January 30, 201411 yr The bucket is exactly like the real Volvo bucket. What more could u as for. Also I hope douki doesn't make a replica. It takes the fun out of waiting for the real model every year :( My nickname is dokludi. Sorry for this situation. If it's a problem for you, I would like to ask you, that don't read my topic in the future. I build it already. Edited January 30, 201411 yr by dokludi
January 30, 201411 yr After 24 hrs of hmmm??!! ... and seeing the new pictures of today I think actually that TLC did a very good job! The model does really look like its original and has nice features as opening side doors for V6 engine access (clearly seen in combining two of the pictures above). As well TLC did paid attention to details by adding slopes as stairs (and one could always do this with 1x6 by the 5x7 gray frames, there is space for 1/2pins). It has 4WD btw. Even the steer within the cabin does function (can be seen in the video, and in the pictures about the 'how'). If we then swap one of the IR controllers to the 'train controller' we have proportional steering and driving!! And I think that will work quite well as it does in my MOCs ! Adding just the bang-bang IR controllers is probably a price thing. And we get a nice mix of PF stuff (servo, XL, L, M).... Plus I really like the bucket!! So, overall: very good job! So I'm afraid that I will buy it.. to join the articulated hauler! And load the Volvo on my lowloader Edited January 30, 201411 yr by designer-han

January 30, 201411 yr For being what it is - a volvo L350, it looks good. But im disapointed about the choose of model since we already have so many wheel loaders... i was expecting something more advanced, something like this

January 31, 201411 yr Looks like a forwarder with a clambunk. I've never seen this combination, but it's pretty cool! Gives me ideas for my forwarder project... For being what it is - a volvo L350, it looks good. The basic functions could be done with 4 motors and a gearbox. Edited January 31, 201411 yr by dhc6twinotter
January 31, 201411 yr Here is the green engine... Only John Deere makes green engines. Though, in the construction business, various competitors bought engines from each other. I'm not sure if Volvo made their own engines, but next time I have access to a wheel loader, I'll check ... After all, we might be getting a Volvo WL with a Deere power plant ...
January 31, 201411 yr This is a nice looking model but as others have said, it's too similar to 8265 to be worth buying if you have that set. If the price is going to be $200 then I don't see anything to justify that. 8265 was only $80, is almost as big and has all the same functionality without the motors (and is probably more mechanically complex as a result). I like the new bucket though. I just hope that they manage to get some uniformity with respect to the shade of yellow of the pieces. It's massively disappointing that TLG can produce good looking and mechanically complex sets but can't even manage to ensure that the pieces are all the same colour. I gave up on expecting much with yellow a long time ago. They have long since figured out that their customer base doesn't care about brick quality, and have little incentive to spend any money on improving these issues.
January 31, 201411 yr The L350F has a green engine: http://bagry.cz/var/ezwebin_site/storage/images/clanky/aktuality/novinka_l350f_je_nejvetsim_kolovym_nakladacem_znacky_volvo/novy_motor_volvo_d16e_lae3/193018-1-cze-CZ/novy_motor_volvo_d16e_lae3.jpg

January 31, 201411 yr Looking more carefully at the bucket, it is NOT a single piece. It does open. You'll see that the part with the teeth rotates relative to the rest of the bucket. These are called MULTI-purpose buckets, in contrast with the old style, which are called GENERAL-purpose ... NEAT!!! Edit: From the 'limited' pictures I've seen, I thought it was this type of bucket http://www.acs-coupl.../4_in_1_buckets ... now, after seeing other picturs, it seems it was more 'wishful' thinking from my side. January 31, 201411 yr Indeed it could! but only 1 motor with a compressor would been enough together with a very low gear ratio at the bogies by using worm gears (technic would save alot of money) the only expensive parts would been the nr of pneumatic cylinders... like 12 or so, ad 8-9 switches depending how many functions u want. the vehicle i posted is a Timberjack 933! 28 ton's of muscles, and imo its a scandal that technic never has created anything like it Not only john deere makes green engines! many of old volvos also had green engines... some of the old farmer tractors, as well as in their old LM loader series Edited January 31, 201411 yr by GoldVillage

January 31, 201411 yr Seems u're right as I have not seen that photo. But, from other photos, it appeared that this was a multi-purpose bucket .... No harm done, just another minor 'disappointment' as from the outside, it does look like I was referring to ...
January 31, 201411 yr Here's a nice detailed video of a real l350f,you will notice that bucket seems to be for heavy duty rock loading. I think lego done very well and after all Volvo would want an acurite model too. Seems a new video from the fair. I like a lot :) Edited January 31, 201411 yr by davidmull

January 31, 201411 yr Why Lego hasn't licensed this cute baby? ;-) This would be a real flagship... can load the Volvo in its bucket ;-)
