inashu Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Hi! This is my first MOC-post. The MOC itself was a 4 set challenge and I have only used parts from set 6077, 6066, 6054, 6273. This is the result after a few evenings of building. The castle is "openable" so that it can also be used as a gate/wall. Overall i'm quite satisfied with my first MOC, it's just the gate tower i'm not that happy about and by the time i was building it I was running out of parts. Anyways, here are some pictures of it! Hope you guys like it! Tell me what you think :) Quote
Alfadas Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Great! It looks cool. Maybe a bit more variation on the ground, like a few grey studs, but it looks cool already! Keep on MOCing! Quote
Ridge Montante Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Nice MOC. I love the forestmen and anything to do with them. I like the trees but some more vegetation on the ground would be good too. Quote
Gideon Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Good job with the limited selection of bricks I would however suggest that you mind what's in the background when taking your pictures, the MOC presentation would greatly improve if you put something more neutral (just a plain white sheet goes a long way) behind the build. Gunman Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 (edited) Nice one inashu, where is this 4 set challenge running btw? Edited February 11, 2014 by Gunman Quote
HammerBro Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Interesting idea with parts from only four sets. It turned out well, very nice. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Very nice. Great to see a classic forest men build! Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Great variation on arguably one of the best classic castle factions! Quote
inashu Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Thanks for the feedback guys! :) Nice one inashu, where is this 4 set challenge running btw? Just a challenge I made for myself to see if I could make something good out of 4 sets :) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Very reminiscent of Forestmen sets of old. I was a huge fan of them growing up. This is just like something LEGO would produce in the early 90s. I have intentions of recreating some of those old sets in newer build techniques and colors. We'll see if I ever can make time for that though. Keep up the great work! Quote
SirBlake Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Very cool, I love the concept. My only criticism would be that it should be less symmetrical. If it's made of trees, it doesn't make sense that the different towers would be so similar. The forestmen's river fortress is a decent example of this. Well, the branches at the top, anyways. Quote
pcvando Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I agree, very cool. It looks like an official forest men set. I like the playability factor, but you could add some foliage on the ground. Great job! Keep up the forest men, I love them! ;) Quote
