Posted April 23, 200717 yr this is kind of a fun thought i had while checking out this thread about the color purple... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=9142 your favorite color could be one that you use a lot of,... or it could be one that you would like to incorporate more of in your MOCs or LEGO set-ups... or it could be more of an abstract question, and just refer to which color suites your liking, i.e. makes you feel happy or moves you in some other way. for me the answer is a little more aesthetic,... i like the color BL refers to as "dark orange" it's rich on full and has a good amount of saturation to it. though its use doesn't come up as much as i would like. though, it's going to make an appearance in my train station MOC for sure. - BrickMiner
April 23, 200717 yr Hmmm... I have a few favorite colors: Green: I like green LEGO because of the pieces that come in green including trees, vines, plants and baseplates. They allow you to make nature/outdoor settings and add plant-related details to your MOCs. Lite Tan: This is the color of some of the baseplates that come with Vladek's Dark Fortress and Scorpion Prison cave. I like this color because I find it easy on the eyes and its also nature/outoor related. Great for outdoor MOCs/sets. Fleshie: I know its very unLEGO and untraditional, but I like the flesh colored minifigs. Black: Black goes great with anything in LEGO. You can build almost anything out of black LEGO and make it look realistic (trees, cars, medieval armor, weapons, guns, spaceships, buildings, castles..etc etc etc)
April 23, 200717 yr I would say tan/light tan. I don't think Lego uses enough of this color in its buildings. It not only looks great for Egyptian Desert and Wild West, but in buildings with other colors. Just about any bright standard color looks good with it as the colors stand out or "pop" with tan. That's not a real Lego baseplate, it it BM? I don't recall seeing a baseplate that color. Also, it looks like it doesn't have any studs to build on.

Great for outdoor MOCs/sets.good call guys... light tan is a great color, i think it works best in town buildings with color accents as Brickster has mentioned. i remember the wayne mannor MOC posted here on EB a while ago... it used light tan and light gray or light bluish gray, and looked first class 8-
April 23, 200717 yr My favorite LEGO color (for color sake) is 'lime green', but I haven't anything out of it. If I go by what I actually use on most all of my MOCs then I would have to say white and lt. grey.
April 23, 200717 yr Hey, this is a very interesting topic! *y* My favourite colours? I had to think some time when seeing the question. What I like best are "nature" colours: (light) tan, dark green and lime green, because they make MOC
April 23, 200717 yr I would have to say Old light grey. I use it the most, and it works well for a lot of creations. I also really like Dark Blue, though.
April 23, 200717 yr My favorite LEGO color? I don't have one. I don't have favourite color... When I was a child, the boys and girls had their favorite color due to what they like: pink for girls because of Barbie, red for boys because of the leader of the Power ranger like serie... And me, with my LEGO, I've got a lot of colors... I think that a color is great only because of the other around it, so I can't choose just one favorite color. The world will be so boring if it is monochromic. A color needs another one who needs another one etc. I need a rainbow brick to feel well!
April 23, 200717 yr Author dark blue is another great color, i agree... -------------------------------------------------- BTW, i think the LEGO standard red is actually a pretty poor choice. its far too shallow of a color... i wish that LEGO would have chosen a slightly richer hue for its standard red. - BM
April 24, 200717 yr i like tan, light-normal-dark green, the new green clors are fine to made outdor moc's *y*
April 24, 200717 yr Pretty much any colour that is easy to acquire in abundance. There is nothing worse than a great colour being available only on a few odd and otherwise useless elements. I really like dark red, however the number of elements that come in that colour are far too limiting (this is starting to improve though).
April 24, 200717 yr The more obscure colours are definately the best, especially purple and dark blue. Dark green isn't bad either. Sadly, they're often the colours with the least amount of pieces to their name.
April 24, 200717 yr I really like: Dark Green, Dark Red, Dark Blue and Dark Tan. Sand Blue is very nice as well, as well as Maersk Blue, which I unfortunately have none of. My favourite of these is probably dark tan, and I really wish I had more of it.
April 24, 200717 yr Nice topic! Hmm, although tough choice, esp. when I don't seem to have that many colors when I look across my town. Mostly red and white. But I like the dark red in a couple of SW sets I have. I was also impressed with the HP purple, but now a bit tired of it. Translucent red and blue are very nice! if that's an allowed choice :) But being a townie I guess white is my final answer :) although that might change after Villa and CC!! Peter PS we need topics here for fav brick and least fav color and 'ugly brick contest' me thinks!
April 24, 200717 yr I don't know..... Probably Light Grey or Lght bley. It can be used for lots of purposes. I also Like teh shiny gold, as used in the golden helmet in scorpion palace, or the coins in the pirate theme.
April 24, 200717 yr Author But I like the dark red in a couple of SW sets I have.dark red is a strange color... it looks good next to other colors or in a combination of colors, but had you ever looked at the dark red all by itself ??? its really strange. similar LEGO's standard red its very shallow, surprisingly.PS we need topics here for fav brick and least fav color and 'ugly brick contest' me thinks! :-D we were once talking about the ugliest big piece ever (in reference to <insert that tiresome argument> pieces)... i proposed we have a discussion of the oddest shaped pieces, i thought that would be a much more fun discussion, and less heated ;-) these were my canadits: i have always thought this piece looked funny cockpit 7x4x3.and as a kid, i always felt the shape of this piece was strange windscreen 4x4x4 1/3. but these entries are odd shaped pieces (kind of a better discussion) and quite a different story from unuseful, or unLEGOlike. for that category i would have to go with the dino with light up eyes. - BrickMiner
April 24, 200717 yr For a main color on MOCs: oldgrey, especially the dark version. As a secondary color: yellow, lime and orange.
January 28, 201114 yr I like purple, but dark bluish gray is my favourite because of army look. Also light bluish gray is nice for metal decoration.Blue, tan, green are also good.
February 14, 201114 yr Black. I tend to buy way more black than any other color, as it goes well with just about any theme and any other color. All the models I build use a substantial amount of black. It's also one of the few basic colors to have (essentially) no quality problems. If I buy black parts from Bricklink, I can be sure that they're the good stuff and that I will always have a use for them sooner or later. I also like trans-neon green, probably my favorite transparent color, as well as lime green as an accent color. They both go together nicely with darker colors.
