February 4, 201411 yr You are right, I guess is that the actuators are very short and have to win distance with the arms, if you build smaller the loader, you may have correct arms and distance to the wheels. Unimog wheels as the 42030 with better proportions. February 4, 201411 yr Author Has anyone gave thought, that Volvo has paid to TLG, to make front loader, and not the other way around ..... think .... why would TLG pay for licence, for something they already made once .... not exact replica ... but none the less .... what would TLG gain, if they make licenced front loader .... with Unimog it makes sense, it's one of a kind, .... with front loader it isn't ....

And many procurtement managers will buy this to their children and probably end with "how cool it is" "why our construction company doesn't use Volvos?" February 4, 201411 yr I don't think TLC is bringing out this set for 12 year old boys. I realy think TLC is aming at AFOLS to buy this set, I think TLC is doing so for the last couple of years, look at the sets and the prices, there aren't many parents that will buy these expencive sets for their children. February 4, 201411 yr My bet would be that nobody paid anybody for this. I would figure it's a no-fee collaboration between Lego and Volvo. However I have a poor recent track record of betting on these forums Volvo have been doing a lot in social media - viral videos, games, community stuff. This would be just another variation on their marketing program. For Lego it's a chance to put out an authentic model that will get Technic some news coverage. I imagine Maersk is done on the same basis. Obviously just my 2p, I have no more access to the facts than any of the rest of us who are guessing. Lego could just put this info in public on Technic blog of course...?

I also imagined that VOLVO could have for instance paid for the development of the specific and licensed parts. - Development of the new bucket (design, prototyping, mold, production) - Dedicated production run for the green engine parts

February 5, 201411 yr It is as wide as the Unimog and the wheels are the same, so I hope it will be the same size. I think it will be much bigger than the 8265, maybe someone who has build a own version already and also ownes a 8265, he can make a photo of the two sets together so we have Some conperison.

I have been working as an assembler on the line for the real L350F and know it inside out - so this set is an absolute need to have in the collection. Seems to be a nice replica, of course there are some issues, but I want to build it and test it first before I compare it with the real loader. Maybe we can build the LEGO set on the production line :-P.
