Pandora Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 "It's alright, Blackhood, don't worry" Nyx pats at Boomingham's hand "You're far more diplomatic than I am. Well, I said I wanted something to eat or something to kill, and it looks like I get both. I agree with you, we will get roughed up quite a lot - it's almost as if they knew we were coming seeing as how they can ignore most of what we can throw at them. I think we should probably sort out Niz and Biz first, because their free hits will likely be most annoying. What do you think, old friend?" OoC: Scuba, can we get a bit more information please? Like a list of ingredients thrown and their effects, and how much damage does the "double water damage" do? Thanks. Quote
Sandy Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 "There's no getting around it, then", Ellaria says to herself, shaking her head. Ellaria then speaks to each of the look-alike girls separately, asking their name and whether they have ever heard of anyone called Zoe. OoC: I know my action is unorthodox as far as roleplaying goes, but so far there's been several days between each response, so can we please not prolong this anymore than necessary?Thank you! Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 The double water damage is just double his level. So 60 water damage. The ingredients take one random from each negative effect. So from the page in the statistics topic. There's a lot of different ones. If you want it to be over quickly, Maxis clearly gave you a fast option. The pie tastes very good. The girl sitting by the bookshelf shoots Skrall a weird look, but no one moves to interfere. If Skrall wanted, he could finish the whole cream pie by himself! Quote

"They do seem pretty prepared for us, same as the boney chap earlier who didn't seem to take up my poison and absolutely refused to bleed, though that may have been his lack of blood. Strange too that these chains Hoke sent me haven't been much help - you'd think the guards might have some armor, but I guess none of the guards here wear armor, since the head guard doesn't. Should make them easy picking when we find them." Boomingham looks at the cooks. "I wonder if all cooks are this combat ready, or only the Strivvian ones. You'd probably be the better bet out of the two of us to take a whack from Mon, seeing as you can resist more." Boomingham swings at Niz from the back row. Edited June 18, 2014 by Zepher Quote

Your players are complaining about the slow pace, and you refuse to do diddly-squat about it. Is it really so hard for you to just write every girl introducing herself, so we can make at least some progress? Is it really that much to ask for? Sorry for sounding harsh, but I really don't see why we should spend months in this one building with so much other stuff still to do in the quest. Ellaria turns to the Strivvian lord. "Maxis, can you tell me a little more about this 'anti-magic' spell of yours? Is it supposed to negate all magical activity in the room, or will it affect the whole building? What are the possible consequences for us? This mustn't be your first time casting the spell, after all..." Quote

Don't get your panties in a twist. Ill update, with every girl introducing themselves, later today. Me not getting stuff done is annoying for you, I am apologetic for that, and hope it wont happen again, but when things are moving, I see no reason for you to complain. If you need to be somewhere, you're free to go, I'm not keeping you or your character hostage. Just give me a shred of credit, okay? Quote

But it's a very ether intensive spell. I would need some more tonics than I have on me at the moment. About 25 points of extra ether from tonics should suffice. As for side effects... I will aim the spell to nullify any magic used in this room. It will affect you and your items as well, but the effects should wear off soon. I suspect the spell will disrupt whatever magick is going on here, so we can, hopefully, rescue your friend." Ellaria goes round the other girls that have not yet introduced themselves. Battle Order >Boomingham drinks his Mulled Wine >Nyx does nothing OoC: Sorry Pandy, but as you're petrified I thought I'd take the reigns (petrified heroes usually can't speak, but neither can KO'd heroes and I broke that general rule earlier). If you have a different plan/want to keep part of the conversation, just let me know!! This is the only way I can think to survive the battle - I'll be basically at no health/about to go down the following round, but I'll be able to raise you first, and then I'll go down and then you can maybe raise me before you go down again? I still don't think we can possibly win, but what the hell, might as well try. Unless you have a better idea? Or want to throw the battle? Edited June 18, 2014 by Zepher Quote
Pandora Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 OoC: It makes the most sense for you to go ahead and post Zeph, no worries. I was going to suggest that attacking might give you a chance to summon Barty, but you're right that you wouldn't survive the free hits without the Mulled Wine. We need Barty and Edgar (or the rest of the party!), really, but I'm willing to give this another shot. I have a smoke bomb, just say if you want me to use it (when I'm able to), unless you want to throw the battle? I don't mind either way. Quote
Zepher Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) Let's see what happens, I guess - the only way for me to un-petrify you, ironically, is to have you KO'd and then revive you. So this has to be our plan if we hope to flee. That damn 120 damage free hit over two turns is very difficult to plan around. Boomingham crouches behind Nyx's frozen body. Sandy Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 "Very well, as I said, I'd need 25 points of ether from tonics to be able to succesfully cast it. It's quite a resource intensive spell." "Oh, right! Here you go..." Ellaria hands Maxis two tonics and one grand tonic. "That should cover it." Quote
Zepher Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 "They'll be fine. Atramor and Ellaria can handle themselves. They'll find Zoe." Boomingham stumbles to his feet, and then helps Nyx up. "I'm sorry, dearest, it was my idea to go into the kitchen. I've always talked big. Maybe I should learn to keep my mouth shut. I'll get him one day. Mon Que, that damn guard, that disgusting pirate, Masson, Baba. I'll get them all... eventually. Unless you want to try walking back in there right now... might not be a good idea." "You sent us on a damn suicide mission, Purple. I was suspicious of you the last time we were in Strivvi, and I'm not this time, but that doesn't mean I'll forgive you." But then Boomingham softens. "That being said... I don't know what'd I do if one of my party were behind bars. And the others will find her." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 "A suicide mission?! Old man, check your words. I left the planning how to approach this in YOUR hands, you opted to leave me outside, carrying buckets towards a fire you created. You and Nyx went in together and did who knows what, ever think of blaming me again, and I'll make sure the Town Watch will think twice about rewarding your nonsense. I swear, if Zoë is hurt, you will be sorry. You better hope you are right." Skrall, Ellaria & Atramor "Very well. Brace yourselves. This may be... uncomfortable." Maxis takes the tonics, and gulps them down. The ether almost noticably in the air, the nobleman closes his eyes and starts focussing. Seconds later, the air in the room seems to change. What could best be described as a cold wave washes over the heroes. Skrall doesn't notice much difference, but Ellaria feels her magical powers disappear, and Atramor's arcane strength fades as well. The faint glow in the gems the Heroes' weapon carry dim, and powerful artifacts become useless keepsakes... And then, it is over. The heroes did not notice it getting darker, but all of a sudden the room lights up again. There are a few things different. Four of the girls that looked like Zoë seem unconcious, and from what the heroes can see, their features different. The four metal ornaments in the wall have smoke coming out of them, the other girls haste towards the unconcious ones, and the last Zoë, the one in the chair by the bookcase... She slumps forward, and looks drained, but is concious, she blinks a few times, and looks up at the heroes. "Heroes...? What... Explain, now." Quote
