Zepher Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) "I'm assuming we'll all be seeing some of that gold, right, boy?" says Boomingham, before turning towards Mortimor. "Sorry, looks like we got off on the wrong foot. If you think it's safe to eat out in the open, I'm ready to get going. I'm famished, if I'm being honest, and I've always assumed that the locals know the best cuisine. What is Strivvi known for again? Wine? Sea food? Wine? Pork? Wine?" Sandy Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Ellaria smiles at the rockling. "Lead the way, Mortimer. We won't let you out of our sight before we get to the safehouse, rest assured." Quote
Pandora Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Nyx doesn't find anything. Of course. "I'm ready to get going too. After you, Mortimer." Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Skrall caught the flail and gave it a few experimental swings. It had been awhile since he had used a melee weapon, but the pommel fit his hand well enough and the weight seemed to suit him. "Hope where ever this tavern is, they're accomidatin' to folks of a larger sort. I could use with a mite to eat, let's be off." Edited March 28, 2014 by Waterbrick Down Quote
CMP Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 "Aye, let's get out of here. And Ellaria's got the gold, Boomin'ham, we'll probably divide it once we've all got some drinks." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 As the heroes move out of the warehouse, they notice there are more people standing outside, the guard they left alive quickly closes the door behind Mortimer and the party, and continues the conversation he was having with the other people, heavy armoured in the same armour, but with no visible weapons. "See, nothing is wrong with my collegues, they are A-OK. No need to force us out, right?" "Hrm Hmm. We had a deal, your end of that deal was you would remain quiet, and wouldn't cause any problems. People heard explosions, How do you explain that?" "We still have a deal. Something probably just fell over inside. Everything is fine, I promise!" The person looks up, towards the window. "Hmm. And you." The soldier looks at the heroes. "Anything to say?" The man in the leather armour that was guarding the door shoots the heroes a knowing look, and then winks. Quote
CMP Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 "Nope. We were just conductin' some business with the fellows inside. The old man here dropped a crate while we were movin' it - arms ain't what they used to be, ya' know?" Quote
Sandy Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 "Might I inquire who we have the honor of talking to? I am Elpis Blackhood, the spokesperson of this band of mercenaries. At your service - for a price." Ellaria tries her best to look tough, but mostly manages to look constipated. Quote
Zepher Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Boomingham looks sadly at his shoes. "I'm always knocking things over. Eyes and ears and brain aren't what they used to be. Though I've got the same question as the little lady - who exactly are we talking to?" Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 "Hmmm. You're bringing in mercenaries now. You tell your Daymaster I want to have a little chat with him soon. It's time we rethink this relationship. I'm Captain Gwyar, of the Strivvian Army. Clearly you've been shipped in recently. Hmm. " Quote
Zepher Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 "He actually said he wanted to rethink his relationship with you too," says Boomingham with a jovial smile. "We should all sit down some time and have a chat and hash things out. But not before we get something to eat." He glances at the rest of the heroes out of the corner of his eyes and licks his lips nervously. Quote
CMP Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 "Ah, I'm sure your problems with him will sort themselves out..." Quote
Sandy Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 "I am sure you have important business to attend, Captain Gwyar, as do we. We will be on our merry way now." Ellaria nods to the guards and tries to slip past them, ushering the others to follow. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 "Hmpf .Do not presume to lie to me, old man. If the Daymaster has told you that, you would not have no idea who I am. I see you or any of your friends doing anything I do not like, you're done. And next time you're going to lie about you're profession, don't make the frightened girl your leader. Move out." With that, the soldiers turn around and march away in the opposite direction. The heroes started to follow Mortimer, but are stopped again. "Wow, you're like a gang right? You kicked the Wolves's megablocks in there. What happened, was this about territory, is this your turf now? Hey, do you think I could join your gang? I have a sword, and I know how to swing it? I could be like an intern! Yeah, an apprentice to learn how to be as thuggish as you! I won't get in the way, I promise!" Quote
Zepher Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Boomingham glances at the others. "We are actually sort of like a gang," he admits. Barty shakes his head sadly, but Boomingham continues. "We've been to Strivvi before. Picked up a friend that time too. You're free to join us, as far as I'm concerned, though it's Elpis' decision. What's your name, chap? Oh, and be warned-" Boomingham smiles wickedly, "-if you plan on joining us and then scurrying over to the Daymaster or Nightmaster and telling them all about us, I will seek revenge on you. And the lightest anyone has every gotten off with me is losing an arm. So, you know, don't do that." Boomingham laughs. "I'm the noble Sir Blackhood. Who are you?" Quote
CMP Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 "Why the hell is it you seem to get a new lackey every time we're out here, Blackhood?" McCafferey clucked discontentedly. Quote
Sandy Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Ellaria looks at the enthusiastic thug, and then to her companions. "Well, I'll be... It looks like we have a new party member. You did great not ratting about us to the guards just now." She then smiles at the man and offers her hand. "I am Elpis Blackhood, the brains behind this troupe." Quote
CMP Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) "It's Elpis' call, but I guess if we've got an eye on you you won't run off." "Guess he's comin' with us, then. I'm sure we'd all be happy to introduce ourselves. Just as soon as we've got those drinks. Mortimer?" Edited March 30, 2014 by CallMePie Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) "No one else seems to have any problems with it, so thanks for the welcome. I won't let you down, oh man, I can't believe I'm rolling with actual gangsters. This is going to end up great for me, I just know it." After the necessary eye rolling, the party continues on their way. Soon enough, they reach the place Mortimer was talking about. The door is unassuming, and there's only a sign that clarifies that it is in fact a tavern, so naturally the party is filled with an appropiate amount of suspicion. When they go in however, they are met with a place where food and drink flow freely and often... The bar seemed stocked... And there was even a courtyard directly connected to the bar to enjoy the Strivvian setting sun. "Well then, here we are. The Green Hero. Or the Blue Hero, as it seems to be now. Errgh, I don't suppose you can spot me the gold for a meal and a drink, those thugs did take my pouch, I'm sorry to say." Edited March 30, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
CMP Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Atramor made straight for the bar, looking up at what might be a menu. If it's not, he gives the bartender a nod. "What've you got?" Quote
Sandy Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Ellaria gives Mortimer 10 gold from her pouch. "This should suffice. Is there somewhere private we can sit and discuss? There's too many prying ears here for my taste..." Quote

Scubacarrot Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) "Aah, thank you my lady. Well, you could buy a room, but that's fairly pricy, and pointless if you have a place to sleep, or we can sit outside, they seem to be too busy sparring there to be spying on us anyway." The Rockling goes up to the Bartender, and a moment later comes back with a big plate filled with shiny rocks and a pitcher filled with water. Edited March 30, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
Sandy Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Ellaria orders the menu of the day and an Ambrosia and leads the party outside to the furthest corner of the courtyard. "We will sit here, then. Do you happen to know why the bar changed it's name from Green to Blue, Mortimer?" Quote
