"Seems like we've got some free time on our hands. If you all are gonna do some reconnaissance, ya probably don't want a big hulkin' ogre givin' ya away. Side's, the barkeep gave me a reference for gettin' a little action, so if ya don't mind I'll meet ya all back at headquarters later tonight." The ogre collected his things and stood ready to head out.

Boomingham waits for the others to exit the bar, but eventually only Atramor and Ellaria walk out. He sizes them up.

"Boy," he says to Atramor, his eyes hard to read - harsh, but somehow also almost impressed, as if an idea has just struck him. "Would you like to come go see another bar with me?" Boomingham jerks his thumb over his shoulder, indicating the street heading to the left.

Atramor blinked, rubbing the side of his head.

"I suppose. I don't think we'll find a trace of Lorenzo anyway, bartender seemed sure he was hidin' his tracks."

Ellaria raised an eyebrow. "What are you up to now, father dear? Very well, let us go."

Before departing, she turned to shout at Purple. "Take good care of our rockling friend, you hear!"

Boomingham frowns deeply, glancing at Ellaria and then Atramor's chicken. "I'm sorry, dearest, boy-o. I'm not using my head. I will meet you at the safe house. These streets aren't safe for such a lovely lady late at night. Atramor, take her home, please. I'm sorry."

The heroes pour back in to the safehouse one at a time. Tunicum, Mortimer and Purple are in the room, as well as the familiar statue of Pseudos, staring down at everyone but Skrall.

"Heroes. Good that you could make it back. Let's go over what we know. We know that the Wolfgang have moved their main operation out in the desert, for which we need Passes to get in and out the city safely, which you are able to get tomorrow, at Macros' event at his house. This morning, you are going to go to the Silver Anvil to acquire upgrades, you'll need them. After that, I want you to help me at Mercutio's Street. I have reasons to think that there is a rich man's establishment that is keeping Zoë hostage there. If she can't get out, it will be serious business. I am taking these two gentlemen with me to scout the place out now, you heroes can come after you're doing at the Blacksmith."

Boomingham glances up at the statue thoughtfully, chewing on the inside of his cheek. He shakes his head. He then looks at his companions.

"Eventful night?" he asks with a sly smile. "We'll gladly meet you in the morning, Purple, though we'll be catching some shut eye first. Haven't slept since I got to this damn city, I think it's about time, I can hardly stand on my feet. Besides, these chaps look worse than me. Not that they don't usually, of course, but I think we could all use a little beauty sleep. Hel, isn't that what a safe house is for, anyway?"

"I want to see the next day just as badly as you, Purple." Boomingham claps the man on the back. "We'll get Zoe back. Just want to make sure I'm able to do so."

"Night? It's tomorrow already? Damn."

Atramor shook his head.

"I'm ready to head out whenever ya'll are ready, I guess."

"Good to see everyone made it back safely. I got involved with healing plague-ridden orphans, which was right up my alley. Alright, power nap time everyone! We will head to the smithy after that."

Ellaria orders everyone to rest to recover their health, before leading them out to the Silver Anvil.

"I'm ok thanks Ellaria, I had a nice time at the pub, so I'll just stand guard while the rest of you rest. I'm ready to move out when you all are and I'm looking forward to visiting the Blacksmiths."

Everyone except for Nyx sleeps, and regains full health and ether.

Come (late in the) morning, the sun already high in the sky, the heroes decide to head out. It is not a problem to find the Blacksmith's district, as over the hill, they see thick black plumes of smoke rising. When they climb the hill, the heroes soon start walking past all kinds of establishments having to do with metal, armour, weapons, tools and everything concerned with smithing, and craftmanship. Most services are named after the Gods, and a surprising number have the words 'Steel', 'Dark' or 'Darksteel' in front of them, like the Dark Hammer, a blacksmith's. The heroes walk past a large number of shops whose signs have names changed also, for some reason. Eventually, the heroes spot Sultan the dwarf.

What do the Heroes want to do?

Atramor has no bedroll and can't rest.

Atramor rubbed his eyes as the party came down to the blacksmith's, mentally exhausted from last night's events. He gave an tired but completely unsurprised sigh at the pair who seemed to be working for Sultan, waiting for the hobgoblin up ahead to finish his deal.

Boomingham glances briefly at the man hob-goblin, and then glances around at his party.

