JGW3000 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Didn't see anybody post this: http://www.buzzfeed....s-has-been-rec# The master builder in the time-lapse video isn't using the Kragle, but it looks like he is using the Elmer Quote
KCMatze Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Sorry if I get a little off-topic, but can anyone tell me where the slimer is from in that pic: http://collider.com/wp-content/uploads/lego-ghostbusters-minifigs-cuusoo-1.jpg ?? I searched google for about half an hour now but things like 'green creature' 'sand green yellow eyes' 'LEGO animal' etc don't get me far right now Any ideas? Quote

kevin8 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Oh, you're welcome... Anyway... does anybody have problems with the instruction booklet? Mine just ripped away while reading during building. So I asked a not faulty one to TLG, they sent me a new one, but it was faulty again... I wrote down an e-mail lamenting this problem, again. They are sending me a new one again... Quote
Fritzy Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 From what I've read, this is not a rare issue. I recall there was a post about it on Brickset, but even elsewhere I've seen people say they're having problems with the booklet. Quote

But they did not send me a new one (well...they said they would...but nothing until now ) The booklet is horribly glued. Quote
KCMatze Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I wrote them about a month ago...I received my part, which was badly printed, but no booklet. Maybe I should try it again. Quote
Borex Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 My booklet was badly glued too. But i didnt ask lego for a new one. I think because the thickness of the book and everything glued it stays highly vulnerable. They had to use a different manner for making the book i guess. Anyway i'm really happy with the set and i do hope lego is releasing some ghosts (like the ghost girl in the upcoming cmf) in the near future to haunt/hunt Quote
Prince Manic Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) I have a cool solution if your light green round 1x1 round bricks isn't having a frim grip on the lamp holder piece - your set should have an extra reddish brown shaft for the divariable universal and get it almost in the middle and then add in the 1x1 light green round bricks and that should solve the holding problem on the set. Colossus Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I assembled my Ecto-1 over the weekend, and I gotta say that it was a very fun build! It called for some very interesting build techniques. However, the minifigs n brick built proton packs are the icing on the cake. I have to look, but I think some customizer like Brickarms or somebody makes custom ghost traps and PKE meters. BTW, last night i just saw the trailer for the 30th anniversary screening for GB coming up at the end of August. I. Can't. Wait! Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 BrickForge does the GB packs. I highly recommend them. The also make PKE meters and Ecto Goggles. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Yesterday Lego's official Twitter page linked to this build for Slimer: It's not as good as a proper molded figure, but it'll do. Has anyone come across a better solution for Slimer? Quote
K-Nut Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I know lots of people have used Rotta from the Old Star Wars Clone Wars sets from 2008. I don't know a better solution off of the top of my head. Quote
Captain America fan 1 Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I finally got to buying the set yesterday. Great set, the build is awesome, the minifigures are superb, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who hasn't bought it already Quote

Has anyone come across a better solution for Slimer? Someone on eBay just listed a custom Slimer. I haven't had a good look at it yet though. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I'm still waiting for the replacement booklet to be sent out, but LEGO said they don't have any at the moment, I'm hoping that they are currently being reprinted, so holding out for a replacement. Quote

LEGO will always have a Digital version of it, waiting for new booklet may be lame but I'm sure LEGO has a digital version to use at http://service.lego.com and then click on building instructions and see if there's a scanned version there on their database. KCMatze Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 They never even answered my second request, after they said in the first one, they don't have it at the moment and will come back to me. That was about the day the set came out.....so... I would not hang my hopes too high on this. Quote
jonwil Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Not sure if this is the right thread for it but someone on another forum posted a rumor about a Ghostbusters HQ set: "Also I got told by the manager of our Toyworld that there is a Ghostbusters HQ coming out next year, he saw the pictures of it. So I told him to grab me one whenever he gets it in." Since this is comming from a manager of an independent toy shop (Toyworld stores are independent franchises all trading under the Toyworld banner) who's shop likely sells the Ecto-1 (the chain certainly sells it even if that specific store does not) and who claims to have seen pictures, there may be a kernel of truth to this. Quote
WetWired Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I highly doubt it to be honest, toy stores (let alone small-fry Australian cahins) wouldn't be receiving photos of sets that haven't even passed lego ideas review stage yet. He likely just saw the pics of the one on lego ideas and mistook it for a real set. Quote
jonwil Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Unless its not the Ideas proposal but simply a continuation of the theme in the way Minecraft was continued. The Ecto-1 has clearly sold VERY well from what I have seen (much more so than the DeLorien) so they may have simply decided even before GB HQ got to 10k that they were going to continue the line. Quote
WetWired Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I'd be happy to be proven wrong but I can't see them doing any further continuation without a tie-in to a movie or TV show outside of the LEGO ideas platform. Like the Scooby-Doo rumour, there's a new TV show coming out around the same time so it makes sense. Quote
