Heroica RPG- Quest #96: Tying up Loose Ends

OoC: Sorry for not posting for a while, I've been waiting for the others to get some answers to their questions, so that I could limit down the options of what to do.

Ellaria scribbles more notes to her little book, trying to make sense of the situation. She turns to Purple.

"So, we could enter the building through the door, through the balcony or probably through the sewer system as well. But we also need to do it covertly so the ones keeping Zoe do not get alarmed and kill her. However, disguising ourselves to sneak around is out of the question. I do wonder how we can make any sort of plans without seeing what the building is like inside?"

She looks at Russus Tunicum. "Russus, do you think you can still pass as a Wolfgang member? Could you do any surveillance for us?"

She also turns to Mortimer. "You are a clever rockling, Doctor Mortimer. Any ideas?"

[Scubacarrot]

Skrall doesn't find anything at that side either.

"Please, ser, I've been doing this for a while. You see, for example , the cuts... from the last sword would match up the most. Notice how the cuts line up... Jagged edges, slightly circular cuts so a curved sword. We're looking for a swordsman carrying a blade similar to that one, that one right here. Thank you, for your help. The Lion's Share, right over there, see for yourself. I've not been in there, I'm a detective, no captain. Not my kind of place, no.

"The Sewers, the Drainage Grate, and the Front door would probably all give us access. But for the first two we still need a distraction. Disguises or acts might work, but once they know what we're up to, it will be useless. Keep in mind that they know me, they know Mortimer, they will realize we're coming. The plan is to get inside, preferably in different ways with the most efficiency for the best results, once inside, we'll take it one step at a time from there."

"Hmmm. I never actually made it in the actual Wolfgang, but I could still pose as a common merc hired by the Daymaster, sure. Problem is, those two chaps aren't with the Wolfgang or the Daymaster as far as I know. So that won't help much."

"It's a solid distraction you need right now. There are the guards, both of the city and guarding the door and a few civilians to worry about. Perhaps you could trick them somehow... Or do something that would lead them all away or at least looking in the wrong direction for a solid while..."

[CMP]

Atramor returned to where Ellaria, Nyx, Mortimer, Purple, and Russus stood.

"Yeah. Subtlety ain't workin'. I'm gonna go plant a bomb somewhere. Any objections?"

[Waterbrick Down]

Skrall joined the group, "No back exits or anything. Bet ya, the local fire marshal'd have a hay day with the safety of that buildin'. So what's the plan?"

[CMP]

"I was gonna go drop a bomb somewhere to get these guards out of here. Far enough away so the club guards and patrons won't get suspicious, but close enough so Glendar takes his men to go investigate."

[Waterbrick Down]

"Sounds like a reasonable plan. Though if it's a club for gentlemen, why don't we send the king in?"

[CMP]

"Boomingham and Nyx could probably walk right in. This is a damn good hat but it won't be able to hide the fact that I look like a drunken mercenary. You and Ellaria could probably get in through the alley. Maybe Nyx could whip up some kinda stairs for you if ya' can't get up the pipe. I could hit the sewer. Mortimer, Russus, and Purple could stick around in the alley if anyone tries to make a break for it with Zoe."

[Zepher]

Boomingham bows to the man slightly.

"I took the sword off an Orc that accosted me. I believe it is greenskin made. Hopefully that is useful. Best of luck."

Boomingham steps over to the others and catches his own name being mentioned. He puffs up his chest. "I'd gladly take a little look inside, brave it and all. And while I'd feel safest with Nyx by my side... well, she's hardly a gentlemen, is the only issue I'm seeing. And I don't know how believable it would be that she's attracted to me and my old age and big belly. I could go inside with Russus, perhaps? They won't recognize him, as they might with Purple, but he's still a gentlemen sort of." Boomingham shrugs. "I agree that the front door should be our first attempt. I can surely get in, and I don't see any reason I'd raise any eyebrows that may hurt Zoe. But it's your call, Purple. She's your woman, I don't want to put her in danger."

[Pandora]

"I'm still more than happy to set fire to something, naturally. There just doesn't seem to be anything flammable in the right sort of place to get rid of the guards. Maybe Atramor's idea of using a bomb would be better." Nyx tries not to look too disappointed in the lack of arson.

