skppo Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 There is an obvious space behind the seats for a battery box. The roof has som pins that aren't even connected properly. Sadly, it's most likely used to motorize the bed and not drive/steering. No new parts truly spotted yet in any of the new sets? Quote
Conchas Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 You're right.... That is all that it is... Thought about that too, and it could be. But it looks like a very bad design, for an official set. Part is poorly connected! And are we now stressing and smashing parts to limit suspension travel!? Quote
dr_spock Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Nice parts donor, shit model. For what it is it also uses way too many parts. I agree, all those pretty red panels. Now to wait for a sale discount. The look of the truck is an acquired taste. Looks like someone with much money to spend on aftermarket parts for his truck to make it stick out. Quote
nicjasno Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) The sets of the recent past seem to be very poorly designed in general. If i was to design a pickup, i'd use the unimog wheels and make the truck more look like a ford F350 or chevy silverado. It's also have a 4 link live axle rear suspension and awd. But that's me. Yes, but that also sounds more like a large expensive Flagship where as this is just a medium sized set. Quote
nicjasno Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yes, but that also sounds more like a large expensive Flagship where as this is just a medium sized set. Not really... The size difference would be negligeble and the complexity increase would be minimal. Quote
Gee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yep, I'm not digging the balloon tyres on it either. Surely the mog tyres would have been better. Quote
rener Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Inside the cab there is a changeover catch in the center, but also some kind of yellow lever next to the right seat. Could it have some kind of transmission? Quote

Could it have some kind of transmission? That yellow lever most likely is connected to that changeover catch and switches the 2 functions. Quote
Lakop Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I like it and am looking forward to it. The only negative for me is the red, and maybe the price. I would have prefered it in blue and I look forward to seeing what mocs and modifications come from it. More please! H Quote
rener Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 That yellow lever most likely is connected to that changeover catch and switches the 2 functions. I thought that too, but then why is there an axle towball on the changeover catch? That doesn't make much sense to me. Quote

Probaby just for a visual appeal plus it would make it easier to switch it if you wanted to reach in and change it directly at the catch... Edited January 29, 2014 by Paul Boratko Quote
unimog123 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I think that it was not well designed or even useful to play with. I'm not sure, but it just seemed as though the dumping bed didn't have a tipping panel to let the cargo slide out when you raise it. I don't think I'll be buying this set anytime soon. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I guess that I am in the minority here, I think the model looks alright. The only problem I see is because of those new hubs and the fact that the tires are not flat, it is just going to be wobbly as Hell...You can already see the wheels leaning different ways in the pictures... dhc6twinotter Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I believe it's a V6 - I think I see the first stud of the 3rd cylinder in one image. If you pause the video at the 31 second mark, you can get a decent view under the hood.. It looks like it has 6 cylinder blocks... You guys might be right. I feel better now. Quote
Junpei Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I'm 99% sure it's the snowmobile suspension arms in the rear. See here: But the question is: why? This is an incredibly lame set. TLH Quote

TLH I thought they were as well because of that little hole in the end, but you can clearly see in this picture that the little hole is created from a tan pin going through a pinhole... Quote
shadowhearth Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Lol Wrong thread. Edited January 29, 2014 by shadowhearth Quote
750ACE Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 That bear sticker is even upset. Red panels are nice to see though. Quote
N-4K0 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I don't get all the negativity around this set. Personally I think it looks cool, and it has a good amount of red panels. Quote
Bison Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 This is definitely a set destined to the 'Spare Parts' Bin... Ya that's what I thought too! Quote
Dooftastic Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I think it looks cool. Door stickers are a nice touch of personality. Quote
kevman Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Easy pass...maybe a super discount buy....2014 is not very exciting from a Technic standpoint. Quote
Rockbrick Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I think they are releasing Fugly sets on purpose..... i think back and all the beautiful sets I still have built and not changed them much - if I had this Fugly set I would have already changed the front by now and added larger wheels etc.... = played with it more...
