selder Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Over here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=115794 I just called the lego support line in Belgium, and a -very- friendly lady called the Lego Store in K Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Looks really cool even though I'm not a Technics fan. But being a (F1) Ferrari fan, I cannot wait for the F1 truck to come out in stores *sing* Quote

Wolf04 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Yes I'm 100% sure. Tomorrow they have practice sessions, Saturday 1st round of qualifications, Sunday 2nd round of qualifications and the race. I hope for another great season for Ferrari. They absolutely rule but they couldn't have done it without the world's greatest (not exaggeration - broken every single record) driver, Michael Schumacher!!! sam89 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Here's another pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/crowkill...o/legoenzo6.bmp This set looks great :-D Quote
Wolf04 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 While this model is really, really good, I still find flaws that could easily be fixed. First, the back black grille is way to big compared to the car. Secondly, the back lights are too far apart (I mean individual, not the group of two, between the two round lights on each side). Thirdly, the car still looks a little bit too flat, too long and the nose could be with half a stud longer. Lastly, I think LEGO could have done something to distinguish the headlights a little bit more. Other than that, it is a great model car. On first impressions, I give it an 8.5/10. Quote
Darkkazmo Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I'm a big fan of Technic (well, the old Technic), and this baby is a must for me... But I still think they could have used more of the studded Technic elements with some tiles here and there. I wonder what is the American MSRP on this set? Quote
selder Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 Well, you can see my progress here : http://gallery.damn.be/enzo Quote
sam89 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Thanks for the pics. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished model :) Quote
selder Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 If you want, you can use the pics for the frontpage ... (the photo's of the finished model, I don't think these pics are good enough :) ) (oh yeh, update, sac 1, 2 and 3 are finished .... 6 more to go ! :) Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Way to go selder. It would be really great if you could take pictures of some nice details that they wouldn't show on the box ;) Quote
selder Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 Here's a pic of the way they build the rear "suspention" (no real suspention though)... http://gallery.damn.be/albums/enzo/DSC01661.jpg (1600x1200) And here are the tires in relation to the tires of the 8448 and 8466 ... http://gallery.damn.be/albums/enzo/DSC01667.jpg Quote
Darkkazmo Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 BTW, does it have a gearbox mechanism (like a working gearbox similar to the Off Roader)? Quote
selder Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 I haven't build that far ... but I don't think it has a gearbox ... Just wait till I'm a little further in building it, then you can see for yourself :) Quote
selder Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 V12!!! http://gallery.damn.be/albums/enzo/DSC01672.sized.jpg Quote
selder Posted March 6, 2005 Author Posted March 6, 2005 Well, i'm done :) It was lot's of fun to build, and went very well (not that there is ever a model that's difficult to build :) ) I like the set very much, that's also why I drove 2 hours to K Quote
Darkkazmo Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 - No suspension- No gearbox - No working steering wheel Now that's a bit disappointing to tell you the truth, especially for such a big set. :/ Quote
Jipay Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Well no new set can compete with the old technic cars we had about 10 years ago. Those where the apogee for lego technic precision Quote
Darkkazmo Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Well, the Off Roader was the closest one to perfection, it had a working gearbox, suspension, working steering mechanism and even hydraulic doors. The only thing that it lacked is the studded Technic elements. But I do agree that the old Technic sets were the absolute beauties... Now, the new Technic XXL Crane might be the second best among the new Technic releases. Oh, and that F1 Silver Champion was a good engineering marvel. Quote

Actually, I have the 4x4 Offroader and the chassis is full of studded beams. It is absolutely beautiful and the few styling parts make it even better. It's its smaller counterpart, the Extreme Offroader that lacks studded beams, I can count only 4! Quote
