Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 24, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 24, 2007 I've actually never seen anything I've made on a figure before. Thanks a lot! Serious? That's always the first thing I do when I make a new design. As you might notices, my inktjet printer just cannot match the Lego red. I have been playing with this some time ago, but it is just not possible. Quote

Mosana Posted April 24, 2007 Author Posted April 24, 2007 More updates: Cuirassier: Carabinier: Coming next: French Dragoons and Artillery, then British Cavalry and Artillery After that, would you rather see Russians or Prussians? Anybody have any thoughts? Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 24, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 24, 2007 After that, would you rather see Russians or Prussians? Anybody have any thoughts? Both are still missing in our torso library. We only have a Russian officer of jaegers/chasseurs Its really great that you do this Mr. Mosana. Soon the library will contain all the missing uniforms and nations. We might even get some of the other members interested in the Napoleonic wars. Quote

I really do like making these; it's never a chore or dull. I think I'll do Russians, for I wargame them, and already have a fair idea about what they'd look like. Also, the post-Jena Prussian uniform is very similar to the Russian one, which helps. Quote
Norrington Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 For the resized torsos, what pixel sizes did you use? Thanks. Quote
SkaForHire Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 man great work everyone.... I wish i had a decent printer to print some of these.... I really am tempted to go buy some minifigs.... BTW i am interested in Napoleonic Wars... just more interested in the War of 1812 between USA and GB :P I could never field armies of anything large enough to be the continent wars that is for sure. I would like to see some marines, alternate (other than lego) officers and perhaps RN or USN seamen.... that would be interesting.... Any French or Spanish Navy would be nice too. (I haven't checked the torso index in a couple weeks, so they may be up there.....) I am interested in seeing more Navy stuff... but The army stuff looks really cool, and I wish i had a dang printer that would be good for this sort of thing!!!! Quote

I'm not interested in that war, and so have no books or uniform plates about it, but I'll see what I can dig up. In the meantime: Dragoon officer: Dragoon: Bugler: Coming next: French Artillerymen, Carabinier/Cuirassier Bugler Quote
Mosana Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Carabinier bugler: Cuirassier bugler: French artilleryman: French artillery driver: Coming next: French Guard Artillermen, some British Cavalry Also, am I allowed to flagrantly double-post like this? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 25, 2007 Governor Posted April 25, 2007 All these new torso designs is going to keep Bonaparte flat out keeping the Torso Library uptodate X-D Which program are you using Mosana? Quote
Mosana Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Good old MS Paint. UPDATE: French Guard artillery: French Guard chasseur: And with that, France is finished. Coming next: Britian. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 25, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 25, 2007 All these new torso designs is going to keep Bonaparte flat out keeping the Torso Library uptodate X-D Adding these new torso's to the library is a job I don't mind doing. With all the new torso designers that joined our ranks lately, we'll soon have a unique (and complete) collection in our library. I'll do updates every few weeks of the torso library from now on to make things a bit more efficient. Quote
Mosana Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Here's all the British torsos: Artilleryman: Rocket Artilleryman: Dragoon: Officer of KGL: KGL Trooper: Hussar: The Rocket Troop had interesting detail on the backs of their coats, which I have replicated here. Coming next: Russia Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 25, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 25, 2007 You even added a Rocket Artilleryman! I remember those from the Sharpe-series. Nice how you also made the back of that torso. Quote
Mosana Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Change of plan. Seeing as Woody's doing some Russians, I thought I'd try something else. So here are some troops for Waterloo: Nassau infantryman: Brunswick Avant-garde officer: Brunswick Avant-garde trooper: Coming next: Dutch, Belgians, Prince of Orange Quote

Or do you rely on books (osprey men-at-arms or something similar) Concerning my stickers I will be at least 4 times slower then you ... Andreas Quote

Osprey books are best, but failing that I just use the internet or some of my model soldiers. Quote
Mosana Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 For the resized torsos, what pixel sizes did you use? Thanks. Sorry about this. I mist have missed this post. Anyway, I use MS Word, of all things. Quote
Norrington Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I was thinking of using innfranveiw to resize mt own decals, but I was really asking WHAT pixel size you resized, or did you have no idea? Lke the resized decals? What's their pixel size! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 26, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 26, 2007 For the resized torsos, what pixel sizes did you use? Thanks. What exactly do you mean with "resized torso's" ? When you post a torso for the library, I suggest you use: dimensions: 360pixels - 300 pixels resolution: 600dpi - 600dpi Or do you want to know what the size must be to put a torso on an actual minifig? Quote
Mosana Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 I have no idea about pixel sizes. I just make them small so they look right, as I don't print any of these out. Quote
Mosana Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 I did say I'd do the Dutch and Belgians next, but, according to my sources, their uniforms were very similiar to French ones, so much so that they were fired on mistakenly by British troops several times at Waterloo. Therefore, existing French designs can be used, and I have only one different torso here, the Prince of Orange or "Silly Billy" as Sharpe rather ungraciously calls him. Update: 1813-1815 Prussians - Trooper, Officer Landwehr: Luetzow Freikorps Infantry: Jaeger: Uhlan (uniform same for all ranks): Coming next: Jena-Auerstedt Prussians Quote
Mosana Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 The Prussian uniform for Jena-Auerstedt is a very simple one, with little variation between units and officers. Musketeer: Fusilier: Grenadier: Jaeger: Cavalry: Coming next: Russians for Austerlitz Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted April 28, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted April 28, 2007 That Prince of Orange uniform is outstanding! That's one I'll be printing. I didn't remember that uniform from "Sharpe's Waterloo", so yesterday I again watch that episode. I must say that this is not the best episode from the Sharpe series. Not enough troops to be convincing. And why did they decide to put so much attention on the Prince of Orange? The episodes in Spain are much better. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Mosana, do you have anything along this line? This was a recent Mexican Fort that I made. I might try some custom decals, thanks to a suggestion by Bonaparte. Quote