"Larry, I think I could walk in with you. Women do occasionally go to these places with men you know. Apparently, any way. I'm not sure it'd be all that odd, especially if I do the giggly thing and we both talk loudly about how much money you're going to spend on me. We can pretend it's just how you wanted it to be when you first walked into the Hall all those years ago. "

[Sandy]

Still thinking about the best course of action, Ellaria reads the notes posted on the walls to see if anything interesting jumps out.

The investigation of the murdered woman still continues behind her. If that's not enough to distract everyone, she doesn't know what would be...

[Zepher]

Boomingham stares at his feet, and then up at the group, a little red in the face.

"I'm more than willing to scout out the club with Nyx."

[Sandy]

Ellaria nods.

"Very well, daddy. You and Nyx go ahead inside, but don't get into trouble. Just return to us once you've figured out where Zoe is being kept, and we work it out from there."

[Scubacarrot]

Ellaria doesn't find anything interesting on the posters. A few advertisements, some more adult than others.

"Wait, wait, wait. After all this planning and preparation time, talk of bombs and distractions and whatnot your plan is to just let a few people walk in, say hello, order a few bevs? That doesn't seem like a very good plan at all! From what I've gathered, the Nightmaster got away, he knows who you people are. What if it's a trap?! Two people'll be stuck inside against who knows what."

[Zepher]

"I thought that the Nightmaster wasn't aligned with these people," Boomingham grumbles. "That's what I was told, at least."

"I don't see the harm with the plan, but what the Hel. Atramor, let's go with a bomb. Maybe fly it under the guards. That chap was quite rude to me, and is a corrupt official as well, which just makes my mouth bitter."

[Sandy]

Ellaria rolls her eyes, but keeps calm and thinks it over.

"Very well. We set a bomb across the square, then half of us will go through the sewage tunnel and the other half through the drainage grate - wherever that is. There's no point sticking around out here, if what we seek is inside. Would that sound alright to everyone?"

[Zepher]

"I believe it's a drainage pipe-" Boomingham points at the pipe on the side of the building, "and I think Skrall and myself would have a tough time getting up it. So, Nyx, Skrall and I in the sewers, and you and Atramor up the pipe? We may as well all go in the sewers, I think." Boomingham turns to their companions. "Unless there is something objections to this plan as well?"

[Pandora]

"and I was this close to another drink... Yeah, that's absolutely fine Ellaria. Not that I'm a huge fan of sewers, but climbing and skirts don't exactly mix either."

[CMP]

"Aye, I'll head up the pipe once I get back. Skrall, could ya' lend me a Smoke Bomb?"

[Waterbrick Down]

Skrall silently hands Atramor a Smoke Bomb.

[CMP]

The regulator stows the Smoke Bomb in his coat and seeks out the nearest abandoned building, McCafferey's eyes sliding back and forth curiously.

[Sandy]

Ellaria looks up the pipe. "I used to climb trees when I was a little girl, so we'll just have to see if I still got it in me. Once the bomb goes off, Russus and Atramor, you come up with me. Skrall, Boomingham and Nyx will go down to the sewers. Purple and Mortimer, stay put and whistle hard if there's extra trouble. You can do that, can't you?"

[Zepher]

OoC: Scuba, we've been outside this building for two weeks now, are you waiting on us for something, or can we maybe move along?

[Waterbrick Down]

"Sewers it is then."

[Scubacarrot]

There is no abandoned building. Where will Atramor plant a bomb?

"The plan:

Atramor plants a Bomb, Russus, Atramor and Ellaria will climb the pipe and attempt to enter through the roof-terrace

Boomingham, Nyx and Skrall will go through the Sewers.

No one will enter through the front door. Myself and Mortimer here will try to warn you if there's trouble. Very well..."

Will move things along as soon as the bomb is planted.

[CMP]

Atramor heads down a nearby street, ensuring it was close enough to where the guards could hear, and plants the Bomb XX halfway inside the nearest unoccupied alley, pulling his hat low over his brow as he leaned against a wall a short walk away, waiting for the guards to come investigate before heading back to the alley next to the club.
