Norrington Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 Well, the mystery is being prostponed for a week or so, because the Mansion fell on the floor while it was being moved for pictures, and I was going to rebuild it anyway. It is now no longer just haunted, but It involves cowboy and wild-west ghosts. The Story will take place in the Frontier! The story of the Reavenswood Estate is a dark story you see, it's a story of lost love, and death, and other things that parents may not find sutible for children under the age of 14 X-D . Anywhos, the dilapadated mansion once belonged to Henry and Mary Reavenswood. In 1840 Henry Reavenswood, while moving his family out west to the Anaheim ,Calfifornia (;-) to DisneyLand), stopped in a strech of desert surrounding a lake. While looking for wood for a fire, he saw something glittering, and struck GOLD! The word spread, and soon the place where gold was found was Big Thunder Mesa, and Henry Reavenswood was rich! He then started Big Thunder Railroad (More ;-) to DisneyLand), and retired. He had a large Mansion on the hill overlooking the town built, and moved in his wife, Mary, and his daughter Melanie. As his daughter was to be wed, he found his daughter's fiance was going to take her far away from Thunder Mesa, which Henry wouldn't allow. So, the night of his daughter's wedding, he took his son-in-law to be into the gallery, where paintings of his Grandmother, his Uncle, a Marquis, His sister, and his brother. The room begain stretching, revealing unsettling circumstances in the paintings. His Grandmother was sitting atop a chair, balancing on his grandfathers grave. His uncle was dressed like a Marquis, wearing boxers, on a keg of dynamite, with a lit fuse. His sister was standing with a parasol, standing on an unravelng tightrope, above a river full aligators. His brother was rather plump, sitting atop another rather plump man, sitting atop a rather skinny man, waist deep in quick sand. After he revealed these things, he laughed a maniacal laugh, and punched out the fiance. He then took him to the top of the gallery, and hung him. As this was happening, Melanie entered the room to show the wedding guests the portraits, she gazed in fear and alarm at her father. Melanie rushed up to her room, and would only wander the mansion from night. In 1860, an earthqauke hit Thunder Mesa, and Henry and Martha were killed. Their graves can still be found in the cemetary on the hill surrounding the house. Melenie is rumored to still walk the halls of the mansion, but no one knows... That is all for now, Foolish Mortals! WesternOutlaw Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Excellent story. I can't wait to see pictures of the mansion and the spooks within. *skull* Quote
Norrington Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 Well, all I can say about most of the wild-west spooks is that they're not in the mansion itself. The only ghosts in the mansion are from the DisneyLand original (i.e. the ballroom dancers), the story itself is the modified version of the Phantom Manor from DisneyLand Paris version. Here is a link to that story, so you can compare it to mine: Da Link The main charachters (Henry, Melenie) are borrowed from Manor, and the rest are from the original, so I'd check the links in my first post for reference. Norrington Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 Depends, have you ever been on the Haunted Mansion/ Phantom Manor? If you havn't, check out all the site I linked and check them thoroughly, and you'll probably be able to get most references to the attraction, and most clues that are thrown at you. Quote
iamded Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Oh dear. It seems I am far too late to enter this! Haha, oh well. My minifig (Spark, the orange guy from Rock Raiders, only with black pants instead of orange and with a black cap) I guess won't be seen in this mystery. Not even as a guest appearance. Or even just in the background of a scene, hidden away, but still there. Nope, not at all... not even a blurry outline... or something... :-P Quote
Norrington Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) Well, now I am very un sure when the mystery is going to take place. On my last week of school, it would seem that all my teachers are giving tests, so I am studying ALOT! That brings to light that the room in the Mansion thats (Nearly) finshed is the Foyer/Streching Portrait hall, which were intentioned as different, but are now one room. So, to distract you from the fact that you'll have to wait longer, here is a more detailed, more original sotry for the manor: Now, our story begains in 1840, when Henry Ravenswood found gold on Big Thunder Mountain. He founded Big Thunder Mesa and the Big Thunder Mountain Mining Company in 1842. This caued him to become fabulously wealthy. So, in Friday the 13, 1842, he moved him and his family into the mansion recently finished in the 'posh' end of town. After a few years, in 1845, he began distrusting the town officals and people of Big Thunder Mesa. He thought they were turning against him, and started having most of the gold from the mines brought through secret tunnels to the general store, then to his Mansion's win cellar. Unfortunatley, the plot was found out, and the people actully began to distust him. Fast forward to 1857, when Melanie, Henry's daughter, had become old enough to enough to wed. She fell in love with a town offical. Henry, still being distrusted by the town, was not so sure that he was down with this wedding. The town offical, who had over heard the sheriff and other conspirators, that they were going to rise up and kill Henry and his whole family! Alarmed when he heard this, her fiance told Melanie that when they wed, they must flea Thunder Mesa the next day. Henry over heard this, and was outraged! Not realising that ths fiance had good intentions, he planned to kill him. On Melanie's wedding night, all the guests were gathered in the grand hall, waiting impatiantly. The groom never arrived. Melanie, not very worried, waited untill her flowers wilted. The guests began to eat and waltz, showing no respect. Melanie, begining to grow discontented, went up to the room branching off the foyer, and realising there was a 'disquieting metamorphasis'. The room, where portraits were kept of their older family members, had streched, revealing all the members in an unlikley, but morbid turn of events. Not only that, above her, high in the windows of the copula, she saw a grisley sight: Her fiance hanging, anf her father in the act! Highly distressed, she ran to the attic and locked herslf in, only leaving for food at night. 4 of her fiance's friends came to the mansion to see where their friend was, but Henry killed them to. Melanie secretly requested that they all be intered in the Family Cemetary, under neath busts of them selves. The five busts stood proudly for a while, but Henry, in a fit of rage, took an axe to the head of Melanie's fiance's bust. The busts remain that way today, and some people say that at night, they may hear jazzy music, and see the busts singing the tune for 994 other Happy Haunts. In 1860, Henry and his wife were killed in a massive earth qauke that destroyed much of Thunder Mesa. Melanie is unknown to have survived or not. People have reported, while walking near Reavenswood Manor, that they can hear a voice saying, "One day, my groom will come", see a flickering light in the attic, and hear ghostly singing near the grounds. Perhaps Melanie has taken up room with a candle in the attic, waiting for her etheral groom for all eternity. Wow, I am surprised how many Haunted Mansion, Phantom Manor, and FrontierLand references I was able to work in there. Edited May 30, 2007 by Norrington Quote
Boonetrooper Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 If it's not too late, could you change my figs head to the one with the mic and orange hair? (pretty common) if not, could you remove my helmet and replace it with hair? (any color) Quote
Norrington Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 If it's not too late, could you change my figs head to the one with the mic and orange hair? (pretty common) if not, could you remove my helmet and replace it with hair? (any color) I'll try. But I'm not sure if I can find it. I recently had a ton of town figs out, and that head was in it. But, I dumped all the figs (and the head) into a tub of unsorted parts. I'll see what I can do, it will be most likley the 2nd option. Quote
Boonetrooper Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 No prob. ;-) I'd like ti without a helemt either way. Quote
Norrington Posted June 7, 2007 Author Posted June 7, 2007 Well, while waiting for parts to come to build some more of the Mansion's Rooms, here are some banners using the WDW Mansion facade that you can feel free to put in your sigs: I like the face one, because I've known about the chesspeices decorating the Mansion's facade and the 999 Happy Haunts represented with people in the grillwork, but I've never seen it like this before. That consrvatory is very nice! *y* Quote
