The battle of Nar Eurbrikka wasn’t going well. We’d managed to keep the Imperials busy, fighting in the streets - We’d even brought down one or two of their AT-ST’s that they’d rather foolishly brought in to the narrow streets. But it wasn’t enough, we needed to get to the Imperial garrison and do some real damage, and we were just out-gunned by the sheer numbers of Imps on the streets. Even stormtroopers get can get lucky and manage to hit someone if there are enough of them shooting in the right general direction…

Then a local sympathiser showed us something that could turn the tide. An old long forgotten sewer system under the streets. Lieutenant Dromas took us through miles of tunnels, sloshing through the maker-only-knows what. It smelled worse than a two week dead bantha down there.

Finally we reached our destination, directly under the garrison. Then having planted the thermal detonators and set the timers, we began the long stinking journey back, feeling very optimistic. The tide was about to turn…

My original intention for this MOC was purely practice. Practicing some new (to me) building techniques, and practising taking half decent photos. Then I realised it could be used for SoNE :) So I would like it to be judged please!

Hope I’m not jumping the gun by having a battle on Nar Eurbrikka - Don’t want to spoil any future episodes!

All constructive criticism gratefully received!

That has a great clean look to the upper floors. I also like your snot work with the hinges on the sewer walls. The only suggestion I have has to do with the exposed plate sides at the ground level, working in some brackets would allow some angular snot work in the same earthtones you have used. I think it would look cool if it wasn't such a straight edge and had a rough look to it.

Nice work! Be careful though, you may have a bounty on your head after this act of terrorism

Your sewer is amazing! Great work with the water coming out of the pipe and having your minifigs knee-deep in the muck. I also really like the SNOT work between the street and command center levels. Great job!

Very nice work Kaitan! Sewer is excellent, and the structure looks very Imperial!

My only suggestions for improvement would be the ground floor which is a bit plain with the exposed studs (either dirty it up a bit more, or smooth it out), and perhaps add a small door or something to the upper section (behind the table) for some detail.

What a nice multi-level build! I really like how each level is very different too. Somehow, it adds to the suspension of the scene.

The lower section is really good. The splashing water and the moss growing only at the bottom are some really nice touches. I also like the plain functionality of that squarish tube. Maybe some water dripping from the ceiming, or some kind of dark sewer creature would be even nicer... and even more uncomfortable for you Rebel scum...

The middle section is very recognizable. But at the same time not very distinct. That isn't a requirement here, but adding security camera's or even a passing transport would make it look better.

The top section is the plainest one. That tactics board is very nice, but there isn't much more to see further. I agree with LegoFjotten with adding a door. Or a deflector shield, because they're rather exposed to snipers and espionnage up there. Or a giant carpet with an Imperial ensigna... but now I'm really dreaming.

These remarks are only to make this really nice scene even better (or they have the pretention to do so...). But I must say: for a Rebel, you've come pretty far! So far, I don't want to say "keep it up!" ;-)

Thanks for your feedback, glad people like it overall :)

The plainness of the 'ground' level is mainly due to my own indecision about how Nar Eurbrikka should look. I've sort of got a picture of a muddy tatooine, but with more technology. Then I start thinking about Nar Shadda and the vertical city and I get all confused again! I originally had a lot more stormies spilling out the door, but it looked more like a riot than a military exercise, so I took them off again.

I agree the top section could do with some extra detail, to be honest it wasn't there when I first thought of the idea, it was just going to be a flat roof - like its source of inspiration the endor bunker.

Thanks again,

K

I really like the simple but effective coloring here: just a couple shades of brown for the soil, and just one almost unrealistically bright shade of green for the sewer, all combined with a lot of plain greys, but it works effectively and looks good. I agree that the upper level of the bunker does look a little plain, and I like the effect used for the flowing water in the sewer.

Dig this MOC. Some nice use of the figures. The sewer is great (not crap ;) ) great job with the slime and water and knee deep gunk. I thought stormtroopers were renowned for their precision...

I like the idea of the hologram-table (must see if I can use that later  ). Great work with a three-level model, looks very convincing and very imperial with the more or less hexagon-shaped door. My favorite part, though is the way the Rebels are placed in the sewer; they are standing one or two plates lower than the surface of the liquid, so they really look like they're wading in the slime. That's one thing you've got to say for stormtrooper armor; it may be constricting, hard to see in, and an instant sniper target with minimal blast protection, but it is waterproof!
