I found this, haven't seen it mentioned, so... According to this website, an entire episode of the Simpsons will be animated with LEGO! It is set to air in May 4th @ 8pm, celebrating their 25th year, and 550th. Not much on the shows content or how it will be animated (CGI or stop-motion) have been released. While not a regular viewer of the Simpsons, this will be one I will not miss :classic:

I hope that we will see a few "sets" in the episode that can be made if this line gets a positive response , and a exclusive homer if that we're to be true this will probably be the only lego DVD I will buy

story:

Homer Simpson wakes up in a Springfield where everyone and everything is made out of Legos, and he must figure his way out before he gets stuck in the plastic world forever.

I haven't sat down to watch an episode in about 10 years. I've caught parts of a couple of episodes whilst at a friend's house over the past decade, but that's about it. Everyone I know prefers Futurama.......

I am however strangely compelled to see a Simpsons episode made entirely from Lego... I'll be interested to see what it's like.

This has got me wondering if there's a Simsons Lego video game brewing away at TT though.......

I, too, much preferred Futurama, over Simpsons. I don't really know why I never took to them, though I love Homer and Grandpa. There is a home video of me at Christmas when I was 2 with the Simpsons on in the background in 1989 :classic:

ARRRGGGHHH

They said 'Legos'!!!

If they say that in the episode I will. Uggh

Like it or hate it, it really is the way Americans say it and it's not grammatically incorrect (contrary to popular belief you can pluralize company names and their products).

Anyways, the Simpsons... I'll watch it. I wonder how it's animated. Lego Movie style or Lego NinjaGo style.

I think it's confusing because most brands don't call what they produce their actual company name. For instance Hasbro toys are not called "Hasbros" or "Hasbro", they are called action figures. Pyrex are called containers or dishes, Mercedes are cars or SUVs, etc. I think the bigger issue is people calling Lego bricks just simply Legos or Lego when they are referring to the actual pieces and not the company?

Sorry, totally off topic I know. To get back on topic I would have preferred Lego done Futurama instead of Simpsons but then I guess the yellow characters wouldn't have fit as well. It would of been a more interesting/popular license at least. O am kind of interested in seeing the Simpson episode if done in all Lego despite never watching the show.

^I think the bigger reason is Simpsons have been going for 25 years strong and Futurama has been cancelled...twice... Needless to say I never cared for Futurama. It seems there are people on both sides there, rarely like both. I don't know why. It being the same creators and all...

With that said, I haven't seen an episode of any new Simpsons in about 7 years since I cancelled cable back then.

There'll have to be more than (Let's see 6 in the set + 16 in the series) 22 characters in this, so there must be more sets... But I'm worried we'll see loads of figures and buildings that we'll never be able to get our hands on!

Why does there have to be? I can think of episodes with no more than 10 characters...

Looking forward to how they do this episode, and then looking crazy feeling all the bags trying to guess each minifig when they come out :-)

The upcoming LEGO episode: Fresh off THE SIMPSONS getting its own LEGO set, THE SIMPSONS will pay homage to the toys by having a LEGO-centric episode that will air towards the end of the season.

“It’s a terrific episode, written by Brian Kelley, who, a long while ago, said, ‘What would happen if Homer, in his imagination, went into a world of LEGO?’” Jean explained. “And there’s a reason that he does, and there’s a reason he prefers it. And we contacted LEGO company to see if they would authorize it, and it’s animation that looks like LEGO CGI for much of the show, and there’s some regular SIMPSONS animation. And it’s going to be the 550th episode airing in May. It’s been in the works a long time: about a year and a half on our end.”

From Give Me My Remote. So it's CGI.
