Posted April 21, 200717 yr Just came across this very nice castle on Brickshelf. The actual name appears to be Purple Hills, but I'll call it the Castle of the Purple Wizards. This is very well done, and I have not seen this much purple used in a castle before. Take a look: Entire gallery: Purple Castle
April 21, 200717 yr wow, that color palette works surprisingly well for the castle theme... i have to say this is great !!! - BrickMiner
April 21, 200717 yr I love it! Not only it is huge, but it is extremely well done and uses a surprisingly good colour palette. The only thing that I'm not sure about is how the part with the big tower is placed diagonally. I don't know, it just doesn't look good to me. Shakar
April 21, 200717 yr I LOVE this. Not only for the colors, or the scale and scope, or even the high level of detail and creative building techniques! I love it for the technique used for roof tiling *wub*
April 21, 200717 yr Yep, this one is a real architectonical masterpiece, especially with that north west tower. It
April 21, 200717 yr Eurobricks Emperor This is a very nice castle and a great find. But if this were mine, I would replace the purple by black or red.
April 22, 200717 yr Author I'm not a big fan of purple, but I think that it really sets this castle apart from others. The purple is very unique and captures the eye. With black or red, it would look a lot like other large castles. Playmobil just came out with a new Barbarian Castle sub-theme (at least in the last year). The theme also uses purple:

Of course, this is just a personal preference of me. And I can not image a castle with purple roofs :-D
April 22, 200717 yr Now that's a great creation. It really looks like a super-rare exclusive set, it's just that good. *y*

April 23, 200717 yr Author I think that the only set I have with purple pieces is the Harry Potter Bus.
April 23, 200717 yr I know I've seen this before, but it still looks great. I love that unusual color. Steve
April 23, 200717 yr I've seen this a few times before, it's quite impressive. I actually really like the use of purple in the creation. I think it fits well with the wizards. There are also some really cool designs and shapes throughout.
April 24, 200717 yr Beautiful, The purple really makes this stand out among other castle MOCs. Nicely detailed too. :-)
April 24, 200717 yr I never saw this colour scheme used before but I must say it is impressive. And yes, the scarecrow is funny :-D
April 24, 200717 yr I've just noticed the pigs. Ha ha, cute. The purple stands out, but isn't glaring. It seems almost magical, which obviously compliments the wizards. And I like purple. And it might be really obvious, but where's the scarecrow? I can't see it.
April 24, 200717 yr And it might be really obvious, but where's the scarecrow? I can't see it. Here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=985096

April 24, 200717 yr Ah, thanks. Not sure how I missed that. Pretty funny, but I guess I knew what was coming seeing as how other people have commented and I've just sat here thinking "What scarecrow? Where?"
May 6, 200717 yr I remember seeing this on Brickshelf like two years ago when I randomly searched prple. It is quite amazing, but that minifig is way too overused in the MOC.
