DrJB Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I have the 9V train power box (black with big yellow dial) and wanted to power a PF RC receiver with it, then control 2 motors connected to the PF RC ... Could not get this to work. Anyone aware of this? Is there a workaround? Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Yes, you need to use a piece of aluminum foil to short circuit the connector. Quote
DrJB Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Can you elaborate? I did not mention it (thought it was obvious), but I'm using a standard Lego converter cable to go from 9V to PF, and still, it does not work. Quote
BachAddict Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The converter cable only provides power on the C1 and C2 lines, used by normal motors. Receivers and Servo motors use the always-on power lines, so you need to modify the connector or use foil. Here you can find which pins are which. http://www.philohome.com/pf/pf.htm Quote
Rockbrick Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I was going to buy a small battery box (rechargeable or AAA) and then remembered I have two of these 9V boxes, one black and one white somewhere.... ! Quote
