare]

OoC: Its sort of wrong to move this forward at such a critical point, without the decision of the party leader. If there is no response within 12h I'll make a final decision. This is taking too long...

[Tachyon]

Mizuki hesitates with the choice she's given. The party could have stopped Delvin or they could stop the organization's plans for now. Struggling to make a choice, Mizuki nodded and said "Come on guys, let's go help him move the supplies."

[Bricksandparts]

"Good, I hope you make a good first impression, I guess Quinton figured he needed more protection. I guess he turned out to be right." Delvin replies, ending the conversation. The guard leads the party back into the hall and through the door they had been heading to earlier.

"Delvin has commanded that all research and pharmaceuticals be removed from the pharmacy immediately!" The guard shouts as they pass through the room and through a door on the opposite side. They appeared to now be in a large warehouse filled with crates, phials, and research. Soon, many clinicians file past the party and pulling specific boxes off of the shelves.

"We need to get these to the carriages, and we don't have time to spare. Let's go." The guard says to the party. What will the party do?

QM Note: I'll assume the party helps move the crates.

The party helps the guard pick up and move a number of boxes through the warehouse and down a flight of stairs to a large wooden gate where 3 carriages were waiting. Some other guards are stationed here, as well as a finely dressed man. As the party loads the crates onto the carriage, they hear him giving orders to many of the guards.

"You three, to that carriage; you three to that one; and you three get onto the last one." He says to some guards as the party walks towards the group. The party, still unsure of who the man was, waited, confused as to what they should do. A man, Delvin, as the party soon sees, files pass the group of guards towards the man.

"It seems that we have the supplies and research." Delvin says.

"Good, I would hate to not turn a profit from all this. The thieves, assassins, not to mention all the guards has put quite the strain on my budget."

"Quinton, Lets just get it out of here and make our profit before whoever's here traces us tot he cities. Then there's nothing to worry about."

With the motive finally apparent, and both Delvin and Quinton in range of battle, the party should get ready for a final fight.

[Tachyon]

Mizuki tossed both Romulus and Benji a nostrum, before downing one herself.

"When your'e ready gentlemen."