"Who made friends with this fellow yesterday? Elpis, was it you? Care to do some introductions for the rest of the Blackhood clan? Make sure he knows we're going to see Macros later, seems the two know each other well enough to spar - it can't hurt."

Posted

Ellaria approaches the dwarven smith. "Good morrow to you, Master Sultan! I have brought my troupe to see you, as I promised yesterday." Ellaria introduces everyone to Sultan. "We are on our way to visit your friend Macros in his palace, but we would like to see what wonders you offer before that."

Atramor is always most welcome to borrow one of Nyx's.

Nyx looks around at Atramor's sigh and spots what, or rather who, he's sighing about. She shakes her head slightly, as if she should have known. As Ellaria makes her introductions, Nyx grins and waves cheerily.

"Hello!"

"Aye, and we've got more blades than we care to count to sell to ya' as well if I remember right," added Atramor.

There were enough bedrolls between the heroes, so it's all good.

The dwarf looked up from the anvil, and urged the heroes to come closer.

"Morning, morning. You must be confused, little lady, Macros' 'party' is tomorrow, and it's not at the palace, but at his mansion. Anyway, whatever you're up to is none of my business. Blades to sell? Are these useless, blunt blades that one would find on every mook thinking they know how to fight?" Sultan sighs. "Fine, the blacksmith's guild forces me to offer a flat rate for any weapons to be sold. Let's take a look then. Need anything else, a Strivvian Blacksmith is nothing like whatever you are used to over the sea..."

The Silver Anvil

Services:

Upgrade weapon: adds 1 weapon power to a weapon, the cost is the new weapon power times 10.

Rune-Enchant: Adds a random enchantment (effect or change of stats) to a weapon without an effect, costs 150 gold.

Sell weapons: The Silver Anvil buys weapons for their Weapon power times 5.

Morph Weapon: Change your weapon's type to another type of your choice, costs 150 gold. (ranged weapons can't be turned into melee and vice versa, throwing weapons can't be morphed at all.)

Custom Dark Steel weapons: You buy a dark steel weapon with the blinded effect of a weapon type of your choice and a random WP between 10 and 15. 400 gold.

Pre-Made Dark Steel weapons: You buy a pre-made dark steel weapon with the blinded effect of a random weapon type and a random WP between 10 and 15. 250 gold.

"Morning, morning. You must be confused, little lady, Macros' 'party' is tomorrow, and it's not at the palace, but at his mansion."

Ellaria's face goes red, but she manages to laugh it off.

"Haha, thank you for the information, Master Sultan. It would have been awkward if we would have gone knocking the palace door and asking entry to a party which isn't even held there today! Anyway, I wish to conduct some business with you."

Ellaria sells the following weapons: Obsidian Spear x7, Knife x5, Cutlass x2, Spear x2, Handaxe. She then splits the gold gained to the five of them. "Now we should have enough gold to splurge a little."

OoC: Way down the road now, I know, but Atramor sent me a Sabre (WP:6, Longsword) for Tidings and I don't have it in my inventory. I looked back to see if I had sold it or something, but I don't seem to, so it should be in my inventory. Unless I did something with it on this quest. We've been on it for three months, my brain doesn't remember that far back with transactions, usually.

Boomingham's eyes go wide. He smacks his lips a few times.

"I tell you, Sultan, I don't know if I've ever been that attracted to blades before," he glances, ashamed, at his own blades, "but I think I am now," he whispers, so as not to offend his own blades. "I've got to see how much gold will be coming my way... but tell me, chap, how'd you get to be so good? Years of practice, no doubt? I know little of Strivvi but what one of my friends from here has told me, but I know dark steel is famous here. I don't know much about the trade beyond that, though."

Don't forget the 50 gold and the Ruby from the safe in the warehouse, Sandy, I don't think that's been divided yet. Also, Scuba, when you say weapons without an effect, I'm guessing you mean weapons that have absolutely nothing listed beyond WP, right?

"Damn," remarked Atramor, nodding towards the list of services. "Why the hell can't Anwyl do any of this stuff? Aye, I'd be curious to hear where you get this darksteel stuff too."

OoC: Oh, I didn't realize Atramor gave the loot to Ellaria before now. Sorry!

Ellaria gives each of her companions an extra 10 gold. Ellaria rummages through her bag and finds a spare ruby and a voucher for the smithy. "Oh, I forgot! I want to sell this ruby too. And this voucher for your shop, what is it good for?"
