However, the guard is quick to react, swivelling on it's heel and sending a flurry of vicious swings at him, sending Eric back. The raider manages to jab at the guard, but it's futile compared to what he could have done. Althior tries yet again to cast a light spell on the Count, but von Zarovitch is quick to react. Out of nowhere a swarm of bats flock to him, blocking any attempt the necromancer makes to attack the vampire. The Count laughs at Althior mockingly behind his black scrim. Avalanche downs a remedy, taking another swing at the Shadow, only to miss yet again. Throlar, looking pale, continues to fight, but it's clear something is wrong with him. Sweat rolls down his face and rims grow under his eyes. Violet, still cowering, manages to smack the occupied guard in the back of the head, dealing minor damage. Things seemed to be going south.... Kintobor Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Sorry guys, no update today. My throat feels like sandpaper's been ripping through it, and I've been in Toronto all day. You will be getting an update tomorrow though. Also, anyone know where K-Nut is? I really, really don't want to kick two players from a quest. It looks bad on me, and it looks bad on the player, and I don't see the point of continuing the quest if the majority of the starting players aren't here to finish it. Quote
Dragonfire Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Also, I'm going to be out of town from Wednesday to Monday and may not have Internet connection. If that is so, Khorne can be in charge until I return. He'll be back on Monday Quote

Violet vs. Von Zarovitch- Untargettable! von Zarovitch vs. Eric- (40/2-5=15 damage) Eric continues his frenzy, trying to protect Violet from the skeletal guard. He comes down with one hard strike, nearly cleaving the skeleton in twol. His flurry of blows continues as he successfully strikes out each of the shadowy humanoids, the room becoming brighter as he does so. His blade turns to von Zarovitch, who simply laughs, but through some miracle, Eric manages to pocket some gold for himself. Hopefully his gods wouldn't mind. Althior decimates the remaining guard, turning it into nothing but dust with a blast of light. The rest of party attempts to take on the Count, but he simply grimaces as his bats retreat, blocking the heroes from attacking. With his bats as his cover, he charges for Eric and strikes at him with his sword, slashing him across the chest, and sending him back. That's fine, but even an update would have been appreciated so I at least knew what was going on. I'm generally a pretty benevolent guy, and almost foolishly forgiving, but I was thoroughly peeved when you disappeared. I'll allow you to come back, but don't let it happen again, at least not this quest. If you fear you won't be able to post, at least let us know in advanced. Alright, lets get off this note and get back to roleplaying. Quote

He grinned as he spread his arms and crunched some of the remains of his victims under his boots. "I have already done more than you have, Dwarf! I have no need of your sympathy or pity. Keep that remedy to yourself!" The Nord's face then turned more stern as he sheathed his blade. He eyed the Vampire but remained silent. Eric would not attack him and so, he does nothing this round. The room lightens and the party can see much more detail in the room, as if the occupants had some curious ability to shroud the area in darkness. As the party runs through the loot dropped by their enemies, they don't notice von Zarovitch get back up, clearly in pain. His haunting eyes glaze over the party, and with his helmet off, the party can see that he must have been rather young before he was turned into his current state. Where he stood lay seven tiny stone tiles, each one with a number carved into it. Violet approaches the count with her shovel. "I ain't afraid of you no more, count. Now where's my heart!" "Wouldn't you like to know, you no good strumpet!" She violent and impulsively bashes him with her shovel, the vampire only laughing in delight. "Why do you assist these living thugs! Your kind have been the slaves and the servants to these clowns since our kind were first resurrected, hunted like dogs and used as fodder for war! And yet you stand with these heels! I can sense another undead in your midst! Why would you help those who would use you as an instrument to an end!" What will the party do? Edited March 13, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
K-Nut Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I should have gained triple XP from the battle and my health should be at 26 I think. Althior: Grand Tonic, Black Knight's Armor, Numbered Tokens Eric: Grand Potion, Murky Pearl, 10 gold Throlar: Crow Helmet, Murky Pearl, 10 gold Avalanche: Phoenix Essence, Murky Pearl 10 gold Althior strode towards the fallen Count. "Now then, what do we do with you?" He raises his scepter, "Why were you guarding this tomb, Count? Who sent you, and where can we find them?" Quote
Duvors Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 "Violet got out of her grave by herself, without any help from us living types, and Althor, I already know who this vampire is working for, I just don't know what he's working for." Quote
Khorne Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Both Eric and Avalanche should be back at full health, because of Natural Respite. Eric stared at the scene. Violet was hitting the Vampire with her shovel, but the Vampire only chuckled defiantly. The Nord smirked. Even in defeat, the creature still knows arrogance. These truly are the blessed warriors of the night. Inside, Eric wondered what battlefield Helvetia had chosen this specimen from to join the eternal legions. His mind did not wander long and snapped back to reality. "Don't kill the Vampire, necromancer. It would bring severe bad luck to us." Quote
Dragonfire Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Avalanche turns to Throlar, ignoring the vampire, "You already know who he's working for? Speak up then." Quote
Kintobor Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) Althior strode towards the fallen Count. "Now then, what do we do with you?" He raises his scepter, "Why were you guarding this tomb, Count? Who sent you, and where can we find them?" The count only grins as Althior interrogates him. "Only to stall your progress in here and give my employer the time necessary to finish they're work. This section of the tomb is farthest away from the inner sanctum. Why should I tell you who's behind this when your dwarf friend claims he's already met them. Should you trust him, though?" Eric stared at the scene. It would bring severe bad luck to us." "You impress me Nord. You impress me greatly. You're not like the snivelling fools who accompany you. Why would someone as proud and mighty as you travel with such idiocy?" Violet tightens her grip on her shove, ready to strike the count again. She looks to the party. "We either let this p-prick go, or we send him to his final resting place. What do we do with him, guys?" Edited March 14, 2014 by Kintobor Quote
