Andy G Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) Hi folks, Here are a few videos showing a new nose gear design for a four engine lego technic aircraft I'm working on. Edited February 1, 2014 by Andy G Quote
hysot Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Nicely done again. I like to see you're using a jack hehehe Quote
Andy G Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Yeah I like the jacks. They use a lot of parts but it looks good when raising the whole aircraft with pneumatics. Very realistic. Quote
Dayton Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Great job! Is you plane finished? If not what other functions will you add? Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Nice! Awesome youtube username btw. I really wish I could have seen some of Bob Hoover's flying. The engine out aerobatic routine he did sounded fantastic. Quote
Andy G Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Great job! Is you plane finished? If not what other functions will you add? Ah it currently has variable pitch propellers with each engine powered by two medium motors, ailerons and a large fowler flap that tucks away nicely. Also has a cabin door with folding stairs. The landing gear is by far the most complicated system-it has a pneumatically sequenced locking brace that replicates a real aircraft. All gears have suspension. I havent built the tail yet but I will get there! Need to finish the controls to the wings, hence my other post showing control system ideas. Quote
The_Viking Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Excellent mechanism! Your landing gear features exactly the real dynamics :3 Compliments by an aerospace engineer! Quote
whale2 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What about main gear? :) I'd like to see some photos. Quote
Andy G Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 I posted a few videos a while back showing the main gear. Quote
diiscool Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Your landing gear systems are fantastic! Loved the YouTube videos. Quote
