Hi everyone! This is my newest big technic creation, a remote controlled ship to shore crane!

The crane is 66 cm high and 107 cm long, it has 8 whels, 4 motors and it contains 34 13L liftarms and 42 15L liftarms. It has four functions. It can go near the water, catch and release the container, rise and lower it and take it between the shore and the ship.

I made a video about the crane. The temperature was +1°C, the batteries were weak, so the mechanism of the compressor couldn’t work well, the crane couldn’t catch the container. We had to found out something instead of the original screenplay, and this is the result, a real HD disaster movie in Holywood style! :) (The video is faster, than the real speed.)

If you don’t belive, that the crane can catch the container, or you are simply curious about the real speed of the functions, look at this video, too:

If you are interested in the boring technical detailes about the crane and its functions, follow this link: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/380083

Thanks for watching! :)

Fantastic presentation - charming movie. IMHO the real genius lies in the remote controlled ship and truck.

Although the conditions weren't great, you put a lot of effort an love in it. It made my day.

The crane looks great, but i would have used liftarms to support the bridge instead of string.

I agree with Tigertass, the ships needs to be larger - but it's ok since the crane is featured.

Thanks everyone! :classic:

@Tigertass: The ship is small, because two big project is too expensive. Big crane with small ship is better, then small crane with big ship! I want to make an LDD file, I don't know when, but I will tell here, if it's ready!

@JGW3000: Well, the fans have already bought every magazine, sorry...

@TinkerBricks: I think that liftarms would be too thick there. :classic:

Interesting MOC. I liked the video very much. I'm sure it takes a lot of work to pull that whole presentation off, and I must say it is worth it! Great job.

Love your crane! I wonder how many technic fans would like to see Lego produce one.

I would. I think that it could be popular, as long as there were container trucks in the same scale. Technic doesn't seem as bothered about their models being played with together like system, rather they're mostly stand alone sets.

Nice model.

Really nice presentation.

I do agree with Tinkerbricks that the strings are too thin, but I also agree with you that liftarms would be too thick. Maybe the rigid tubes used in the flex system can be used here?

@Jeroen: Thanks! :classic: The diameter of these tubes are good, but these strings are not decoration, they hold the weight of the crane. Is is possible to make the tubes longer and fix them onto the crane without loosing the safety, which we got from the strings?

Beautyfull really beautyfull.

the other day a i was delivering fuel to a boat with my truck and at the docks i had to drive underneath maybe 10 of this cranes and i was thinking that if i ever find the time for a massive moc this would be so wonderfull to recreate.

now i have a example to look at.

Thanks for that.
