kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 ... and so the news of what happened in Thorshaven spread quickly across all of Mitgardia and eventually reached Kaliphlin too. But what has really happened, why is everybody so upset? Well, let's have a look at what happened: Normally the harbor of Thorshaven is a lively but actually rather peaceful place. People respect each other since they know that trade is based on the mutual understanding that only peace fills your coffers. However, in recent days near the Kaliphlin Kontor several incidents have severely disrupted this peace. First off all, arrogant Kaliphlin traders not only cheated at the scales but also started fistfights against peace loving Mitgardian famers: Kaliphlin sailors permanently misbehave in public: Mitgardian women were raped (not depicted in order not to shame the victims) and countless Mitgardian poor people taken in order to be sold into slavery, something absolutely forbidden in Mitgardia. The captain of the source of all this evil, the Kaliphlin caravel "Arandela Negra", was called to the harbor master several times and ordered to stop these atrocities. However, the effort had been in vain. So as a final consequence the harbor master had ordered the "Arandela Negra" seized as recompensation and her crew arrested until Kaliphlin authorities officially apologized. But to the surprize of the Mitgardians the Kaliphlins declared that their fleet was so mighty, that they could do without the "Arandela Negra". Why worry about a mere boat? So as a final result, the "Arandela Negra" is now officially a Mitgardian ship! Quote
Gunman Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Great scenes Kabel ! I like the building at 1st picture Mitgardian women were raped (not depicted in order not to shame the victims) Hahaha :) Are all these connected?? Any overall picture? Quote
Tomsche Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Those cheating Kaliphians! Luckily there are already to many Civil Wars brewing or we'd have to send a special division of our 'heavy bearded belly dancer females' in to blind them before the big assault! Quote
kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 @Gunman: check this out! @Tomsche: As for now we simply take all the ships whose crew misbehave. I think that ought to teach them a lesson! Quote
Gunman Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Ahh just remembered your city :) Nice you keep expanding it Quote
Alfadas Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Looks great! Good story, keep the Kaliphlin scum away from one of our most beautiful cities! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Haha! Brilliant kabel! Stick it to those Kaliphliners! Quote
kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 And as everybody can see, they can't even keep their ships clean, lousy sailors too! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I like the looks of that stone house, we haven't seen that one before, have we? Cool crane too Quote
Khorne Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Do you have any more pictures of the Kaliphlin Kontor? I like the look of it, but I can't seem to find more photos in your flickr set of Thorshaven. Quote
kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Well, the Kontor is the fourth Waterfront module. I had it on display in Antwerpen and reworked it some. It isn't quite finished yet, but I had to use it for story purposes. So, next Brickmania in November you can see it for real! Khorne, good to see you here again, back to building for Mitgardia? Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Really like it the story is very well done I seen the rest of thorshaven harbour, looks amazing Quote
Mike S Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I am not sure why these events are so surprising to these wimpy Mitgardians. We citizens of Kaliphlin must deal with such pirates and bandits everyday. Bandits and pirates have always been a problem in Kaliphlin and while under the rule of Dextrus Flagg their numbers were greatly reduced, their numbers seem to be rising once again as they take advantage of the jurisdictional borders of the Kaliphlin Council. We Kaliphlinians applaud the harbor master for ridding Kaliphlin of these troublesome pirates. It must be noted that the flag bears proof that these pirates are not of Kaliphlin nobility for they did not fly the dark blue flag. Quote
kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 they take advantage of the jurisdictional borders of the Kaliphlin Council. In accordance with the Earl of the West, Steen Larsson, the Harbor Master of Thorhaven announces that all ships of disputeable Kaliphlin origin will henceforth be seized and reflaged as Mitgardian! Kaliphlin authorities are asked to make sure these jurisdictional borders are enforced stricter again! *Playing in the background: Rule Mitgardia, Mitgardia rules the Seas ... * Quote
kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Sounds bad I know, those Kaliphlins think we're stupid! Everybody can see that there are official Kaliphlin troops aboard the Arandela Negra. Time for the Kaliphlin Council to revoke those letters of reprisal against the Mitgardian fleet! Quote
Gideon Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 If Kaliphlin authorities would take such draconian measures against every troublemaker and dishonest merchant, there would be a lot less trade in the big ports of Kaliphlin. It seems like our justice system is much more refined than the "right of the strongest" Mitgardian justice? (this acutally sparked a naval counter-MOC idea for me, we'll see if and how it will turn out in real bricks ) Quote
kabel Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 I wonder what you could possibly come up with since everybody knows that Mitgardian sailors and traders are men of honor, unlike those sneaky Kaliphlins! Withdraw those privateers from our waters and you'll see your men without shackles again! (glad that at least someone is taking the bait ) Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 HA! This is great! Way to stick it to those boasting Kaliphlins! Quote
kabel Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 I suggest other Mitgardians too check more closely what is going on in their harbors and send out more ships to control our waters! Quote
Yooha Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I hope this won't lead to a civil war between the two guilds. That would jeopardize Lasvor's near future's plan.. Quote
Niku Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I like the whole story moc, my favorite part is the gray building combined with the green windows details. Quote
Mike S Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I hope this won't lead to a civil war between the two guilds. That would jeopardize Lasvor's near future's plan.. I highly doubt it and because we Kaliphlinians aren't prejudice (unlike certain Mitgardians, no name calling here ), we don't paint the entire Mitgardian population as troublemakers and therefore if you treat us Kaliphlinians with respect we do the same to you. Quote
Kai NRG Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Never fear, we Kaliphlins know that not all Mitgardians are riotous troublemakers! Those that bring their goods to trade and behave themselves are more than welcome! I know, those Kaliphlins think we're stupid! Everybody can see that there are official Kaliphlin troops aboard the Arandela Negra. Time for the Kaliphlin Council to revoke those letters of reprisal against the Mitgardian fleet! Poor, poor Mitgardians. They can't see how easy it is for a pirate to get ahold of a few official looking suits? I wonder what you could possibly come up with since everybody knows that Mitgardian sailors and traders are men of honor, unlike those sneaky Kaliphlins! Withdraw those privateers from our waters and you'll see your men without shackles again!... Just wait until you see what your men do as soon as they get beyond your sight! As for the Arandela Negra, we can certainly do without her. We applaud the Mitgardians who have put down another pirate pretending to sail under the Kaliphlin colors! Quote
kabel Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 As for the Arandela Negra, we can certainly do without her. We applaud the Mitgardians who have put down another pirate pretending to sail under the Kaliphlin colors! We take this as a go to hunt down more Kaliphlin privateers. Seems like your fleet is so big that you can do without the one or the other ship. And yes pirates they are, all those privateers stealing with the backing of the Kaliphlin council so they can enrich all those greedy merchants of Kaliphlin! We of course don't mind all those honest and hard working Kaliphlins making a living in a rightous manner. However, privateering and slave making in our territories have to come to an end! Quote
