Pandora Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Nyx waits for the guards to move away to Atramor's distraction before attempting to enter the sewers. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) Atramor plants the bomb in an alley a while further back. Atramor runs back to the party and waits a few moments. Atramor winks at the rest of the party, and a moment later a loud BOOOM is heard. The square fills with smoke, fire seem to spread from the alleyway, and sure enough, Gwyar starts shouting orders through the smoke: "Either magic or someone's stash of alcohol just went up. Everyone, find buckets and use the water from the fountains to start putting this out, we can't let the fire spread. Harolds, find a Water Mage somewhere, now. Grush, help me with this. You two guarding the door there, help me as well. Merchant you too." People start moving around and no one seems to care for the heroes at the moment. What do the heroes want to do and in what order? A small mistake and they may have to add Captain Gwyar and their lawmen to the Heroes' list of troubles. Edited May 20, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
CMP Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 "Mortimer, Purple, might be best if ya' helped them out with the fire." Atramor turned away from the burning alley (the explosion framed in the background, obviously), unfazed by the destruction the bomb had just unleashed, and headed into the alley next to the club, tossing the kobold ten coins. "Ya' never saw us, mate." He then led the way up the drainage pipe, after ensuring the guards were occupied with the fire, McCafferey fluttering up to the top alongside him. Quote
Zepher Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 "The Wolfgang are cowards, right? I don't think it would be shocking should we run away, considering what the Captain thinks of us." Boomingham glances over to make sure that no one is looking in his direction before he lifts the wood to the sewers (thankfully a job he can do, as opposed to if it were metal or stone) and slips through the rather large crack into the murky depths. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Skrall makes sure he's the last one down the hole and slides the grate back over the top of him as he enters. "It just had to be sewers." Quote
Sandy Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 As the bomb goes off, Mortimer and Purple run to carry water with everyone. Ellaria, Atramor and Russus slide into the shadows of the alley, and after Atramor bribes the kobold, they climb up the pipe in that order. At the same time, Boomingham opens the wooden grill leading into the sewers, helping Nyx down and jumping after her, followed by Skrall who goes in last and closes the grill. OoC: Hope this is clear enough for your needs, Scuba. I wasn't sure if you wanted an actual battle order -type of listing or not. Fingers crossed, everyone! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) Atramor quickly bribes the kobold, who does nothing but shrug and smirk at the coins and words thrown at him. Mortimer and Purple nod, Purple bedrudgingly, and report to Gwyar to help, who quickly sends them off to carry buckets of water. Ellaria quickly climbs up the pipe, faster than you would expect from someone wearing a dress. Atramor and finally Russus follow. They make it up without problems, and not counting the kobold, no body seems to have seen them do it. From now on, the party is split. Both parties will still post here. The party on the roof has succesfully made it up there. There seems to be only one way further, the door. Will Ellaria and Atramor go in? Meanwhile, back on the ground. Boomingham doesn't seem to be able to pull away the wooden beams, but instead uses a few well placed kicks to solve that problem. He hops down, into the sewers below, as does Nyx... Then Skrall tries... He is too big! Skrall does not fit through the hole, what will he do? Edited May 20, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
Sandy Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Ellaria sneaks to the door, listening for noises inside. If she hears nothing, she takes a peek through the small window on the door. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) Ellaria can hear muffled voices inside. She can not make out what they are saying or how many there are. The window in the door seems to be blocked by a wooden shutter on the inside for some reason. Perhaps against the sun. Edited May 20, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 "Well looks like I'm goin' through the front, then. I'll catch up with you inside." Skrall replaces the gate, makes sure the front door guards aren't around and walks in through the front door. Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 "Good luck, big fellow!" Boomingham whispers mightily as the Ore disappears. He then turns to Nyx. "You alright working with me for the time being? Or are we going to go back to the early days of being all huffy and not having a sense of humor?" Boomingham leads the way through the sewers, looking up at the ceiling to see if there's any grate or toilet or something to enter the building through. Quote
CMP Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Atramor sipped the wine on the table to see if it was worth anything or had any positive effects on it. He then tried to look through the keyhole to see the interior, or at least if it was locked or not. Quote

Nyx speaks quietly back to Boomingham as she follows. "If anyone will be fine, he will, don't worry. As for you, well it all depends on whether you're going to be dictatorial and bossy again, or whether we can actually work together as friends, like we have so many times before. For instance, you might want to let me do the heavy lifting from now on, you don't want to do yourself a mischief at your age. " Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) Ellaria and Atramor: Atramor looks through the keyhole, he can't see much other than a wall, but the door is unlocked. CMP Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Atramor shot a look at McCafferey, who merely blinked in response and took up a perch on the balcony's railing, remaining there. He then makes sure his daggers are all stowed and his coat is pulled shut, then pours himself a glass of wine, holding it somewhat casually while opening the door. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) The wine bottle is empty, but the door opens. Inside, they quickly press themselves against the wall. They appear to be in a hallway, with an open doorway directly ahead, and a closed door on the left from where they came in. The voices they heard earlier seem to come from the doorway, and they can seen a figure through it as well. The Heroes can hear some of what is said: "Oh man, why do I have to be scheduled as 'reserve' for the whole week?" "I'm telling you, it's all in the look. You look half dead, and he IS actually half dead. Get rid of that ridiculous armor and it would be better already." "Heh, if it's looks that decide the roster, why do you get girl and front shifts. Makes no sense. You're ugly as balls." What do the Heroes want to do? Edited May 21, 2014 by Scubacarrot Quote
CMP Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Atramor looked over at Ellaria and tilted his head towards the cat silently, kneeling down to check if the closed door was locked. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 (edited) Skrall walks nonchalantly to the bar checking the number of people in the room, the number with visible weapons, number of staircases and any other exits from the hall as he goes. Coming to the barkeep, "A shot of your top shelf if you please sir and the news of the day." Edited May 21, 2014 by Waterbrick Down Quote
Sandy Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Ellaria and Russus follow Atramor inside. Upon seeing the cat, Ellaria kneels down and animal talks to the cat in a hushed voice. "[What a nice soft fur you have there! We are looking for someone, can you be so kind as to maybe help us?]" Quote
Zepher Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 "I'm not that old," grumbles Boomingham with a light smile. Away from Ellaria, Atramora and Skrall, Nyx seems back to her normal chipper self. "And I'm a King, my dearest, it's in my blood to yell orders. But, I guess I can try to tone it down for you." He smiles warmly. "I'd like to casually and in a friendly manner suggest that you put on that helmet of your's that helped Skrall with the poisoned apple. That thing seemed nifty enough, and these chaps don't look too clean. Maybe sniff some smelling salts too, if you have any." Boomingham raises his Frozen Saber and squares off against Abe, stepping forward. "What are you doing down here anyway?" He looks around for Barty, who has been conspicuously missing since the night before, and then he swings his sword. Quote

It is to left, and is closed. The bartender sniffs when Skrall asks for a drink. "Hmpf. I am not quite certain your purse can afford a beverage from us. Are you here to meet someone, sir?" The bartender raises an eyebrow expectantly. Ellaria and Atramor "Hey lady, those compliments might work better if ya didn't follow them up with a request right away, eh? But sure, sure, I'll help, I mean, why else would I be here? So convenient, am I right? Got some food? A certain kittycat might be more interested in helping if ya got 'em some food." Quote
