I was thinking about this the other day

It would be cool if TLG made a third LSW

But what would it be about

Maybe the first LSW and second one would be combined

with new levels or something

Or an EU version like the old republic or something

What do you think and got any ideas?

Though it would be neat. I think they've finished with the Lego Star Wars game...ah well. Especially with Lego Batman game coming along from the same guys who made LSW.

*cough*

While browsing RebelScum.com's forums, I noticed an interesting thread on the possibility of LSW3. Here is the quote:
UNCONFIRMED LSW III Rumors wrote:

...a bunch of unconfirmed LEGO STAR WARS 3 rumors just popped up on Gamespot and IGN...apparently LEGO STAR WARS III: THE CLONE WARS is being prepped for a September '08 release to coincide with the new CLONE WARS cartoon being released...the reports say that the new game will span both the old 2004-2005 animated series as well as the new one. Again, take it for what it's worth seeing as they're not confirmed, but it does make sense seeing as Lucas likes to release a bunch of products around a planned marketing event (THE FORCE UNLEASHED, SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE, CLONE WARS '04). Anyways, just FYI...saw the same story at more than one site so it seems to be gaining some momentum...

:-D :-D

Evidently you guys didn't get the point. :-P

I KNOW they are making the series, and you can't say they haven't made sets for it when it starts in '08.

The rumours say they will make a game to coincide with the new show, which makes it likely that there will be sets too (if the rumours are true).

Two good things. :-)

I think a season will last about twelve to sixteen episodes, and judging from the films (where there's about 2.5 years between principal photography and the final result) they'll start working on this new series roughly 2 years before the start of the season. The first phase is making sketches and model making, so about 1.6 years before the start of the new series Lucasarts can supply LEGO the first designs. LEGO will use roughly three months for their modelling, which gives the software makers roughly a full year + two months to make the game.

Well according to the Wikipedia site for the Clone Wars series, at least 2 episodes are fully completed. It's expected to air in 2008 during the late spring/ early summer (I would expect May, since that's Star Wars month). On TheForce.Net podcast for last week, Steve Sansweet (Lucasfilm's fan relations dude) said that Lucasarts will announce two new games at Celebration 4. I wouldn't be surprised if the the much rumored Battlefront III is one of the two. I've heard in the past that LEGO works about a year in advance and the new contract with Lucasfilm from 2006 mentioned that they would "continue its construction toy rights to the entire Star Wars galaxy, including an all new Star Wars animated television series currently in development".

When Gamespot asked Jonathan Smith about Lego Batman he replied

GSUK: Are you working on Lego Batman?

JS: We are definitely...working on more Lego licence games. We are working on another Lego project right now, but these things have to be announced at the right time. Sorry I can't give you more info.

ANOTHER PROJECT???
