Hello. I have a question related to the image post process in render category. Are brightness/contrast touch-ups (curves/levels) in photo editing software allowed or not?

You may edit your entry until the deadline :classic:

So, of course you can add something in the lxf, but the voters will (porbably/mostly) vote based on the image, so it's up to you if you want to update the images.

Alright, in that case, I've updated both posts. Thank you! :classic:

Nope, as it says in the specific render category rules, you may not edit the picture in any way. The render image should be the image that comes out of the renderer.

*sigh* sorry everyone. I cannot enter this contest. For multiple reasons.

1. I don't have the time to devote to this contest. I cannot think of a house to make in LDD and make it in time for the contest before the deadline. I have too much going on in my life to focus on this contest, let alone an idea for the entry. And all that's going on is not good either.

2. I cannot accept the prizes if I entered and won. As awesome as it would be to win the prizes, I am not in a position to have them mailed to me, or store them in my LEGO room. I am going through many projects in organizing my LEGO so I do not have time nor space for the contest.

3. I know that if I were to enter the contest, my chances if winning are slim to none. I am not an advanced builder, in real LEGO or computer generated LEGO. I am a builder but my models are hardly impressive. Most of my models are small and hardly interesting. Building a house would not provide any skill of my own. I have not tried advanced building techniques to make my model impressive. Being a subordinate on several levels, my entry to this contest could not be made in time, with style and originality and without mail restrictions.

Sorry if it sounds like a sob story but I'm not having a good day. How bad? I almost choked on part of my lunch while typing this post. :(

I hope the rest who enter do their best. I wish you all to have a good day despite mine. I don't care. I'd rather see the rest of you happy even if I suffer alone.

Legolijntje, could you please reconsider your answer to Juraj?

As I have understood the rules say:

  • A little Photoshop is allowed for the picture, but only white balance, background editing etc. The model itself should remain unchanged.

I already did a "little Photoshop" on my entry. So please don't argue too strict. Otherwise I have to withdraw my entry.

Well, since the beginning of the contest, it says:

A little Photoshop is allowed for the picture, but only white balance, background editing etc. (except for the rendering category). The model itself should remain unchanged.

What exactly have you done? It doesn't look like you changed a lot?

If you wouldn't have said anything....

EDIT: Ah, wait a minute, I see where everything and all the confusion came from. The entry thread has the old version of the rules, where the line "except for the rendering category" is missing. Oops

Well, uhm, this is getting complicated....

On one side, I should disqualify you, but you actually did follow the rules (at least, the ones that were there). On the other side, if I would allow you, it would be unfair to the ones that already entered with the new rules in this topic...

Since "April 15th at 23.59 GMT" would be in ~24 hours from now, I'm hoping I still have time to write up my models and enter the free build and micro contests. I'll check in the morning!

Not really. I'm smashing my head into my laptop for not starting sooner. :wall:

I'll probably just have to throw together the build at the end unless a miracle happens and I don't have to work tomorrow.

The deadline is at the end of April the 15th (because 24:00 is the end of a day and 0:00 is the start of a day), so there's still some time left.

I think thats 23:59 because clocks never get to 24:00.

:wall: My computer freezes as I'm working on the model and my internet refuses takes forever to upload 100 kB :hmpf:

Anyway, my own fault for putting myself in this last-minute position. There are a few renders in my brickshelf account with the same folder as the file.

Man, that was too much stress! My own fault for leaving it last-second, of course, I spent an agonising minute hunting on Flickr for where to Upload the image for my micro build :/

So though I entered the text and the LDraw file at 23:59, I understand if the image itself is disqualified as it was edited in to the post at 24:01 ;)

I'll add pictures if I can when I'm back from work. My post didn't meet the deadline anyway. Was able to do some renders overnight.

The 3D file is the most important, your brickshelf folder goes public when mod get a chance to look at it which is a few days, changing or adding a file in that folder will make it private again and youll have to wait again.

There will be a long list of entries with 1 image per entry. The image links to the entry itself with more images.

There will be 2 seperate voting topics for the micro and the free-build.

The voting is now opened!

You can vote for the free-build here and for micro here. The winner of the render category will be chosen by the EB staff (a small poll in the staff area). :classic:
