So I recently acquired a lot of great parts from the Freeze Machine and Jaw Beast sets... and I've been having a play with them.

As you can see, I've given the Freeze Machine a much more colourful design, by ditching black bones and silver and putting in a greyscale frame and more orange. I've also given him a much daintier Freeze Blaster, for more pinpoint shooting.

The Freeze Blaster can also be twisted around to be used as a blade weapon, just in case Stormer gets into a hand-to-claw combat situation.

Speaking of such, here's a little preview for another thing I'm working on...

So anywho, your thoughts guys? :D

I don't really like the Hero Cores on the shoulders, and Stormer's helmet on the back looks weird. It's as if you were piloting a mech with a giant version of your face attached behind. That would be creepy.

But beside that, this is a nice MOC/MOD. Simple yet effective. It's too bad the short bones don't exist (yet ?) in bley.

And your beast seems promising, I hope you'll show it soon !

I like how you have executed the torso HF pieces on the shoulders. I have had that idea for while but have not being able to make it look good.

I like how the main build of this looks. Really growing fond of that kneecap style. I like the use of the 1.0 feet here and the torso-armor on the shoulders, complete with the Hero Factory (core) icon!

I do have to use a little imagination when it comes to that blaster. To me it looks more like a dagger no matter the way it's placed, but I get what you were going for. The minifig-saw on the blaster arm is a nice touch, harking back to Stormer's original weapon design.

I do wish there was something for his feet to 'stand' on, instead of having them dangle around like that. Perhaps another of those Savage Planet parts (like on the legs) attached to the little orange cladding underneath the cockpit would help with this?

I like that there's more orange around the seat too, and throughout the body. Before, it stood out. Now, it looks like it belongs.

(Seeing the white and orange together like this makes me miss Nex even more... sigh.)

I think it looks like a great little revamp, and that beast in the bottom-most picture looks like a very threatening opponent. I can easily tell who that's going to be.. !

Disagree. They look great!

What he said.

I confess, I didn't even know LEGO made pieces like these, but it looks like a cool build!

I don't kike the HF cores on the shoulders (try putting them on the inside. It makes for a nice effect, similar to the show version of the armor), but it looks much more mechanical than the set version, and the armored cockpit looks nice too. Did you paint the Bulk armor add ons?

Finally, the Beast looks much more menacing than Jaw Beast, what with the armor shells sticking out behind the arms like spikes.

Did you paint the Bulk armor add ons?

No, I don't think he did because those parts can be found in white in the Green Lantern set.

This is a pretty nice build! The best part is definitely the cockpit. Too bad LEGO didn't make the minifigure seats azure to match well with Stormer's color scheme. The only thing I can gripe about is that it doesn't have enough little details (minifigure weapons, flick missiles, etc.) but besides that I can't find much wrong about this MOC.

Very nice revamp! I love the colors! The beast looks awesome! :sweet:

Beautiful revamp. The thing that bothers me most about Stormer Freeze Machine is how skeletal it looks compared to the other machines. This model completely re-imagines it, fixing that flaw by making it beefier and reducing some of the clutter. If you had one of those Tr. Light Blue storage cylinders for the back then it would be perfect.

I'm not 100% sold on the Hero Cores on the shoulders, but the shoulders would be too plain without SOMETHING there, and the added theme-specific detail they provide helps take the place of printed shells.

That beast is also looking incredibly slick!

What's the piece count for this?

The Stormer helmet was more used for shaping if anything... If there was a version without the face, I'd use it :P And those short bones do exist in Bley, but I haven't got any...

Thank you! I'm not usually keen on how they look as shoulder armour, but I felt it was necessary here.

Looking at the pics, it seems I didn't post that orange shell as it usually is. Stormy's feet usually snuggle onto it quite well, but I've set it off a bit here. Sorry bout that!

Thank you kindly! I shall be revealing the beast very soon... He has an extra colour now, which harks to a certain Anime beast/mecha~

What's the piece count for this?

Oh gosh, I haven't counted! Let me go do that...

...About 62 pieces! Would that make this plausible as a set?

I don't get why you guys don't like the cores on the shoulders, it's sort of like markings on any war machine, you know like faction insignia. This guy looks pretty neat. Love the placement of the little anti-infantry cannon. At least I hope that's what it is. :v

Oh, yeah, indeed. I initially thought you used three of these bones, which only come in black and red, but I just noticed you used this bone to attach the lowest #3 orange armor. I assume you also used this part on the shoulders, right ?

I personnally (obviously  ) think they stick out too much. That's what bothers me. :/

No worries! I can imagine how it would look if the part were up the way it's meant to be.

Do you plan on revamping any other "Invasion" sets? Aside from the beast in that last picture. Man, that looks good.

That is indeed a lil cannon for the mech... But it detaches so Stormy can use it as a gun. It's nothing cheeky v:

Nah son. I used the first shortest bones to connect the armour at the chest, and the second shortest bone to connect the footrest.

No worries! I can imagine how it would look if the part were up the way it's meant to be.

I got Splitter Beast yesterday, so I would like to have a go at remaking him.

Lovely MOC! IMO, I love the hero cores and orange works surprisingly well with Stormer. Your beast is looking promising too! Great job

This is a really good revamp on Stormer Mech, like that you give something more on the arms and removing the Pearl Dark Gray bur I think you should have change the orange to blue (not the cockpit, that is okay), The change of the left hand I don't like because I think it better if it was still the big hand because it mainly easy to pick up bigger beast. the legs are okay nothing to say there but I love that you change those big feet and used the 1.0 feet. The body is really good but please remove the gun right below the minifig because it just don't look right. The weapon is a lot better then the set but i don't get why you put another tube on the left arm. Overall this is a amazing MOC.

Really awesome color combos, really digging the orange and white.

I like it, but with the added orange it starts to look a bit more like a Nex machine! I also feel like the lack of silver and titanium metallic detracts from the mechanical appearance.

Funky dun dun *music plays* clap your hands... Oh wait nevermind! This is a great moc and looks absoloutley funky! The beast screams "Paccific rim"....
